Thanks Grizz, I'm back home. Heart Cath revealed an almost 100% blockage to right Coronary Artery, left side was all in excellent shape no blockage whatsoever. Cardiologist called in Heart Surgeon during Cath and they both agreed to try meds first (I hate taking drugs, never have taken any BP, cholesterol, etc etc in my 57 years), as it gets risky with the Right Coronary as it wraps around the back of the heart and there is no real hole to try and ballon for stent, the super heart surgeon was not in at the time but will be looking at the film to determine if he thinks it may be advisable to try and stent as there is a very small trickle there now. I was told and from googling around seems to be the consensus on the recommended med treatment on this side of the heart. My cardiologist says God gave us that side as a spare. Of course he said lose weight, eat better, exercise, stop smoking (cigs), less alcohol, blah, blah, shit I may as well be dead :rolleyes3. Anyway I go back in 3 weeks and symptoms/changes in the next few months will determine further needs.

Plants are all healthy on my return home last night, tried to get some pics before lights on but then; well, I got high...

I'll try and catch up on all you cool cats asap.

:Namaste:

They onto it mate, good shit.... Science is amazing... Yeah all that but stress is worse, so don't let the taking shit easy stress you out, lol....

Kinda late Cap but I had to come over here to see what the doc said... Not too bad and certainly could have been worse but please listen to the doc... I've had to do all the samethings due to diabetes at first them the HBP that you end up with from the juvenile diabetes... and it really is amazing the difference diet and excercise can make... IMO all things in moderation can be handled and that way you don't feel deprived all the time... I did quit drinking but that was because every time I did I ended up hitting somebody...:yikes: and if you have to use alcohol as an excuse for your actions... you shouldn't drink...:thedoubletake: anywho I'm gonna pull up a chair in the corner and I'm happy to hear it's not as bad as it could have been....:high-five:....:circle-of-love:

Glad you made it back, good to see you back in your garden, great therapy.

Cheers

Thanks Gals and Guys, good to be back home. I've always been mindful of my health, except for the damn smoking, haven't had one in 3 days now, kinda tough, but doing some vaping (nicotine) to supplement and trying to wean off. All my life I've fought the weight thing @ 6'1 225 I was still called obese according to the damn BMI thingy/farce, quite often I'd go on a binge and find myself pushing 240-245 and say to self; "self time to get it back together", and start eating better and lifting weights, I mean I work on my feet all my life for many hours at a time. The past year I couldn't do it as I felt like I was going to have a damn heart attack at a good walking pace for 10 minutes or even training/working with my pup Dixie. Hopefully the meds and salad will get me pointed in the right direction, I weighed in @ 256 before all the testing began, fattest I've ever been. Thanks again for everyones support.

So a few yellow pics as I was feeling well enough to do a 21 day trim in the 4x4, feed and water everyone last night. I'll try and get some better pics soon. At 8 weeks in the 5x5 and getting close. Got a C'99 that I didn't back build on this huge flat top bud, all the buds I did back build on, well I'm convinced it fattened them up & added weight.

Hello Captain! :ciao:

Just a quick one to say you dont have to eat just salads as that will get old and boring in 5 seconds......and you'll fall off the wagon. Your work is physically demanding and salads will not provide you with the nutrients and calories you need unless they are meat, fowl, and fish salads with plenty of healthy oils in them.

Go back to basics ie eat only food, completely cut out product from your diet, and if you must have that slice of cake or cream pie at the weekend, then make it yourself (another reason to get a thermomix - they are a life saver for people who work yet still want to eat well especially the steaming function) when you cook your own food, you can control what's in it.....most people gain weight because they are consuming large amounts of the poisons that big food is now peddling as food. Even though the Paleo advocates exaggerate a bit, that is the kind of diet our bodies evolved to eat.

Big food = Big Sugar 99% of breakfast cereals are a sugar filled nutrient desert....as I always tell my daughter one would get more nutrients eating the boxes they come in.

We all tend to forget that food is meant to nourish and strengthen our bodies......so if two people sat down together and one person ate a prawn starter, a 1 kilo steak, roasted sweet potatoes and strawberries and cream and the other ate a commercial pastry and 4 doughnuts, the person who ate the food, is actually sated and medicated, whereas the person who ate the 'products' will be hungry again in a short period because there is very little goodness in products; after a meal consisting of products, your body is trying to deal with the sugars, the gluten, the E numbers, the colourings, the preservatives......they actually leach stuff from your system and cause all manner of digestive tract chaos.

So all food is good ( complex carbs, protein, healthy fats,)and all products ( unless you make them yourself) are a slow kiss of death. You lift weights; its one of the most effective exercise mechanisms so if You are gaining weight your diet is where the problem is. If you were to replace granulated sugar and sweeteners with Stevia ( I actually grow mine - and the weather where you are is ideal also)

Obviously the booze and cigarettes are not the best, (I smoke and drink; if anything is going to get me it'll be one of the two) but studies have shown that the impact on ones system of 'poisons' is directly related to how whole the persons body already is. So a 'healthy' person can have a bit of everything (even products) with little negative effect, whereas a body riddled with issues is way more vulnerable to carcinogens and the like - a bit like our plants; the healthier the soil and therefore the plant, the less vulnerable it is to pests and diseases.

