Canadian Growers Group & Friends

ok,, i been thinking about this and this pic prompted me to question y'all about what i've been thinkin, if ya don't mind

first i will make an assumption or two about the pic. right or wrong, don't matter

i will assume that the fence there is property line and the buildings seen are neighbours houses

same as in my pic,, the fence is property line and neighbours right behind and beside

P1170878.JPG

this is not a legal question,, more of an ethical or morals q.

my fences and cedars and mountain ash trees do a real good job of keeping the neighbours eyes off of my beautiful cannabis plants,,

but nothing on earth is going to be able to disguise the smell

perhaps not an issue but y'all know some folks still see evil when they see or smell cannabis

my next door neighbour just put her house up for sale,, and if i was looking at a house to buy, i know i would be peeking into the neighbours yard to see whats goin on,, and where one might peek is this

P1170866.JPG
:bravo:

so that's my simple q,,

how concerned are y'all about the smell?

a side note,, cpl years ago when i had the early frost purple plant,, it was a lemon skunk,, same as the biggies in the pic above,, and we had a family gathering,, ha,, remember those?? haha

anyway,, the air movement brot the smell of the plant around the corner into the gathering of folks and we had to move,, and granddaughter near puked:cough:

cheers friends,, happy saturday from kelowna,, smoke is clearing a bit now

Smell has been a bit of a concern, my neighbour next to me grows aswell, so you can imagine theres quite a bit of stank with the 2 grows side by side, my neighbour behind hasnt any issues yet, ive got a different setup for next year, but the way my backyard is setup there was really no other spot for them. Time will tell. Ive talked to him a bunch, hes never said anything atleast.
Btw
WOW, HUGE LEAF.

Hahaha exactly
Hey I wouldnt mind sliding my neighbour a few buds to keep the peace!

thank y'all for the replies,, good to know the concern is not mine alone,, i don't feel so lonely anymore,:cheesygrinsmiley:

i suppose the smell of cannabis wafting thru neighbourhoods mostly in the fall will be the new norm,, just what we need, another new norm,, just can't keep up with the norm's, or the jones's

cheers friends,,

oh, btw,, i don't think my 74 year old mrs neighbour would want my weed,, course one just never knows now does one??

I know quite a few people who dont even smoke and are growing this year, just because they legally can. Alot of elderly are also taking it up, more so edibles. People are starting to open their eyes to all of the medicinal benefits of cannabis.
Wait a year or two, everyone and their brothers and sisters will be growing.
I think its a positive thing, this is forsure one of the new normals that I dont mind getting used to.

and the nine month winter begins,, i lived in cornwallis as a boy for a bit,,

the snow??

course i was just a wee lad,, but,,

the snow,,

sure pertty tho,,

Some years, it is bad, especially along the North Shore where my woodlot is but not as bad on average as it was when I was a kid  not quite as bad where I am now most years.

I remember in the 70s, going to my grandparents (where my woodlot is) and being snowed in for days until they got a bulldozer in to break the road out, and then windrows of snow along side the road 20 feet high lol the only storm I can remember in the past 20yrs that put down that much snow was White Juan in Jan 04, four months after Hurricane Juan went through and wreaked havoc.

i have many deeply embedded memories from my childhood in cornwallis. especially the taste of a pear. in n.s. you say?? yep,, this pear tree in the schoolyard,, a tall thing,, and the pears never ever got past rock hard,, but i used to climb that tree to get those pears and ate the whole thing every time.

everytime i taste a pear,, which is right now in my yard cuz the bartlets are ripe right now, every time i taste a pear i think of that pear tree in the schoolyard

oh,, and the apple,, we had an apple tree in the back yard that had apples so big it took me two days to eat one,, honest

So what happens when they get covered in frost like this? I know it kills the plant, but does frost have to be a regular occurance for the plant to die, or can 1 simple frost kill it over night? Will she bounce back once warmed up?
Naw, a single frost like that really doesn’t bother them much, never know it hit them a few hours later

The frosty pic, was of a bud from the girl on the left, this was taken 4 hrs later :)

Even a few frosts spread out a week or so really doesn’t bother them much, but multiple frosts back to back can do damage.

Lower mainland BC has been quite humid and wet of late, I woke and had to trim off one cola top and another section of another cola on a different plant due to bud rot. Surprise!!! :(

So now they are spending the day, with a lucky bit of sun, with the fan on them. At night I have three fans circulating in an outdoor blackout tent and it still happened Grrr.

But at least I have the rest of the plants still. :)-

5 more weeks to go. Hope they make it.
