Clone question

Hi All,
I would appreciate some input; I'm having a time getting my clones to take root, the 5 that worked are doing great but it's taking a month (give or take) to see roots. I've had the clone tub inside the grow tent, I've had it on a table with the light right over it as well as almost indirect light. I'm only getting one to root out of maybe ten cuttings, does it take so long because I am using fluorescent grow lights? I put nutrients in the tub a couple of times and it caused the water to turn green and clogged the sprinkler head right away.....Clues?

The best way period is aero cloner. Unless your power goes out then your screwed, but as fast as they work you can pull more clones and only loose a few days. I use fluorescent light, a ez cloner, clonex root gel, clonex clone seedling nutrient, and water. You already have the cloner, so next step would be the clonex feed and clonex rooting gel. Keep them in a small concealed space to keep humidity up along with the temp. You say the water turned green, is your tub clear? If it is, you need to black it out with tinfoil or spray paint the outside, you don't want any light inside. Last thing I can think of is to run a airstone 24\7 to oxygenate and keep water temp cooler from the pump running. In just a week you can have roots like this.

One other thing, when you cut your clone have your root gel rite there and go straight into the gel with the cutting.

I guess today's project is to paint the top, it isn't clear but it is white. I do have clonex and rooting hormone for the tub, i have it on a timer on 15 min/ off 45 min. I really appreciate the tips, the 70s were so much simpler when I'd throw some seeds out in the pasture and occasionally feed them with some miracle grow & molasses.

Either run your sprayer full time or 15 on 15 off.

Well, ur on the path !
I have found that the nute solution needs be LOW, temps in mid 80's & add some Hydrogen Peroxide 1x a week. some put a bit of Bleach in for same effect. just be easy till you know the bare amount.
since I have got the 35% H2O2, a few drops 2x a week has been a cure for damping off, and zero slime or alge issues.
as a side note: I have sprayed the stem rot fuzzies with drugstore H2O2 and corrected the problem.
3 x I have taken the rooted BROWN covered root balls outta Veg, swished them aorund in a temp. adjusted & 5.8 ph'ed bucket. with a whole bottle of store H2O2. then rinsed them in a clear H2Os bucket. & into the Bloom room they go! beaty Gurls & grow like ...well... WEEDS!

I've had a few clone prospects in the cloner so long they grew barnacles.
You said into the bloom room with them, you mean flowering light or veg?

He means flowering I'd recommend getting a humidity dome for your cloner. And clonex will help a ton.

Thanks for all the tips everyone, I have one more question; How old does the mother need to be before taking clones?

No real age on mother is needed to clone just as soon as you can cut a few nodes off your good to clone.
