Here is my Candida in the making!

Hey folks, can I get a CBD seed recommendation please? My wife has responded better to vaped flower of a CBD Kush strain over a CBD Skunk Haze strain (both CBD Crew grown by a Canadian LP). She's responded to CBD oil. I'm going to grow Candida - will be germinating in the next few days - but was looking for an indica CBD suggestion.

This is for treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis flares by the way, if that makes a difference. Bonus points if the strain works well both vaped and made into a topical ointment.

Side note - I grow indica for myself and can mix strains for best results if needed.

A good mix is preferred

There are some great 2/1 and 3/1 CBD/THC strains

Leafly is a great source for searching strains. Then look at yer favorite seed bank and see what's available

Candida is a fantastic CBD only strain, well it's 20/1, it mixed with a high THC Strain would be a great medication

I'm drying about an ounce of LA Confidential now. Thinking of running Violator Kush next to Candida, so that's an option for blending.

I have some Nordle flower coming, so if that works well it'll be an option for growing a "complete" strain.

Any strain will work in a topical, but for pain relief your blending should give you the best results. It's the THC that'll hit the pain immediately. If you can get a strain high in beta-Caryophyllene it might work better since the terpene can activate CB2 receptors, which would be the ones that would be countering inflammation. Worth giving it a thought.

For pain relief topicals I'd recommend a ratio higher in THC than CBD. When you finally get to making a topical I'd appreciate it if you'd share the results with us. :battingeyelashes:

HARVEST HAS BEGUN!!

CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 has been chopped and will be processed in a number of ways.

Wet weight, before wash.

Don't you just love what we do? :laughtwo:

yes it is...Harley is SUPPOSED to be Sativa dominant. This makes 3/3 that have expressed indica..ish

Hmmmm...... Scorpio had the same problem with his order of DDA seeds, all turned out to have no color, an anomaly that's supposed to only happen 20% of the time. It's such a pot shoot, eh? For the longest time I thought all of my Carnivals would be more indica leaning in leaves, and then one day a sativa pheno sprouted and I haven't looked back.

Dare to have the same expectation mouser. :battingeyelashes:

Had a harvest yesterday. :cheesygrinsmiley: I took down the CBD Critical Cure 2.1.1 on day 143, 63 days in bloom. I believe this was my most beautiful specimen of the strain. :battingeyelashes:

It made for a long and busy day. Washing, drip-drying and then on to trimming the buds from the branches. This branch, fully intact, will hang to dry for the next week and then be deep sized into darkness for a two month stay with the Ultra Dawg hanging beside her. They're a week apart, so once I seal up the CBD CC it won't be opened for two months, except to check after a couple day to assure myself there's no mold.

49 grams found their way into the fridge for low and slo drying.

212 grams went into the new dehydrator to try Luweedgi's flash drying techniqe. It won't be opened for 48 hours. If all goes well I'll have fresh buds with lots of trichomes in about five days.

The final 100 grams got blended into 125 ml of EVOO and processed into FHO.

IMG_071559.JPG

I ended up with just over 50 ml of oil and a dish of mash to munch on a little a day.

IMG_074858.JPG

That was the most diversified harvest processing to date. Long gone appreciate the days when I simply wash and line dry for a week. :laughtwo: I chopped at 7:30 and went to bed at 1:15. Almost all of the waking hours were involved in the harvest processing, in one way or another.

It it was also the most satisfying harvest day on memory. 466 grams wet translates into something akin to 3 ounces dry. Well worth the time she spent under the artificial sun

My Candida seed was germed and planted on the weekend and has broken ground. She's well on her way! I'll see if I can get a few pics posted on the weekend to show initial progress. I'm running Violator Kush, Royal Gorilla and Critical Plus next to it, so hopefully we'll have some good blending options in the new year.

We had some Nordle flower arrive yesterday for my wife to try. We'll keep sampling and watching here before settling on another CBD option. For my next run.

Currently soaking - going into its new home first thing in the morning . .

Soil, hydro, or hempie? :battingeyelashes:

I hope the Nordle works for her. I've only heard happy rumblings about it.

From the Florida Cannabis Coalition's 2017 Canna Ed Day:

Note the difference in half life. THC, 7 days, CBD, 9 hours.

Soil, hydro, or hempie? :battingeyelashes:

evidence of things not seen ...

:rollout:

The best organic soil mix i could find locally, added perlite (maybe 15%, maybe less, I dunno - I'm newish to this gardening caper) - sprinkled a handful of Osmo+ organic through in layers, trying to be more generous to the bottom and sides of the pot. GeoPot is 19litres. theres a column of seed raising mix in the middle, hard to see so I put a circle about where it is - it's about 10cm deep. New addition is, hopefully, pointy end down & about 1-1.5 cm deep - breaking her shell. I soaked overnight but when I got up this morning it was still floating even though I tapped it down into the water gently a few times with the tweezers... I thought it'd sink after that... Anyway, I tapped it lightly this morning and it sank pretty quickly so I let it be for a few hours and then dropped it into the pot. It's an auto so that's it's home for life.

back to the US Open replays  (yep I eat a lot of popcorn)

Hey folks - how wet should I be keeping the seed raising area while waiting for the seed to pop? I'm trying to keep it pretty moist without soaking it... just using a sprayer/mister ATM.

So nerve wracking... .

I have had similar success with many methods of sprouting... soak --> towel -->dirt, just dirt, towel --> dirt, coco pellet in solo sitting in clay pellets with dilute clonex solution. Except for the coco pellet grows (the harley nordle seedlings recently posted) where the plug was sitting in about 1/2" of solution the whole time, once I stuck the bean in soil I have only misted until the helmet was off and true leaves were forming.

Dilute Clonex solution = 1 capful in 500ml
