And yes, I am almost certain his style of learning differs from mine of teaching. Menopause doesn't help the situation... my counselor tells me it's perfectly normal for women in this transition to feel like leaving their partner. So, no major changes allowed for the time being :peace: In my mind, we have about 18 months to figure it all out... that's when I plan to leave the state - will he (be allowed to) come or not... that is the question of the season. :oops::hmmmm:
 
LOL! If my home life is any lesson this won't be over in 18 months :rolleyes:. You will have to make the decision in the middle of it.

If he's smart he will pick up a book on dealing with a wife in menopause and read that instead of messing with the plants!
 
The closet is temporarily shut down due to its inability to hold enough heat. Wasn't getting warmer than 65 so the Amnesia Haze auto was moved into the tent to finish flowering.

I've got seedlings almost ready to move in but they'll have to wait a couple weeks.

Going to be hard to wait a couple weeks to drop a couple. Will give me time to change my mind again and again! Sweet CBD will be first but with what? Maybe just 2 of that? Been a while since I've doubled up. I find myself wishing I had more space
 
Congrats on the new beans! More space? You have a chilly closet, a starter closet, and a tent. Seems like that should be good amount of space if you put a tent in the closet to keep the heat in. I got the shed to warm up (uninsulated and high 40's at night) by turning the strips up to 270-300w, but not until I sealed up the growing space.

If it was going to be an ongoing problem, and if I wasn't planning to move next year, I would surely look into this (though I may not have thought of it on my own!)

A new plot twist has arisen... I'll be out of town four days this week and only the autopots could sustain themselves that long. Soooooo hubby is being forced to learn how to feed. He's done this before, when we poured through the top and extracted the runoff, so I know he can do it. Maybe this forced event is just what he needs. For me, it's a welcome break from my life. I'll be a medical escort for a longtime family friend (and almost but not quite my stepfather) who is having an operation (or maybe procedure) in Seattle. This is my first time in this role so I don't entirely know what to expect but I'm glad to be in a position to be able to help.
 
Good for you and maybe good for your husband! I'm not sure what a medical escort is but if it's anything like an advocate (which is what I am for my dad), it means you listen carefully and think about what's best for the patient. Ask every question that comes to mind and think of all the possible issues that might arise from whatever they are recommending. Some staff will like you and some will find you annoying, but your job is to make them the best at theirs.

They send an escort when the patient needs assistance after an operation or procedure; I think it allows the patient to not have an over night stay in the hospital. I will attend his appointments with him and assist him afterward. I'm currently trying to be encouraging as he gets through the prep.... going to be a long night. There's an appointment in the morning then Friday afternoon.

This morning I had a chance to practice staying calm when the unexpected happens. He lives in a village about 50 miles from me.... with no road access. I awoke to thick fog!! Then, just as the fog cleared, he called to tell me they don't have a reservation for him!! I made a couple phone calls and then all I could do was wait and hope he'd make it in before the flight to seattle. My recent counseling paid off!! I didn't over react or panic :)

Results revealed good news, though there's still a need for treatment it's not cancer. He opted to speak with the surgeon regarding treatment on his own, which was ok with me. He's fully capable, intellectually, and the assistance required was mostly navigating in the city. He lives in the bush and grew up in a village of 500-800 so finding baggage claim would have been a challenge on his own. Also the hospital complex is larger than his town!! Drop him in the woods on the island where he lives (2000 square miles) and he'll find his way home... the hospital was totally foreign territory.

Temps in the closet range 64-75 without the light so I'm gonna reactivate it. There are 3 in the starter closet that are anxious for the upgrade.

Used a hole drill the 2nd time and got a snug fit with just a piece of air hose sliced down one side

Hydroton fills the wick so the coco doesn't float out into the water. Not sure this is necessary but oh well.

I got this porous air hose for hydro and it didn't work so well in water. I've got it in the autopots and it seems helpful. Meant to set it right on the hydroton but added coco before I remembered so had to shimmy it in.

Sorry, I'm confused. How do the grow bags interact with the hydroton and reservoir? Is the bottom of the pot cut out?

AM looks like pre-flowers still, but any day now...

SweetSue just started an Octopot thread and she mentions that they get top watered only once, on transplant into the pot. Is yours different because it's homemade?
