Chef De Green Does It All: Reveg, Clones, Autos & Photos

Hey folks! It’s been a few days since I last did a good garden update, so let’s do it.

First piece of news: tonight will be the Grandpa Glue’s first 12 hour dark period. She’s just too big and I’m worried. So today I went through and cleaned her up. I took of every node on every branch except for a few larger ones on the tallest branches. I also ended up completely removing 2 of her large main branches. They weren’t all the way in the top of the canopy and she was already a touch too big for the flower tent. She’s got 8 mains now so she should produce some excellent quality. Here’s some shots of before and after me cleaning her up.

my Sour Bubba is really lookin good. I gave her another 2 gallons of 5g/gal tonight. I’m really happy with how she’s set her buds. It looks like there’s not gonna be a single larfy bud on her, so that’s perfect. I’ve also removed probably 20 fan leaves in the last couple days just to make sure all the good nodes are not shaded.

Last but not least my Northern Lights has got her button tops going on so she’s in full flower. I took out my big lasko fan cause she was growing right up into it. I’ve been meaning to do that for a while now anyway. No more shade cause of the fan!

Here are the group shots I took. Check out the headroom the GG has. Hopefully she only stretches up to the level of the NL cause I like how well she’s lit up right now.

that’s all for now. I’ve put an It’s It Punch seed to germinate, hopefully she pops up.

If you scarified it and dropped it into a hempy solo cup it will pop up!! Just leave it alone and in 3 days......maybe 4 it will sprout for you.

I’ve done exactly that.

about 60 hours ago I did that to a DDa seed. Today she’s above ground and looking good. She should open up and be ready to go into her final home in another 24-36 hours. I was completely disappointed with my last DDa, she was too neglected to produce anything really good. I like the effect, but I need to smoke like a gram joint to get a full blown feel for the euphoria she produces. I think I can do much better.

You have enough perlite to grow your DDA in a hempy pot? They grow SO WELL in that setup. I think it's the Dollar Tree that sells these and they're perfect.

I have something that size but its grey and not black. It’s a 10qt bucket. Yeah I’ve got a 4 cuft bag of perlite that I’ve probably used 1/4 of. I can do MC hempy?

Here it is, my Sour Bubba about 24 hours after being contorted and put into bondage. I think she likes it, she’s got a ton of tops now :cheesygrinsmiley:

Not the best photos, but just a couple of shots I took in passing today. I’ve been making gummies pretty much all day long. I think I made something like 675 gummies. It was a 3x batch. Tedious work at that kind of volume! I filled each of my 3 mold trays probably 10 times. This recipe went like this;
225g of trim, dried and decarboxylated
1c coconut oil
1T liquid sunflower lecithin
3/4c lime juice
84g gelatine powder
300g sugar
300g corn syrup
(3) 3oz box of cherry jello

*i need to mention that when working with this kind of volume, I needed to heat the mixture much much more than I normally would. It needed to be almost into simmering range so that all of the sugar would melt and all of the gelatin would activate. This is very important for large batches

needless to say I’ve had about 3 square meals of sticky red goo. I haven’t even had the need to smoke or vape. There was even a point that I slowed wayyy down, and had to think about each of my actions in real time. I’ve been floating around in space today. Getting those too many edible butterflies.

I’ll be back tomorrow probably with another update. Y’all need to see the Grandpa Glue, she’s a monster.
Hi Chef, I made some coco oil in the crock last night. Going to make a cup of hot chocolate this morning and wait. Do you have a small batch recipe using solidified oil? Have a great day!

Fredwak, do you have a journal going? If you have some time it might be fun.
I do! :yummy: I have one for my little coco grow and will be starting my greenhouse journal soon. And .....really..... Chef...lots......of.....time.:yahoo:

Very nice, if you can get a link in your signature we can find it? I open a new page with my journal open. Copy the address and paste it into the open signature area in my account in the first open page.

