I am from the conservative side of the growing technique fence when it comes to autos but my limited knowledge could already be outdated as things change so fast these days.
Like you, I'm also quickly closing in on maximum height limitations and although my current grow is a photosensitive strain we share a common concern. Backbuilding may be an option for a little height control later in the grow cycle. I have two plants with very a similar phenotype. They could almost be clones. I may do some backbuilding this grow and leave the one plant as a control.

You will get the gist of it in the very first post
The height saved will be minimal at best in the grand scope of things. However, one inch of space needed is a lot when you have zero and the sum of a lot of little actions is often greater and more stable than that of one big action.

Catman,
You posted this on my journal and I meant to ask you want you meant by it:
"....I kind-of forgot about the harvesting part... (?) "
is this still the case? What do you mean by this?
I pull my girlfriend's dyed hair off my buds all the time. She sheds like a husky. But who am I to say that, so do I. I just keep my hair up lol
Hey mate, the girls are looking great!

I agree.
The bending I do in stages.
1. Tie up and tie off: Stockings work for me. Knot the anchor point loop around the branch and back to the tie point on the rim/wall/whatever.
2. Start the bend and tie off. I use a slip knot at the tie off end...this way I can tighten a bit at a time... Then apply a little bend...just enough to start the move...not the whole bend.
3. Go and have a couple!
4. Come back and tension a little. Tie off. Repeat.!
If I'm nervy about a branch, it gives time for the branch to 'bend' or 'adjust' itself slowly rather than me taking the branch all the way and risk a 'snap'...
what i do. down to 1 finger typing.
How high are you keeping your lights now?
Your girls are looking great catman.,
On the question of running out of room.. My last auto was subjected to LST. I bent the main over big time, then more braches developed off of that.. She did have a bit of a strop for a few days after, but after the strop/new branch grow time... She was off again like the clappers...
Anyway my friend, its going brilliantly, long may it continue