Hope I don't sound like a nagging wife :biglaugh: but food and health and nutrition are my passion, and big food and big pharma will draw me into a rant any day, because they are two of the banes of modern life. My mother has run/owned a nursery school for 36 years, 6 years ago she banned parents from sending children to nursery with any sweets, biscuits or the like, the results were astonishing from the point of view of behaviour, attention span/concentration and health wise and even though people call her the food nazi behind her back, it has not stopped an 18 month waiting list from becoming the norm, because what works, works, and human beings have forgotten that the body will always win, you can't fool it. That's why big pharma and big food work hand in hand; big food messes up your system and big pharma will prescribe a 'fix' which is always just something to surpress or ameliorate your symptoms, rather than addressing the core issues.

Be well and don't hesitate to ask if you want my help with a food plan. Just send me a PM with a list of what you like to eat, what you won't eat and detailing your level of cooking skills and before you know it we'll have you as fit as a butchers dog. :circle-of-love::green_heart::allgood::yummy:

Enjoy your Sunday! I'm going off to prep stuff, we have friends coming over for an evening barbecue. :Namaste:

Good stuff Bapple....

I've been thinking for a while of starting a thread for recipes. But more designed for folks living by themselves; single, kids moved outta home, dudes that can't cook etc.. Recipes designed at being able to cook a good meal but not have to eat the same thing for next three days, recipes that can be used or turned to something different the next... I'll get onto it and help would be great if you'll know of some..

Hey Grizz! :ciao:

Thanks :thanks: I started a food and nutrition thread - check it out in my signature. Perhaps we could work on it together........

Have a super Sunday :high-five::Namaste:

No MS. B you don't sound like a nagging ex wife at all. I should have been a bit more clear. Firstly I don't lift weights, I only did that when I was really trying to get down to a BMI specific (BS) for a job a few times, and in high school/college, it was the only way I could ever get to 215, and that was along with a strict diet of good fat & proteins. I've never really been an eater at all to tell you the truth, I do love breakfast for supper lol, I hardly ever eat any candies, chocolates, cakes, etc., and detest the fast food chains, my occasional cravings may be a bag of chips or a cinnamon raison bagel. I'll admit I'm a sucker for a white bread, Hellmans' Mayonnaise tomato sandwich everyday all summer long once they ripen. I love my salads and spice 'em up with chicken or ham or such along with boiled eggs and cheese (I'm addicted to cheese, mostly farmers and what we call hoop or red rhine) but too often grab the sorry processed type because there is no other available. My Granny always kept some hoop cheese under a glass bowl in her kitchen, she always had cheerios for supper and she lived to 103 just like her mother, but they both cooked from their gardens and their butcher, if the men folk didn't butcher it along with them, many a hog skinning when I was a kid around Grannie's. I'm just weird in that I've never been an eater but fight weight all my life, it really started when I was in high school working towards a baseball scholarship for college I think, I did lift a lot then gain muscle & power (I was always fast for a white boy), once college was over and I really quit lifting and eating good protein meals I just never could get the handlebars off.

I'm going to soon try and put the proper menu together, this year was terrible as far as my normal year of stocking the freezer up with wild game as I normally have due to my tiredness and lack of energy/drive/ability to hunt like I'm accustomed too. Normally I stock my freezer with fish and game, and that's where my goodies come from. I have hopes of getting a good garden underway but just haven't had the energy or breath the last year to do it. Takes all I got to go to work and tend my other garden which helps pay the bills.

I'm with you on the big Pharma, let's not go there but be assured I HATE having to take the current 7 pills a day I've been prescribed, but for now as I argue with the FG (she's worse than I am about big pharma) about taking these drugs, I'm going to try and feel more better then see if I can get off at least half of them.

I'm going to check on the Stevia, I like honey as substitute and do use granulated raw brown sugar for my coffee, but never artificial sweetners. God Bless folks like your Mom, I'm surprised she's not fined for doing something so good (don't get me started on Big Gov and our insurance here).

I normally grill or put my fish/meat in an iron skillet and use olive oil (non virgin), but since my freezer is empty I've been too often going for the quick sandwich, which I need to get over.

Thank you for starting the thread, I'm going over to get a peek now. I've been walking as the DR prescribed 2 times a day for 15 minutes now, eating even less, added some active yogurt just to help offset the clogged up BM's all the meds cause (I know TMI) and hopefully can get it to (2) 15-20 minute miles 4 times a week. I've been trying to get some help to clear my track around my property off, it's quite gorgeous here now that spring has sprung as well as the gravel road along the old river where I work and stay Wed nite thru Saturday.

Thank you again for your help and offer of help, means soon much to me.

:thanks:

Hey Captain!:ciao:

A tablespoon of psyllium husks (not Metamucil) with lots of water in the morning or evening, and a couple of capsules of acidophilus ( get better brands like Viridian and Quest) one in the morning and one in the evenings should repopulate your GI tract and solve the BM issue :battingeyelashes: or if you like sauerkraut, eat some with your supper daily, it'll do the same thing :Namaste::Namaste:

Dont get me started on commercial activated yoghurts......

I get my Stevia seeds online from Jungleseeds

Now, how to make this 420 related - oh yeah since you already have an indoor growspace, you can start the Stevia side by side with your cannabis under lights as they are a b#%!h to start off; they like warm conditions.

How you going Captain? How's girls? Hope all is well mate...
