Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Happy New Year, carcass!

Happy new year carcass!
Right back at ya,BL...sorry to hear your daughter is not having a good day-Hope it's something minor-I always felt helpless when my kids were sick....I'd do what I could for them, but it still involved a lot of time just watching them slowly get better, which always seemed to take way too long...
Happy New Year Mr. Carcass!
Thank You Chef- I hope your year is off to a great start!
Happy New Year, carcass!
Thank you,Al ....And Happy New Year to you and yours!
Hope 2020 is a good one for you! :thumb:

Good morning, VG -that put a smile on my face this morning!

Yes,finally!... Hope you're having a good morning,HH...and since it's Monday....
this would be a good time to do a little update on the sprout situation...

I haven't been on here much this last week- My son was visiting from Az,and I spent alot of time with him, since I only see him a couple of times a year...good times:)

The sprout is doing fine,10 days old ,already up-potted,and enjoying 2g of Mega Crop...
1577732084733.jpeg

Not sure what to call it-it's a homemade Cheese x bagseed#4 cross...
It's growing well-I up-potted because the roots were growing out the bottom of the solo cup at 7 days old,so I figured why wait....it's in it's 3 gallon permanent home now,and loving it.

**Edited-had the wrong pic^^

It's a regular (non fem) seed, so there's that 'might be a boy' thing going on,but I'll treat it like a lady till it shows me otherwise....
So the plan is was to just grow out the one plant, to see how well it can do having the entire, massive, :) 2'x2' space all to itself....

And that was the plan for a week or so, then this happened...this pic is from Saturday night
1577733795143.jpeg

I'd given up on these on day 7, and they both sprouted on day 10 -(27th)
This kind of puts the kaibosh on my original plan...
I fed them 2g of Mega Crop on Saturday-some of the mix I had leftover from the older seedling- they seem to like it just fine..(pic from today)
1577734193321.jpeg

These are from 3 year old homemade seeds- LowRyder#2 x Northern Lights/Afghani-so I have to grow at least one out (there's 2 in there because I was pretty sure they weren't viable:straightface:)

Obviously, the plan has changed- I had hoped one of them would be a little sickly,so culling it wouldn't be a problem...but, of course, they're both doing extremely well....so I'll have to decide how to proceed- probably just do a 2 plants 1 pot thing, since one, or both could potentially end up male (my first indoor grow,3 of 3 were males-)

That's where I'm at today.... By this time next week, the new seedlings should be in their forever home, and training should have begun on the older one...at least that's the plan right now...

Before my son left to head back to Az, He asked me if by any chance I might have some of that Peyote Critical left...(gave him some on Thanksgiving) so I made him up a little care package of Peyote Critical,Northern Lights,Purple Punch, and GDPxGumberry- should hold him till April, when He comes back for my youngest son's wedding (reception at my house)...

Thanks for looking-I appreciate your support!
See you back here next week-good growing to everyone!:peace:
Super excited to follow along. Some reason it wasn't giving me notifications..
Im glad brother you had some time with your son.

Super excited to follow along.
It's great to have you here,Sparkey....
Can we have a baby sprout pic?
Good Morning,HH ! And a Happy New Year to you!
As it happens, I did take a few pics this morning because I was going to do a little quadline prep and top the bigger plant, but I decided to wait another day for the nodes to stretch out a little more...
So here's the BSxC today: (13 days old today)
1577990848486.jpeg

And a side shot-I'm going to top above the 3rd node, but there's not quite enough room to get the clippers in there without snipping the little baby branches on node 3 - so I'll give it one more day...I'll also shave off node #1 at the same time...

♫♪♫.. Baby Sprouts do-do-do-do-do-do ...♫♪♫ ..... (sorry- couldn't help it :))

And here's the little ones....I guess they're doing ok....seem kinda small for day 6.
1577991539226.jpeg

I'm going to let both of them grow in the same pot when I transplant- they were kind enough to sprout
for me, so they both get to keep growing... at least until I find out if they're girls or boys....

That's all for today, but I'll post some pics tomorrow when she gets topped....
Have a great day,everyone!

Awww...baby pics!
Unplanned babies....or,like I say about my youngest son- bonus babies!
Beautiful babies Cass
Thanks,Candy-now I just need them to start growing a little!

While I'm here...Today was topping and node-shaving day for the not-so-little plant,so I took a few pics of the carnage....

Before topping: (Bagseed#4xCheese,14 days old)

And after:

Node 1 got shaved off too:
1578079317366.jpeg

Ouch!

This is the same way I trained my last 2 autos-just going to be a quadline, but I use nodes 2&3 to help keep the plant a little shorter...
I considered leaving node 1 and doing a hexline (6 branches) ,but decided that I'll wait till a future grow to do that-

Had a pleasant surprise in the mailbox yesterday evening... @SeedsMan sent me out some replacement seeds, and told me they'd be here on the 2nd - I figured with the holidays and stuff,I'd be lucky to get them by the 10th...but they showed up yesterday, just like they said they would-that's some damn good customer service!

So here's what I chose to get (I liked those last autos,so I'm going to grow a few more)
1578080449189.jpeg

That's about all I've got today....
It'll be a few months before I can grow any of these-unless all 3 I've got going now turn out to be males-then it'll be a little sooner.
My first grow in the box,all 3 ended up to be males, so it can happen....probably won't happen twice, but you never know....

That's about all I've got today...
Thanks for looking- Have a great day! :peace:

Nice detailed work on that topping!
Thanks,Shed -My 20x glasses and headlamp helped me out a little...I wear bifocals, but I can't see squat close up with them,so this is my surgery kit. I also used Mrs.C.'s tiny little pointy scissors, but I had to put them back before she noticed they were gone...
1578084410811.jpeg

nobody puts Klein in a corner!
The headlamp was a Christmas present from my son (not that you're half blind or anything,dad...) -I think my plant grew a little while I was shining that thing at it...that sucker is bright!

:ciao:

I love headlamps, I use them for trimming, they’re completely invaluable.

everybody is looking great! I Wouldn’t worry about how big the baby girls are, some strains take longer to get going than others.

You know, if you wanted to separate them, you could let them grow a couple weeks, then transplant them and when you do, slice directly downwards in between them with a chef knife. Yes you’ll cut roots off of each plant, but they’ll both survive (most likely) and you’ll have separates them.

If you can cut roots cleanly with a sharp knife, you can definitely separate them. You prune mother plants roots like this every few months.

You know, if you wanted to separate them, you could let them grow a couple weeks, then transplant them
I was considering it,but one is growing like it should, and the other is just...not- so I'm probably going to cull the runt....
I just work with dry dirt and roll and shake and bump and tap until I get them apart.
Thanks,Shed ! I didn't even know that was possible till I saw you do it-
Ultimately though (like in 6 weeks or so) I won't have room in there for 3 plants,so it's not a problem that the one isn't going to make it.
And growing outside isn't an option until April, after my son's wedding reception in my backyard.

I think that not cutting them would make for a faster recovery.
I think you're right- to tell you the truth-I thought the roots would just die if they dried out like the ones in your pics-so I learned something there-the heartiness of these plants never ceases to amaze me!
