subbed and watching I was thinking about getting some happy frog as Fox Farm is seeming to be a little to hot for autos. Have you always used Happy frog?

Hey there jfault! I use the happy frog when I can get it. I hear it has less nutes than the ocean forrest. I usually just use about any soil I get my hands on.

This is my first auto grow and I do not plan on growing them again. And the only reason for that is I have enough space to have vegitating plants going at all times. It is easy to just keep the flower room at 12/12 all the time and just keep the process going.

Great to have you ride along Popcorn! Should be cutting those autos down very soon and replace with my Veg Girls! They have been ready for a long time now!

Hey CF ! Man Happy Frog is the perfect soil for me. Can't get it over here now, yet they sell that damn TOO HOT Ocean Forest. I've been running all over the place to find good soil for this next grow. Hydro Store sold me some that is supposedly it's equal...it was dry BS. Wish me luck! :thanks:

Re: CF's Northern Lights Blue Auto and OG Kush, Superbud, NL Blue, Chemdawg Soil Grow

Near-inert coco coir is the stuff: Nothing in it until you put it in there, and that's control. It's also the cheapest stuff I can fill a pot with. Being the best and the cheapest is why coir use has been growing so fast.

I get 5kg blocks of dry compressed coir for $11. Expands with water to 2 cubic feet.

I have been reading that from you for years Propa. My mind keeps telling me you can't get something for nothing. I know I would be adding nutes and water, but it just doesn't sound right. Tell you what after this grow I will try it out and see what you have been telling us all. Sure does work for you. :thumb:

It's a shame Cronic...they stopped selling it here!

That Coco Coir sounds great. I would like to try it too! I couldn't get happy frog for the longest time here either. It is only available at one store that is a good drive from my home. I bought 2 bags of Happy Frog and it cost almost $60.00. I have had good luck with the osmocote soil at the local hardware store. Much cheaper and it already has oc mixed in.

Thanks Gator! Next grow I am going to try that stuff. Good to be able to mix in the nutes you need. I heard it is harder to work with. I don't know why because it doesn't have nutes and you can add exactly what you need. Love the price too!

Re: CF's Northern Lights Blue Auto and OG Kush, Superbud, NL Blue, Chemdawg Soil Grow

I am at a crossroads. These autos are taking too long. My veg girls are getting too fat and tall.

I have been cutting branches off one of the autos to keep my wife and I High!! Sucks being out of weed with a closet full of buds!!
Even though these plants could go longer they are tasting very good and are getting us good and high. I checked the trichs and they are still mostly clear with about 10% amber. I am wishing and waiting for the milky trichs to appear. After 20 seconds in the microwave the wet buds from the NL Blue auto are smoke ready. With this awful way to cure the buds still have a really unique taste and have a strong high

Milky Trichs or not, I am going to start harvesting them this weekend to move OG, Superbud, Chemdawg and NL Blue into the flower room. I know they could go longer but I just cannot wait.

About trichs: Too much bullshit about growing weed, IMO. Clear trichs kick your ass? Enjoy

Coir needs to be put in a big container with water. Few hours later needs to be broken up by hand, then rinsed or packed into pots then rinsed. When the tea-color is faded, and the EC out is close the the rinse going in, it's good. Only thing pretty about it is how well it works. I try to keep that principle in mind when I look into my lying-ass mirror.

I never see the soil anyway during flower in my small little closet! After they get to a certain hieght I have to aim and pour with the water jug! It is that tight of a space in there!

Thanks for the input on the clear trichs. I am going to pull my first one today. The one my wife has been repeatedly vandalizing with her sticky trichy fingers!!

Re: CF's Northern Lights Blue Auto and OG Kush, Superbud, NL Blue, Chemdawg Soil Grow

Update on the Closet Farm!

I now have a full drying rack of NL Blue Auto buds. These buds are not as hard as the regular photo period plants. They have been drying for about 20 hours and the small popcorn buds are already smokeable! Rock hard buds or not this smoke really does pack a punch and it also has a unique taste that I never had before. It is hard to describe but I will try my best when I do the smoke report!

I have 4 Autos left. When I went to check on them this morning I had 3 branches laying on the floor. I added more hemp string to help support them.

The Veg Girls are getting real Big! I cannot wait to get them in the closet!

Re: CF's Northern Lights Blue Auto and OG Kush, Superbud, NL Blue, Chemdawg Soil Grow

Longer you let them stretch in veg, the more LST & 'super cropping' you'll have to do. There's no loss IMO, to a slightly hurried harvest. Everyone who tastes my clear-cut PE wants more :) No amber required. If you're due for a long trim session, procrastination won't help.

When your timing is on target, there's no un-due loss of production time. Your autos look heavy :yahoo:

They are heavy. I just had to add a few more stings to hold up the branches. I have an auto trimmer that I use. I am going to take the rest of the plants down on Saturday. These buds on the plants seem to be bulking more every day now.

The taste of the clear trich NL Blue Auto is absolutely fantastic. The buds are not that pretty but it has a real long lasting high too. Thanks Propa Gator!!