Hey guys!
thanks Otter, like I said I’m super happy with the way the buds set on the Sour Bubba. Not gonna be any larf on that girl.

@Fredwak i can honestly say i don’t know which one is better for coco vs hempy. I’ve never tried either, this is going to be my first hempy grow. I imagine that they’re very similar, the only difference is that hempy has a reservoir in the bottom of the pot so the plant has plenty of water. Coco uses the water retention capabilities to keep the root zone moist. It’s nearly the same (I think). I’ve seen great results with both.

thanks GDB! The Grandpa Glue has really perked up since those shots were taken. She was unhappy with me cause I had just removed a lot of her vegetation. I think my GG is gonna produce nicely, even though she’s a lighter yielder. She’s got exactly 8 big tops that are all nice and even. I’m really looking forward to see her flower out.

One of the plants I haven’t shown you guys in a while is the Xanadu. She’s being a problem child. I’ll post some pictures later today, maybe you guys can help me diagnose what’s going on with her.

Hey everyone, quick update here. I’ve said a few times that I’m going to pop another auto, and well, she popped out of the perlite yesterday. This morning I transplanted her into her final home a 10qt hempy bucket. She’s another DDa. My last DDa was sad and neglected. I owe this chemovar a much better run.

I’m probably gonna need some guidance on this hempy bucket. So far all I’ve done is rinse and charge the perlite with 1.5g/gal of Megacrop. Then I transplanted the sprout. How often will I need to water before she gets a tap root into the reservoir? How often will I need to water after she gets a tap root into the reservoir? Will I need to mess with pH even though I’m using Megacrop? Maybe @beez0404 can help me with these questions.

It's been a long time but I think I can remember enough to get you going good.

#1. Be sure the perlite is kept moist. It wicks the moisture up from the reservoir. With seedlings I believe I would "flush" about every 4 days. I'm anal about PH in my hempy pots and get it as close to 5.5 as I can. The perlite will still be moist on the 4th day but what you're trying to do is keep the PH steady in that crucial 5.5 range and you do this by pouring out whatever is left in the reservoir (without pouring perlite over the top edge) out of the bottom hole and try to get as much out as you can. Then I put a piece of duct tape over the hole and when I water I pour all around the top of the perlite. I don't just pour straight down one spot to fill the reservoir. Then I remove the tape and let the excess escape from the bottom hole. And you're done for the next three days.

#2. When your roots reach the reservoir you will be "refreshing" the liquid about every other day. And every time I give the plant water it has MC mixed in and the PH at 5.5. Remember I'm using MC version 1 so I don't know how that matches up with version 2.0 When my DDA plants in hempy started growing good my every other day feeding was at 5.5 to 6.0 grams per gallon. About every 10 days I would slip 2ml of Cal/Mag in with the MC in a gallon of water.

How high up on the pot did you put your hole? Did you thoroughly wash all the dust off the perlite?

Once your plant begins to put out it's 4th set of permanent leaves up your MC to 3 grams per gallon.

Everything you see above is how I grow in a hempy pot. I do a few things a little differently then some hempy growers but have had good success.

First pic is a Colombian Gold in hempy and next a DDA in hempy.

Yeah those girls look nice. Alright, so I need to be pHing to 5.5, check. every 3 days I’ll replace the rez until the roots make it down there, check.

I put the hole about 2” up from the bottom. I did thoroughly rinse the perlite before I filled the bucket.

okay, 3rd node I’ll go to 3g/gal. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about calmag. I haven’t had to before with my tap water. not with the Megacrop anyway. I’ll keep an eye on it though.

thanks Beez.

every 3 days I’ll replace the rez until the roots make it down there, check.
Every 4 days you replace, flush the liquid giving you 3 days in between. Do it on Monday...…(not on tues, wed, thurs),...…..do it again on Friday.

Up the nute strength when she's putting out her 4th set of permanent leaves.

And she’ll be alright with how much moisture she’s got now? She won’t dry out? I suppose everyday that she survives she’s only getting closer to the water.
