Hey folks!

I'm beginning this first journal 3ish weeks from harvest, so there's a lot of back-filled info.

Current Stats
Strain/s: Jelly Donutz (Humboldt Seed Co.)
Genetic Makeup: Hybrid (40% Indica 60% Sativa)
Pot/Bucket Size: 5 Gallon
Tent Size: 3' x 3' x 7'
Grow Space: 3' x 3'
How Many Plants: 5
Environment: Indoor
Stage: Flowering
Medium: Soil (Coast of Main - Stonington Blend)
CO2: 1000-1200 ppm during lit hrs.
Lights: HLG Blackbird - 100-600 Watts Dimmable - LED / HLG 30 UVA Supplemental
Nutrients: Pride Lands - Bloom - Top Dress
Room/Tent Temperature: 82°
Relative Humidity: 55-60%
Media/Res PH: 6.3
Pests: Fungus Gnats
Watering: Avg'ing every 5 days

Popping some seeds:
Started off popping 5 (paper towel, covered by bowl, raised up from a heating mat) but only 4 were successful. I Waited a few days, and popped 1 more since my target was 5.

Fast Forward 3 weeks:
I've got 5 plants happy with their 2 gallon containers.
The one in the middle is the baby of the group (that 5th seed).

Moving into the Flowering tent:
First... details about the tent...

I use 2 AC Infinity 6" Cloudline systems. One as an intake boost, and one for Exhaust.
It's running as a closed system, for circulation and C02/Humidity/Temp efficiency.

Drainage
I have the tent sitting on a platform that I built. I was able to drill a hole into it (and the bottom of the tent), so that I could put a drip tray at the inside base of the tent, allowing the runoff to flow into a tub below the platform.

Humidification
I'm gravity running RO water into a humidifier that's pumping into the tent. Using RO because my city water is hard, and the mineral deposits being pushed into the air became problematic.

I wrapped the hose going into the tent to keep light bleed from traveling up the line and into the tent during dark cycles.

Once in the tent it gets distributed/diffused by an oscillating fan (which i need to clean)

Watering
I use RO, as my city water is brutal.
I have a fish tank bubbler and sink stone in the bucket. Usually letting it oxygenate for 24hrs.
I add cal/mag back into the water, so that it doesn't get leached from the soil
I PH between 6.1 & 6.3

Moving them into the flowering tent at 4 weeks old
Lighting Cycle: Still 18/6
Lighting Strength: PAR 250
RH: Around 70%

They were topped for the first time 6-3 days earlier.
Watering every 5 days or so.
I'm using nutrients every other watering, at 1/2 the manufacturers recommended amount.

Around week 6,
Some defoliation, a raise in PAR, and dropping the SCROG
PAR -> 350-400

They were starting to rock some clownshoe sized leaves at this point.
This was earlier than I'd typically do it, but they were getting silly.

They also received a second topping.
This picture shows 2 before defoliation, and 3 after.

After defoliation I dropped the SCROG.
It's a hard screen, which some folks say not to use, but it's worked for me... so far.

It was getting to be a mess under the screen. More defoliation (more than I'd like), and a little lollipopping.

Clean:

The flip to flower
Right after the cleaning I set the lighting cycle for a flip to flower, gave them a healthy watering/feeding (still Veg food), and left town for a few days.

5 Days after flip to flower
I came back into town, and was thrilled to see that they handled my absence just fine. Looking healthy and filling back out the tent again.

RH: 70%
Temp: in the low 80's
PAR: 700-750

The last batch I grew were Blueberry Muffins which were super squat, with limited stretch. These girls... woah, they sure did stretch....

I did on more defoliation.. a pretty big one... and added an extra tier of trellising to support their height. I'd typically wait until day 19 or 20 for the final defoliation, but it was getting bushy in there again. This is usually the point where I ask myself.. "Oh my god, what have I done? I'm going to kill them (or stress them hermaphroditic) this time!.....

Some side notes:
The temperature is higher than I'd like it to be, but I'm hoping that the CO2 I'm running (@ 1000/1200 ppm) will help them to cope. It's hard to get tight controls on temperature in such a small tent. As I lower my humidity levels, I'm increasing my exhaust cycles. They look to be handling it just fine.

The Gnats issue I've been fighting has been a battle. The soil has been soaked twice in Neem oil, I've throw diatomaceous earth onto the surface of the soil when its dry, and I've got sticky traps at the base of each plant. So far, it's the sticky traps that seem to be doing the most work. The Gnats are relentless. Unfortunately, I'm speculating that they came in the soil I'm using (speculating based on product reviews I read that were posted by others) so... that's a bummer. Unverified, but I'll be switching going forward.

This is the first time I'm growing Jelly Donutz, and I'm starting them from seed, so it's hard to know what's moving the dial in which direction. I'm happy with the results so far, but wish I knew the impact of my defoliation approach, and the impact that the gnats are having on the plants nutrient intake.

I'll continue to post as I get closer to harvest. So far the trichomes are showing all milk, with no amber. Per the breeders notes, I should be looking to pull these down around day 55.

Such a candy coated collection of colors on these Jelly Donutz. The trichomes remain white, with few instances of amber. The breeders suggestion of 55 days feels pretty spot on.
