Thanks Stone! Yeah it's a very small misdemeanour down here, anything under 12 plants is like a $100 fine or something.
They didn't find any of my nutes or anything like that.
But yeah, they left all my lighting rig and heat setup here, not much they can do about that, it's completely legal.

Hey @TassieTurtleman so long as you're ok. I'm really sorry that has happened to you. Everything else is secondary. It is disappointing that we won't have a comparative grow, but you are safe and that is the main thing.

I can't argue, I've had a bit of a bad run lately. I'll say one thing though, My girl and I have never been in a better place, she stays here pretty much every night, she wants to be with me 24/7, I love her to bits, things couldn't be better in that aspect of my life.
But yeah, the car crash, the raid, that's some seriously bad luck, I must've smashed a few mirrors in my childhood

Aw thank you for the thought! I contacted the camera people and they told me that the model has reached its end of life and is no longer supported. By the time I have couriered the thing back and forth for quote and repair (with not guarantee of that), I may as well have bought a used model from somewhere reputable. I'm hoping a family member may have an older spare he could sell me. I am so hesitant to buy second hand with all the scams that people have got going. I cannot afford new. I've been looking at prices of Canon, which are so much cheaper than Nikon here. The only darn trouble is that my lenses fit Nikon. I could sell my lenses I guess but replacement would end up a costly exercise and that is simply a no can do. So

Yep, I understand the cameras are beyond the repair time by dealers. I had to replace the shutter mechanism on one of mine a few years ago. UGH! Hundreds of tiny screws, ribbons, soldering....it worked...but I will NEVER do that again.
If you look at used be sure to ask for the shutter count. A reputable seller will know how to do this and provide it to you. High shutter counts means shutter mechanism wear and tear.
Another thing, you can buy lens mount adapters to fit your lenses to other camera brands. Look into that.

I believe I ran into that when I bought a Canon lens mount adaptor for my first Nikon. Some did allow the AF to work, and some didn't. Be sure to ask the seller or look in to the details of the unit. Or call a camera shop for help.
The camera shops here are few and far between, and don't like questions unless you're spending a ton of money. LOL

I don't really use the AF much, I prefer manual anyway.

My favorite was a Canon EOS Rebel (I can't remember the number of the model) I had to sell it during a financial crisis, and by the time I got to a point of investing into a DSLR again, I had to buy used. The D7100 was a good buy and I had been gifted some Nikon lenses. It was a learning curve between the two, but I'm with you on the Canon being a more user friendly piece of equipment.
