Chinnubie's 1st Soil Grow Using Purple Kush

I was thinking Wolf Spider, possible Recluse but the abdomen detail doesn't bear that out, similar though. My wife FREAKED out she HATES spiders, even looking at them scares her. I thought the jumpers have a little more hair are a bit more compact not long legged like this one. Anyway, thanks for looking and all of your support.

It might be a funnel spider or an aggressive house spider. I don't think it is harmful to humans. It's crunch time my friend. You have made it to harvest!!!!!! Keep your humidity low and temps cooler than normal in the final day(s). Unless you are doing a partial harvest.
Way to go man! You have become an official MJ Cultivator! I'm excited for you and I'm looking forward to your harvest picks and weights.
:bravo: :high-five:

Shadow thanks for the curing details it helped immeasurably, as well as everyone else that helped me throughout this grow. As hard as I tried to really goof this thing up, the 420Mag community was able to keep me sane. I'll post all of the details and pics when we do the deed on Monday. :Namaste: :bravo: :420:

Glad to have ya Axis, you'll be able to see the beginning of the next grow after this one gets harvested on Monday the 30th. I took some final pics of the plants before we take them down.

The real positive that came out and through the leak was the resin production, they have really been producing some yummy smelling terpines. They dry roughly 7-10 days right. I was gonna hang them in a cardboard box and vent it? Good idea? Here's the final pics.

Sorry for the sideways pics but looks like we'll get some nice popcorn to go with those large colas. Any ideas on drying would be most appreciated. :thanks: :420:

Super Nice! Looking tasty, no doubt about it. I would keep the big pumpkin head cola close to a fan when you dry, it will likely hold more moisture due to it's size. I'm not really qualified to tell you any one right way to dry and cure. I'm going to hang mine by the stems. with a fan blowing. Checking them every so often as they dry the stems will become more ridged. If your drying them laying on a surface, you'll want to turn them once in awhile to expose all the bud to moving air. the stems will have a little give to them but when forced, will snap. Listen for the snap. Then you can put it in jars. Have you thought about trying boveda 62 packs? makes your weed pretty much auto-cure. Anyway, Great Job my friend! They look awesome as hell. Can't wait for numbers and of course the Smoke report.

Me either Shadow. The curing won't be all that long as we need our meds and I am really tired of paying street price. After dry I'll store what's needed but won't last long, we go through about a zip a month. I think I've changed my mind on the scrog and will do a 90 day regimen to get to flower after 4-5 weeks. I may try some LST if they'll let me open them up a little to expose as many sites as possible, but probably won't top them, because it sets them back a little and I need to get to flower ASAP. After this I may go get some Fem Auto and grow 4-6 plants depending on the light parameters. Do you know what the average dry weight of Auto's, once their ready for harvest? Ballpark is fine, I'm not going to hold you to anything.

I've never messed with Auto's but I think I remember reading that someone was averaging 3-5 oz's. If I remember right, they were putting them under 12/12 cycle from the start. I'll have to try and find the journal I read that in. I know there are a lot of people here that have lots of experience with Auto's, you shouldn't have any problem finding qualified growers to help you out. Great Job my friend.

Well, we just got done chopping the plants down. I didn't take a wet weight because I'm lazy and already have them hanging up. Here are some pics of the chop.

I took pics of the roots because it was clear they weren't getting what they needed, but then again they were only in there for 100 days you guys tell me what you think, what the hell do I know? I'll give the smoke report next week in the new journal so after comments and what not if the moderators would like to close this one out that's fine by me. :peace:

Those roots are great. Check out the size of that tap root! :thumb:
When you're ready to get the journal moved to complete, make a post that you're ready. Then click on the little triangle with the ! in it next to the rep star, report the post and ask the mods to move it to completed journals.

Nice first harvest!

He's always being too hard on himself. The fact that he made it to harvest and didn't burn the house down or hurt anyone in the process tells me it was a success. He'll loosen up after another grow or two, I think he's a bit of a perfectionist.
:goof:

I have not ever grown an auto but there are 4 in the seeds that are on there way. I see where someone says 3-4 zips but honestly I have only ready a few journals growing autos cause until now it didn't matter to me but the ones I have read all have been about 1 zip dried. I have read they are terribly finicky about any manipulation and don't like being repotted and most get basically 1 big cola and some popcorn.... Please remember I am just regurgitating info I have read and I have not done it myself as of yet so pretty much anyone would have better info than me on this subject. I asked on my journal the other day about growing them and was told to just put em' under a light and feed em' veg nutes for 21 days then switch to blooming nutes and it doesn't matter about darkness (which I don't do anyhow) or changing the light times or anything then let em' bloom.... Sound easy and if it is that easy and all I get is a zip I would be good with that...:goof:....:circle-of-love:

Wow! It looks like a great harvest!
I agree with PeeJay... That tap root is magnificent.....:circle-of-love:

Chin when I harvest I cut all the buds off the limbs and I don't hang it like that anymore. It works fine I just found it easier to go ahead and trim them up as best I can then put them on a drying rack and like said earlier turn them every so often so they don't get flat ugly spots and dry even and I have read that you don't want a fan blowing directly on them so I just turn on the ceiling fan on low and leave them for 2 days and then in jars. I then open the jar every day for 2 weeks for about 30 min twice a day the first week and once a day the second week and shake the jars real good to make sure nothing is sticking to the sides or bunching up with other buds and I make sure I don't stuff the jars but about half full so they have plenty of breathing room. I do use the Boveda humidity packages in my jars and they work wonderfully. I know you will probably go through this harvest pretty quickly but before you know it you will have jars of meds and they really help to keep them fresh and tasty......:circle-of-love:
