re: Cannabis Oil Users Cafe & Lounge
Never thought cannabis cultivation would be like going back to university. It keeps the mind sharp.

Reading some of the posts about MMJ policies and how silly and hypocritical the laws are. One of the books I read that really explained how deep this war on Cannabis went was "The Emperor Wears No Clothes." It has all sorts of juicy details and some pretty absurd anecdotes. Definitely a great read for people that want to know more about the history and the policies that got us to this point... Funny/Gross how the Duponts and Rockerfellas always seem to find their way into criminal laws or policies.
As for Lyme, I have a few people that are very interested in learning about Tacking and CCO for treatment, as antibiotics and traditional treatments have not done much, if anything for them. I got a feeling I will be inundated with Lymies needing help soon. I'm glad to help of course, but it's not legal here and the anxiety that comes from possible being a "criminal" is beyond ludicrous. The whole part in the constitution about pursuing happiness, well that can only be done if we are healthy
I know this is a different distiller unit that you're referring to above, but I got this solvent question.
So North Carolina and Virginia do not sell Everclear 190 proof. Highest alcohol content offered in stores are 151. So it appears that if I use a 151 proof product I will have to use a Fractional Distillation Apparatus to get a bottle of Everclear to 190 proof. Is that right?
Here is what I've found as a picture of one.
These things are a little pricey but I'm saving quite a bit of $ each month not buying from street dudes. I'm sure if I look a little harder, a unit could be pieced together somewhat cheaper or can be found in a package a little less expensive. There is the cost of stands and connection hardware and a burner of some sort. Never thought I go back to chemistry class.
Anyway, if any of you can give me some idea if I'm on the right track here regarding the solvent I'd surely appreciate it.
Rado, cool to see it listed with other meds!!! We're on our way!

I hear you. I'm an old woman and bold as hell. It frustrates my daughter that I'm not more cautious, but it's too late in my life to hide anymore. Not that I'm giving tours of the garden, mind you, but I'll take any opportunity that presents itself to spread the word of the curative powers of CCO and cannabis in all its forms.
We walk too fine a line in a country that's supposed to stand for freedom. All those years of propaganda left us a challenge, to be sure. I admire your willingness to reach out to other sufferers. Once you've seen it work for yourself, how can we stay quiet, eh? I fall back on quiet meditation to still the building stress brought on by the government's reluctance to take it off schedule one, and I remain irrepressibly optimistic for the future.
Lab Rat has a slightly different way of making his oil. Not sure if any of you "winterize". Here is the link. Improved yield RSO
I'll make a batch as soon as it gets here (Amazombie says thursday).
I'm so excited for you to get your new best friend...not really sure how the darn thing works, so I am very lucky to have you and Canna pave the way for us!
When I saw the list on paper instead of a computer screen monday, I snuck a photo while the doctors were out of the room
Due to my wife being in a wheelchair since October (she started walking last week), and the extra medical attention of a broken ankle (healing quite nicely,) I have sat in on 3 visits to the emergency room, 5 visits to the orthopedist, 5 visits to the GP, dozens of visits by the in home nurse (for blood clotting factor measurements) and dozens of in home visits by physical therapists. Every one of them reviews her medications list every visit. Every single medical professional has encouraged her to continue using Medical Marijuana - even the one who doesn't understand and I am sure is skeptical.
The last visit was typical:
Dr.: "So you are off your Colase?"
Wife: "Yep. Don't need it with the reduce Oxycodone dose"
"And how are your stools?"
(skipping conversation)
Dr.: "You are still taking your Medical Marijuana, I assuume."
"Of course"
"How are you taking it?"
"Smoking mostly, some vaping."
"and the pain is manageable?"
"Yes."
"What is your pain level today?"
"4"
"Good. Keep taking the Marijuana. How are you doing on the reduced Oxycodone?"
"I feel better. I make up for it with a little more marijuana."
"Good. Good. now how about the ...."
Every medical professional in my experience treats it like a medicine that some other doctor prescribes, although it is technically only recommmended by the Cannacare doctors. When the ambulance EMTs went down her list with the local police in earshot, not a one batted an eye or made a non-medical comment. (I was VERY grateful the police didn't want to follow up on that info.) Sometimes when they have a few seconds while taking a temperature or blood pressure, a nurse or doctor will ask about the Medical Marijuana, but it appears real curiousity about it's effects, where you go to get a medical card, and sometimes whether we know about whether it is good for a family member's condition. One of the visiting nurses plans to come back after the professional relationship is terminated to discuss organic growing
Dispensaries have only been open in the state for a few months, but, curiosity aside, the medical professionals act like the state has had Medical Marijuana for decades.
P.S.
My wife looks 'normal' and smokes about 3 oz per month.
I look and talk like a stoner and smoke about 3 grams per month
