Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

Beautiful GSC and excellent tutorial on how to get everything flat, the Carcass way!
Thank you, Shed! I can already tell that that GSC is going to take to the training real well!
Nice writeup, Carcass. Very easy and clear to understand.
Thanks, Azi- That's what I was hoping for! This whole grow will be one big tutorial, I hope to keep things clear all the way to the end so someone can try it if they want...
Go babies, Go!!
Well, thank you, "special" lady...
Fingers crossed for a couple sprouts later today!

Great explain on the stick use, sir!
Thank you, GDB!

Hey C Weed!

Those instructions are so well explained!

I’m hopefully six days off putting my first Carhook™️ to plant! Hopefully Cleo will be ready.

PS thank you for the many subtle just go bit by bit referencing with your carhooking. I’m gonna go so slow! There will be no accidental amputations!

You’re the BEST!

First, the GSC was topped 6 days ago, up-potted to a 5 gallon pot on Saturday, and today the branches are finally long enough to tie down.

Here she is before any training - as I said before, she is a very healthy little plant- seems real happy with 3g/gallon of mc..
1.jpg

So, before you start training, locate/manufacture 8 of these, or something similar, to hold the branches down...We start with 8, going to need a lot more of 'em as the training progresses...
2.jpg

Then, we need to open the top up a little ...
3.jpg

Then we start carefully tying branches down, starting with the bottom node, which is actually node 2, since node 1 got shaved off because it wasn't growing worth a crap......
We're not trying to bend the branches flat right now- we're just going to bend them down a little, and then a little more an hour or so from now- go about it gradually, and you won't break anything off...

4.jpg

Then up to node#3- same thing, be careful- remember, we're just bending them down a little at this time,
in an hour or 2, you can bend them down a little more if you want...
5.jpg

And finally, node#4 - be extra careful with these, as they tend to break off a lot easier than the other branches.
6.jpg

So, here's what we end up with- 6 branches (and 2 fan leaves) tied down
7.jpg

Here's what you should see from above the plant--it looks a little confusing, but you know what all the sticks are doing, so it shouldn't be..
7a.jpg

That took about ten minutes to do, so it's not real time consuming- however- you'll need to check and adjust the hooks every day or so, and add more as needed, so it is something of a commitment, but it's worth it in the end....
Any questions about the training, don't be afraid to ask!

It's too bad Perpetual Grow Journals are no longer eligible for Grow Journal of the Month contests because this ⬆︎ is pure gold.

Thanks, Trala!
Hopefully Cleo will be ready.
I think she will be- she's looking real good! And if she needs a few extra days, no biggie, we've got all Summer!
because this ⬆︎ is pure gold.
Thank you for the kind words, HashGirl
This is my first "instructional" grow, and I'll try and do a good job all the way through!

Annnnd, while I'm here- this happened this morning-74 hours from soak to sprout:
2 seeds, 2 sprouts.......how in the hell did that happen?:hmmmm:
Wookiees-DDA 4-19-22.jpg

One nice thing about growing in a cardboard box- all you need is a couple of paperclips, and you can hang stuff anywhere...:)
They'll hang in the box for 2 weeks or so, then they go outside...
Summer 2022.jpg

That's all for today- I hope everyone's having a nice week so far!

I’m actually praying you update every step of the way! If that means daily, twice daily, thrice daily, I hope you will share the steps.

This is such a terrific opportunity to learn. It’s basically a painting class with Da Vinci, except we have swapped canvass with dirt, paint with seeds, and our paintbrushes are Carhooks™️.

I simply can’t thank you enough. I think you hands down grow the best plants I’ve ever seen, and if my Wedding Cake is even half as sculpted, I’ll be so stoked.

This is my first "instructional" grow, and I'll try and do a good job all the way through!
And keep in mind that the last thing you need here is a heckler. (I haven't forgotten!)

Thanks, Shed!
Ooh, a Tuesday update!
It doesn't happen very often...but 2 sprouts from 2 seeds is an occasion in this house!

I’m actually praying you update every step of the way!
I'll try and make it the next best thing to being there...:)

And keep in mind that the last thing you need here is a heckler.

Ha! just keep this in mind... :)

**I'm never mean- I've just been looking for a place to use this, and this is close enough...

Good morning C Superstar

I’m so grateful! And when you look at people online in here, there are sometimes up to 2000 guests. You don’t know, you might be helping every one of those people. You could become a grow legend! I mean you’re already one to us, but how funny is the thought of someone in say France talking to a friend with a skewer and some wire and saying “C'est un crochet pour voiture ™️“ - this is a Carhook™️.

I reckon you help 1000’s of people!

Yay!
My baby is a California girl!

Can't wait to see if your DDA is a mutant or not.

Think these are all coming up "normal" from what I've seen so far. J's look normal.
The older stock that was used for the reversal plant gave me nothing but weirdos.

Those seeds are 7+ years old though and I'm not sure how well they were stored. They went through a few growers' hands before they got to me.

Don't worry too much if you do get a little mutant. All the mutants that I sprouted grew up to be really nice plants in the end.
My POTM (July 2020) was one of them...

I reckon you help 1000’s of people!
Well, as long as it helps you, I'll consider it a success.
I know a guy...
I'll keep your number handy!
My baby is a California girl!
She is! Thanks again, VG-I've been wanting to grow a DDa for a loooonng time!
Those seeds are 7+ years old though and I'm not sure how well they were stored.
Actually, the DDa sprouted a few hours ahead of the Wookiees, so she's rarin' to go!
She looks normal so far, but she's only 3/4" tall ..I predict good things for her, she just has that "look"
Bringing in the new! Yay!
Thanks, Stone! And they both made it before 4/20!
