Greetings fellow growers & consumers!
Welcome to a fun comparative grow between two southern hemisphere cannabis enthusiasts! One an Antipodean and the other an African.
South Africa and Australia are at the bottom of the world and we have summer when the northern hemisphere has winter. We also get to see the southern lights, The Australis Borealis, whilst the northern hemisphere sees the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis.
@TassieTurtleman and I have decided to do a combined journal growing the same strains from the same breeder. We have selected the following strains by Victory Seeds who are not a direct sponsor, but Tassie bought his seeds from @Herbies Seeds who are a sponsor of 420 Mag. I bought my seeds from a South African vendor.
"Big Angel auto
Sex: feminized autoflowering
Genotype: Sativa/Indica/Ruderalis
Cross: Big Angel x Jack Herer Auto
Indoor flowering period: 7-8 weeks
Outdoor harvest time: 11 weeks
Indoor yield: 500 g/m2
Outdoor yield: 50-300 g/plant
Height: 90-170 cm
T: 20%
C: Medium
It is a 3rd generation autoflowering strain. This hybrid is the result of crossing our Big Angel with a Jack Herer auto. Those strains base on Mexican, Colombian, Thai and Indian sativa, mixed with USA indica and Shiva Skunk. Other more known/popular ancestors, that can be found in this strains huge family tree are Original Haze, Northern Lights #5 and Jack Herer.
This strain can be grown indoors or outdoors. Indoors it finishes the flowering period after 7 to 8 weeks. It can produce up to 500 grams per square meter indoor. Outdoors it is ready to be harvested 11 weeks after planting. It produces from 50 and up to 300 grams per plant outdoor. The height of her previous version was increased, so the plants reach the height between 110 and 170 centimetres, with numerous large side branches. The thickness and density of the buds was also increased, and they turn up to be spectacularly loaded with aromatic resin.
The buds, that are thickly covered in resin, can contain an impressive 20 % of T and a medium amount of C. They have an incense-like aroma with a citric and lemon hints in the background. The stable indica to sativa proportionality in this strain, makes it good for daytime or night time use.

Super Mazar auto

This strain originates from Afghani indica, Mexican and Colombian sativa. Later on, Skunk #1 was mixed once more with Afghani indica, to produce Super Mazar. In the end, our Super Mazar was mixed with an unknown ruderalis strain, to get this beauty.
Mazar is a triple prize winner, high yields and soft taste. It can be grown indoors or outdoors. Indoors, the flowering period ends after 7 to 8 weeks, and the plants will produce up to 550 grams per square meter. Outdoors, the flowering period ends in 11 weeks after planting the seed. A single plant will produce from 60 to 250 grams per square meter. It reaches from 90 to 190 centimetres in heights, depending on the space and conditions it grows in.Auto Super Mazar is a typical Indica, a strong-growing dense plant with big leaves and high yields. It is a robust strain of superior quality when outdoors. The stable genetics ensure that Auto Mazar is resistant to pests and diseases.
The flavour and aroma of this resinous variety are that of an original earthy and woody Indica. The buds can contain up to 18 % of T and 0.1 % of C. The intense “body-high” is very pleasant. Auto Super Mazar is a must for all Indica lovers. Highly recommended."
Tassie will do a chem grow and I will do an organic grow. Both of us will be indoors all things being equal.
