Caramelicious In NorCal

Oh No Ol' Yeller:sorry:
5 confirmed ladies is good, how many clones can you take from these swamp?
and what again are you feeding with in flowering? Any chance on pulling a male off to the side somewhere and getting the pollen, or is it worth it?

I think you have done great for your first grow in 34 years!
HappyKitty, you were my first contact here at 420MAGAZINE. You've always been a big help and a strong supporter. Thanks so much, you're awesome.

Hey Cherma,
Yes, we are happy for what we have. Not sure yet exactly how many clones we will take, but we will be taking them very soon and we plan of filling the room with them. :) As for the nutes...We gave them a jump start of MAXSEA 3-20-20 and will be using EARTH JUICE Bloom 0-3-1 with every watering. We haven't saved any males for pollen. We don't really have a place for them and we're a little nervous about introducing pollen into our grow room. We will be content with clones for now.

Hey Poke Smot,
I have always thought that the male/female ratio was just the luck of the draw, but with the very high male ratio this grow had, I am having second thoughts about it now. I'm wondering if stress factors, nutes, temps, etc, etc, may play a part in the outcome. I'm sure there are plenty of opinions out there. Thanks for the tip on the Fox Farm, I'll look into it.

look they all play a factor but your best way to get around it is this high (very high N there fore FF ocean try it next time i will be tuning in.

:nicethread:

Great looking garden. If I understand correctly, out of 30 seeds initally, you have 8 plants in the running, 5 female, with 3 of unknown gender?

Thanks Poke Smot, the next crop will be all clones, so we don't anticipate that problem again any time soon, but will tuck that info away for future seed grows.

Yep, those are the sad facts. Out of 30 seeds, 23 sprouted. The rest is as you say.

2 weeks into 12/12 we pulled 24 Caramelicious clones and 7 freebie clones and put them back into veg.

Here's the clone closet where we will keep the under T5 Fluorescents at 18/6.
We've partitioned it off with black/white poly.

Here's the Caramelicious mom we took the bulk of the clones from.

The moms are budding out nicely.

:passitleft:schweeeeeeeeeeeeeet Swampgas, having done the clones will rock on the next round utilizng the full force of those lamps. The ladies are coming in fine, dressed to kill. Keep doing what your doing man...:smokin:

It's what dreams are made of. They are beautiful Swampy.

I'm leaving on a road trip for about 5 days. My partner will be tending the crop while I'm away, but there won't be any new posts until I get back. I thought I'd leave you with this...

Neither of us had ever taken clones before, so we took more than we needed, thinking we would have some failures. We took 31 clones hoping for an 80% success rate. It's been nearly 4 days and we now think that all 31 clones are going to make it. I guess we'll be giving away some clones pretty soon.
Here's one of the clone trays.

The rest are pics taken today of the current Caramelicious crop.

Scweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, swampgas, the ladies are filling in rather nicely. The clones are droopy some but will perk up, the rockwool must not dry up at all while you are away.
See ya soon. enjoy!!:smokin:

Thanks much Ms.Fox. I'm glad to see you still check in, we've missed you around here.

Awww, well thanks! It's taken a while to adjust to the new house. I'm back on board now. Your clones look great! Great grow!

Thanks Cherma, I'm really glad to have you in my camp.
You too Ms.Fox, it's always a pleasure to have you post here. I do miss your old avatar though.
Buzzy, depending on how our clones turn out, I may contact you privately.

I got home late last night after a week long road trip. The trip was long, but beautiful.
I stopped at several dispensaries in both the Bay Area and LA too.
The girls were asleep when I got home, so I had to wait until this morning to see them, I could hardly wait.
My grow partner took great care of them while I was away.
Day 25 into 12/12.

These are the Caramelicious. I can't believe how nice they look and they are so easy to grow.
My grow partner calls them bullet proof.

I had hoped to come back to 2 trays full of rooted clones, but they aren't cooperating very well.
It's been 11 days since we took the clones and only a couple are putting out roots, most show no roots at all. :(
I'm not ready to give up on them just yet, the tops are still green and leafy and we're still holding out hope for them.

no where near time to give up on those clones yet! I've been getting enough roots to de-dome them after 14 days- and sometimes they take longer. those are probably growing primordia right now- the little white bumps that will be roots soon. if they aren't dead yet- they probably won't be anytime soon.

looks awesome! good growing!
