Carcass' $150 Low Budget Grow 2019

leaving the door of the tent partially open to keep the humidity down.
I actually have no humidity control- mine sits between 30-40% for the entire grow- I've tried wet towels and a few other things to bring it up, but they only help a little, and for a very short time, so I've adopted an "it is what it is" attitude, since the too-low humidity doesn't seem to have a detrimental effect on my plants...at least not yet...
Wish I had a suggestion for you, but I have zero experience with too-high humidity:straightface:
Love the guard kitty, we had one that was like that with my outdoor plants, always over there whenever I was.
Yeah, he's funny- when I bring the plant in at night he gets all weird and acts like he's afraid of it- but outside, he has no problem with it...he's a little odd:)
I also did a small how-to in my current journal I'll link below,
Thanks for that, @dick23rk !
I use a shop (wet) vac to suck up my run off out of the saucers.
That's a good idea, Dutch!
I think there's a pretty good one in my signature.
Yes there is - Thanks, Shed!

So after you water do you have to run your carbon scrubber exhaust or do you run it all the time?
I‘m only running mine to control the heat and or humidity. l also water in the tent and my humidity has spiked up into the 70’s and 80’s after watering until I opened it up.

Hi,Nev-
No carbon scrubber on my box- just an exhaust fan, which runs 24/7...Sometimes it gets a little stinky in the house, if it gets too bad I open the window and close the door to the back room...
My humidity in the grow box might go up a point or 2 directly after I water, but it always drops back down
after the surface of the pot dries out a little.
I either water the plants in the shower, or I take them outside- I usually let them drain for an hour or so before they go back in, so I never have any standing water in the box.

I use 20ga. solid core thermostat wire- I have a huge roll of it, but you can get smaller rolls at the hardware store...

It's from my time working at an hvac company...it 's only 250 feet (x2)
I got a helluva deal on it....

Thanks, carcass. I'll see if I can find a smaller amount. :laughtwo:

Not one to be left out on the latest high tech cannabis restraints I went to the local craft store and got some 12 gauge jewelry wire. My thumb wishes I would have got a 20 gauge for sure. They are way better on my auto plants at their stage now over pipe cleaners and clips.

Why does your thumb wish you had gotten 20 gauge? Is the wire sharp?

Copper is nice & bendy, and the insulation on it makes it easy on the fingers when you're forming it...
Now I HAVE to make some of those bad boys
You should try them at least once- they make training a lot easier, and you can use them over and over...
Don't forget to get skewers... ;)

I think the jewelry wire must be harder to bend than the copper-hard on the thumbs...
oh, and 20 ga is thinner than 12 ga.

I’ll find it after I buy the wire to make them.
If you end up buying some, be sure it's solid core (I think all thermostat wire probably is) - the stranded stuff won't work- it won't stay bent well enough...
