Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & More!

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Do you mix it with water and brush it onto a bud or do you sprinkle onto your bud?

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Can you buy pollen?

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Hey Grizz, Don't add water! It renders the pollen fairly useless. I use a really fine camel hair small paintbrush and "paint" it on (the dry pollen) if I'm going to do just one branch or two. Others use q-tips, but I hate having the white cotton pieces from q-tips on my pistils. It's unnerving for me to see and looks awful in pics. LOL

I have never pollinated a whole plant separately (meaning not just leaving a male in with the female and small fan going), so I can't tell you the best way on that. I've read that people just put the pollen into a large bag and dust it on the female.....never tried it. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that.

Nope, can't buy pollen here. Ain't that the chits?

Edit: If anybody suggests to you to "dilute" your pollen with flour to help spread it around...DON'T DO IT!
That flour stayed in clumps and was a huge mess because of the sticky pistils. It was awful.

Heirloom and Grizz,
I have a category in my blog that has posts about Colloidal silver, making feminized seeds etc.

Also, don't know if you had followed member "Toker69", but he did a couple of threads on making seeds with colloidal silver etc. It was a very good learning project.
I will see if I can find the links to those two threads.

Tokers was good, never finished though. He was a nice dude, wonder why he left... Dipping a bud in and then putting plastic bag over bud would prevent any cross pollination... Didn't know it made it useless, just thought more pollen was needed because it stayed in the run off. Always something to pick up/learn... will look at thread..

I put a big plastic bag around the branches that I did last year to keep the pollen from going to the rest of the plant. :thumb:

I don't want to mispeak on the water and pollen. I've always been told that water will "deactivate" it. But then I've read that it doesn't kill it....
I'm going to research that a bit tomorrow.

I've always stayed clear of spraying or misting after pollinating just to be safe.

Edit: Toker didn't leave on his own decision.......if you get my drift. :)

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

I'm browsing through your blogs now. Thank you. Most of them I've read through, but some pollen collection info was great.

Where I went wrong was using actual colloidal silver rather than the more common ionic silver that is sold as colloidal silver products and can be made at home. The difference is one electron. Colloidal has a complete outer electron shell, ionic is missing one electron. Thus making it readily reactive.

Stupid me got the wrong one. Double lame because I love the DIY stuff and passed on making my own. I would have been successful.

This is the CS that cured my dog of the tumor/cancer however. So I'll take that win.

Re: Cannafan's Perpetual Grow - Where Everything Changes - Autos - Photos - Seeds & M

Well, as usual....I get pollen in my stash and I get dangerous with it. LOL

I am not real impressed so far with these Fast N Vast, soooooo I chose a small flowering branch on one of them and painted a little pollen on it. Master Kush photoperiod x Fast N Vast Auto....wonder what will happen?

I'm going through my seed stash tonight to see what I want to use for the outdoor grow. I want something bushy and big, Grizzy and Heirloom worthy! ;-)

I have a spot all picked out where it will stay moist pretty much all the time, next to the pond in a little inlet among some little brush and trees. Would be hard to spot there.

I'll have a pic or two tomorrow. Spent hours cleaning out Locust Weed from it today. UGH! That Chit is big thorns awful, and the root system is incredible! There's also a muskrat hole there, he will have to move. LOL

I was going to chop the Durban Poison this weekend....but I don't think it's going to hurt one bit to wait until 4/20 so I can do something in celebration of the day.

Hope everyone is having a fine and dandy weekend!

Got a trainwreck, something along those lines... That'll get big with a reasonable flowering time...

Thanks Grizz! I am pretty sure I did order trainwreck last year. I will know in a while.

Okay....I got "Trainwreck". Yey!

I have also picked out one seed each of Humboldts' Bubba Kush, and Ministry of Cannabis' Carnival (NOT an Auto), and I'm going to throw a couple of the home grown THC Bomb X Master Kush x White Widow seeds outside too. That ought to be interesting. LOL
The expected frost free date is around May 10th. But I think I should be good before then to plant. I can always go out and cover them if we get a frost warning.

I wonder if the Bass in the pond will be jumping out for a tasty treat?
Hmmm.....thought just ocurred to me. Going to have to fence those in until they are sturdy...danged muskrats eat fish and foliage.
The deer like to go down to that inlet too, but I have a plan for that. :)

hmmm muskrat and deer problems.

Which animals gave you the most outdoor trouble last year? Gophers? Chipmunks?

Chipmunks, squirrels, Deer and wood chucks.
Damn, forgot about the blind underground things too...what they hell are they called? They kept disturbing the roots with the burrowing. Brain freeze from a chocolate shake...that's my excuse for the loss of memory. LOL

Thanks Rado....I think....hmmmm.......

Nothing to do today. Still winter cold outside.

Guess I'll try some pictures.

The Durban Poison trichomes are clear to partly cloudy:

Here's some shots just because it was in front of the window. She's about two foot high.

What do those beauties do to an electrical bill up there in the snow?

:ciao: Ohioboy
It takes a toll for sure. Which is why I want the best from my plants, if I have to pay those electric bills..the plants better be worth it. :)

Do you grow inside at all during the winter months? Ohio gets it's share of frosty months too. LOL

Moles and Voles

:passitleft:

Moles they are. Blind, and dumb. Will drown themselves in a bucket of water with a pond within inches they could have had a safe drink from. And ankle breakers/lawn mower wheel trenchers.
