Carnival: A Community Grow Experience

Here is my Carnival.

2 days ago I just had a "bad feeling" like she would not grow...and then my Deep Cheese was born... in the evening the same day... my "feeling" started to change when I looked at my Carnival....
Today I looked at her and I felt tremendous joy !!!
Of course I could not wait.... so I took a toothpaste and just gently gently moved some soil on my Carnival.... and I saw something that soooon will reach surface :circle-of-love:

I can't compete with those beautiful plants but here is my Carnival.

You've been misinformed ween. :battingeyelashes:  She's a beauty all her own. She's on the verge of a massive growth spurt. Wait until you see what she does in flower. :laughtwo:

Time to let you all see how mine are coming along. They're at Day 16 now. I have them under Gas Lantern Routine.

They got a light TransWater drench today. Sometime in the next week they'll probably get upcanned. #1 is on the left.

So I'm thinking they're asking to be topped. What do you all think?

#2 is almost begging to be topped.

#1 is still a couple days behind in development.

Off with their heads sue! They look lovely by the way. I'll get some of ours up tomorrow night. Such a beautiful strain.

Thanks nis. They do have the most beautiful structure. They feel like cannabis royalty to me. :laughtwo:

When I run kit plants I tend to train them the way Graytail trained me to. This is a departure from that approach, hence my hesitation, but I'm thinking they'll be growing in the shorter tent, where the first one had the full 7'. I don't need to be challenged vertically, so it behooves me to think in terms of keeping them low through veg.

I'll top them tomorrow.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised about what the kit will do for you, ween. Your plant looks nice and happy.

Thanks noob! Looking forward to getting started with the kit for sure! :high-five:

Thanks Sue! I do think she is the best looking plant I've had so far. I am wondering why mine look very different than yours, my leaves are long and skinny while yours are short and wide. Is that common? Same strain different look?

I think you're mostly seeing the difference in early lighting. SweetSue keeps CFLs down close on top of her seedlings, so they don't grow very long internodes like yours. I'm guessing you have less light on yours ... ?

But I've seen three distinct phenos so far. There's one that's a little stretchy - not a lot - and one that stays compact and short. Then I also saw an odd leafy one, similar to the short pheno but way too leafy - that one may have just been a funky one. I've grown both phenos, the stretchy one twice, with multiple clones. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:Namaste:

[Edit] Ween, I'm going to butt in and give some unsolicited advice - with the familiar caveat about it being worth what you paid for it ... :cheesygrinsmiley: ...

Your plant looks like it's in a very nice position for some LST if you have the inclination. It looks to me like you could bend the two tops down and bring the other two up and get a nice level canopy with more of the plant involved in it. If you continue the way it is, that pair at the bottom are going to get rapidly outgrown. But you can bring them up to equal and get two more strong branch/colas if you can get them level with the other two tops. :slide: Like two ends of a hose with water in it, the plant is able to tell which tip is higher than the others and the growth hormone will go to that tip. You can use that to fiddle with growth rates on the branches.

Hi Graytail!

Please don't hesitate to give me unsolicited advice, it's much appreciated! I will get on doing some LST. I've been wanting to but I just transplanted and topped them and wanted to give em a little time to adjust, they're in good shape so will tie em down soon.

They did start off under 1 cfl which I tried to keep close and one of them has very close node spacing (the white widow X big bud.)

I don't think I want to run scrogs this time around so may need some help with my training.

:thanks:

I start mine out with at least two CFLs per plant. I'm anal about those tight internodes.

We can help you with the training ween. Easy stuff. :battingeyelashes:

Time to post mine here, I guess, eh? :yahoo:

They're growing in Doc Bud's HighBrix Blend kit soil under the Budmaster GOD 6. I expect they're going to kick ass. I topped them about a week or so ago and let them rest before they got transplanted from solo cups into the one gallon pots, which meant they got their first TransWater drench. Yesterday they got a Destress foliar and exploded in growth overnight.

Looking pretty good so far. I can't tell you what a relief it is to get these two going. I suspect this strain will be my go-to meds for oil and my own personal daily use, so that the Dark Devil Auto can settle into being my recreational drugs. :woohoo:
