I think its giving support to the branches. As the colas get heavier on large plants the branches can snap off the main stalk.

Absolutely correct McBudz:

The branches were / are so big and long I.e.. 6ft + from the main stalk that the shear weight snapped them off. Cannabis can and will still provide nutrients to the snapped branch even if a little piece is attached to th main stem, henceforthe the duct tape, a guy thing works well, have plenty of it. The colas had to be tied up to support all their weight as well throughout the growing season. Each of these trees are capable of producing 2+ Lbs of dried and trimmed flowers.
The Strain is "First Lady" from Sensi Seeds, I have used her for 2 long seasons now and the amount produced is unreal per plant. The Genetics from Sensi Seeds 2 years in a row are and have performed to their best and the consitancy of the strain from Sensi Seeds is and has been reliable as the previous years crop with the same strain. Kudos to Sensi Seeds on their consitent breeding. The smoke is an incredible realiable earthy blonde hash taste, with a hint of white pepper, there is no sweetness to the taste of this variety. The bouquet is an effervesence of sage and lavender with a sweet musk. They are sticky to the touch as the trichrome production is grand. She flowers and stacks real thick, then will finish real fast in the last weeks of flowering. The very Cerebral Heady High is her most common trademark.
