Canadian Pot Legal!

App is no longer offered sadly closed that down year or so ago now.
fyi - phone apps are a definite security risk. it might be ok for some of us very north americans, but using a phone app for less progressive places is not a good idea. nor is taking pics with a phone. might as well scrawl what you are doing on the sidewalk in front of the house.

i worked with larger ops for a few years. we were never allowed to even bring cells into a production area.

Yeah I never had issues with their app but I’m comfortable now using the site now . I am on iPhone 7 it’s easy once you knwk what your doing .

it's not the site app you need to worry about. it's all the others.

apps gain access to ALL your info on the phone. contact lists, forum posts, photo galleries, text and even live conversations can be legally tracked and logged by apps. they can also use your data minutes to do things like mine for bitcoin. it's all buried in the agreements you sign off on when installing an app. you legally agree to their conditions.

99% of the apps out there make their money by accessing this data. not by providing the app. never take a phone into a large op unless you are totally legal. never take a photo with a phone that you would not be comfortable posting on the front page of your local newspaper.

hiya yetty

you are allowed 4 legal here. a partner's imposed limit is a different story tho. :D

soil is a great media to start off with. hp promix or fox farm are the usual go to's. keep away from the big box hardware store garden stuff if possible.

as chris says a good light is the best investment. everything else you can improve or tweak as you go. if you don't have a decent light you're looking at an uphill slog.

quantum boards or cobs are the only way to go now. there is just no better tech. it's getting hard for shops to sell any other tech. do yourself a favor and just go right to a proper sized quantum or cob light for the space you plan. you can try another light, but you're gonna buy a cob or quantum at some point no matter what you might be thinking now.

both cobs and quantum are expensive up here. the light will take more than half that budget easy once done. cobs are a bit cheaper to get in to. the main difference between the two is quantum has a better spread or dispersion, but both are pretty similar.

the best lights are self built hands down. go with a kit and build them out yourself. the kits take the guesswork out of it and are more accessible cash wise. plus you'll learn piles more. get a system with dimmable driver and potentiometer.

the GH trio are the standard nutes thru the industry and are the easiest to access anywhere. Advanced Nutrients has a nute trio near identical and is better priced for the performance. both systems have a pandora's box of supplements they like to sell you. start with the basic nutes and learn to grow them out on that. you can try different supplements if you want after you get comfy with a particular nute line.

nobody runs nute lines over 50% of recommended bottle strength. i'm running the AN line and haven't gone over 25%.

the best advice anyone can give you is stick around here, learn as much as you can from the others on this board, and most importantly - enjoy the process. :)
Hi Yetti, fellow canuck here and I will tell you what I know from experience. I just got an Optic 1 xl and it is brighter then the Mars II 700 I have and only 1/3 of the power needed as well. I want the optic 4 for bloom and the 1 xl for veg. My Mars II 700 is ok but the light intensity just isn't there.

Welcome to 420 Yetty, looks like a complete kit but look up your light choice and make sure it will fully cover your 4 x 4 tent. 3000k is a good color temp for both veg and flower.

One thing to simplify things for first grow - try a couple of autoflower plants. They stay smaller and wont blowup your tent. The shorter grow time minimizes things going wrong.

Also simplifies the lighting requirement so you dont need 2 tents - 1 veg 1 flower.
