Cart's Official 2x2 And 2x4 Journal

Here’s a quick update for day 4 of flip
I was gonna start counting March 1st day 1. But I’m not seeing a complete enough transition yet. So maybe Friday will start true day 1. Gotta water garlic and amnesia mother today ec 1.4

I'm no help. In my current soil grow I'm just sticking to the @Prescription Blend nute schedule. In DWC I measure the change in EC to determine if they need more or less.

I have question on ec. What do you guys normally flower with? I’m planning on 1.4? Would that be too high or low? Or should I just find out and see strain dependence?
So, because my memory is ahh, terrible I just want to confirm, you are in a coco mix?
And I can't quite say that my numbers will do much good for you. Differences in mediums, and nutes can be a big difference in PPM. I've gone through flowering low (trying one in low PPM right now, only 600PPM) and I've also done it at over 1000PPM.
Also using recharge and grow dots or should I stick with earth juice bloom and superthrive? Any recommendations?
To be honest, if the grow dots work (I've no clue), then I think it might just come down to preferences.
Sorry, I know I'm not that helpful, and wish I could be more helpful on this.

Understood. I should’ve known you were in dwc. I’m just don’t know if I was to jump from .8, .9 to 1.4. I’d cause me issues. I’ll just gradually increase to be safe.

No. Very helpful. Thankyou. I’ll just be safe about it and not make anything to harsh. Iv never used grow dots or recharge before. I might just save that for the 2x2 and next batch of flowering girls. My ec is .8 right now but I’m starting to see a N deficiency coming on. So I’ll jump to 1.1, 1.2 then so forth.

your ec should actually be in the same ballpark as other nutes for this stage.

this handy little chart was posted earlier today

it's about where i've been on other grows with different nutes give or take +/- about 100ppm. you can convert from ppm for ec.

What scale ppm is this. 500x or 700x?

I think my tds is x500. But I’ll check. I never use ppm anymore. To confusing on international forums

i agree. for some reason they stick to ppm on US forums.
the posted chart would be 700 scale. i can't be certain but i think that's the default north american scale.

my pops tested water samples for years and that's the scale the company used as well.

edit : i personally run just a hair hotter

Gotcha. Thankyou. I’ll use that as a base. Let the plants tell me if anything otherwise. :)

i only ever use ec on an occasional basis to see if i'm in range. once you get dialed in on a nute line it falls by the wayside. you'll live by it more in dwc or rdwc than any other media.

edit : i tested for ec twice in my entire last grow. both times in flower as we were on a rail and running warm.

Iv done buckets before. I’m thinking of taking a swing at one or 2 in the future again. But I’m loaded with plans for the year. Which is fine. I like that

i'm running hempy now but have a lifetime supply of promix stacked in my folks yard lol
my pops prefers hempy at the moment. i'd like to branch elsewhere as i get real bored doing the same thing over and over :p

what exactly is your media btw ?

i'm assuming it's an hp type which would put the chart correct. if you have a pre-nuted media that may not work.
even in hp you can run a hair cooler too. i'm hot cause of how i push the plants / lighting etc. i don't recommend most folk to push it as hard as i do.

Mc mixed with ewc and seed starting mix. I watered today at 1.2. I’m almost certain my akogs can handle hotter. But I’ll see in the response. All I can do.

day 6 of flip.
DAY 1 OF ACUAL FLOWER.

Ok. I’m marking on the calendar today being day 1 of flower. This is what I consider that plant to be in its fully transitioned state. Transferring hormones from veg to flower. I see the over all structures stiffen and strengthen up. Nodes alternate close and staggered.
And top looks clustered and no new fan leaves are growing. 69 days to go.

Day 2 flowering, 68 to go.

Increased ec to 1.2 will go to 1.4 then to 1.6. Plants are responding well to the increase in nitrogen. I’m not adding any bloom until week 4. Won’t be cutting any grow out until final week of flower. I feed till the end

Not much to add other than minor deficiencies that are working itself out with the higher ec.

2x2 update

Transplanted blue dream in to her bigger pot. Because she was most ready. Also hung up my new light. This one has the newer ORASAM chips (if I spelled that right) plus a dimmer. The other light was a cheap Amazon board with all or nothing feature. This light I can run at 1-100% which I prefer. I don’t like running anything in life boa-red out to a 100. I will transplant the other 2 when I get back from the city.
