The movie really portrays New York perfectly. It’s great and that it’s about the effect on everyone’s lives and how they all project onto him. But not done dramatically more poetically like tangled up in blue

it might’ve been in Billy’s book. The story about Dylan wanting to join the band. it’s funny that he’s low-key about it, not saying who voted it down. That would’ve sucked. There’s no way to ruin a Bob Dylan song though. The dead is slaughtered other covers, but they’ve proven that Bob Dylan is indestructible

Maybe it was in 86 when he toured with them. Billy said it was because with Garcia Bob Dylan didn’t feel so alone being uncomfortable with superstardom. Billy’s book is really good. Don’t agree with his recommendations on psychiatric medication, but he’s the fucking man and entitled to his opinion. He essentially tells people to throw away their medication smoke weed and that they’re just getting poisoned.

My guess is that Dylan is just more fascinated with bands than anything. Like a computer geek and saw it in Garcia is the best band leader since Duke Ellington.

When he toured with the Dead he rearranged everything it was annoying. The best stadium show was when traffic opened. And winwood was jamming with the dead that was fucking awesome. Nothing was worse than sting other than Vince.

Then they broke up what a letdown!! Winwood is another fucking live gig genius like Garcia rearranging and making it so much fun.

I've seen JRAD a couple of times. It's GD music on steroids. He does have it going on, their good. He hails from Hopewell, NJ. He lives around the corner from a friend of mine.

JRAD is headlining a 2 day music fest in Baltimore this coming June. I think me and the gf are going.

DSO at the Basie in March should be good. They are playing 2 nights back to back.
