Canadian Growers Group & Friends

Do a quad line with the fence! Looks like your neighbor might have plants to. Maybe you have heard of Gene Guy. It's an old Quebec variety. Got to be a few folks up there that have the real one!
LMFAO Odjob!
I am actually smoking "Jean Guy" as I read this.
Quality smoke at just over 5 bucks a gram.

Here's the dam and my beaver having a swim, not that sociable yet. No bigfoot.:)

My boss's father dynamited those dams in his area. Creates more water front so he can build more chalets.
Looking forward to retirement so I can move further away from Montreal and more into the sticks.

Where you at, Odjob?

In the sticks. South side of the Cobiquid Bay. This guy lives 20 min. on a wheeler and a 45 min. hike, no trail. He's way up in the headwaters and not bothering no one. Hopefully some good trout fishing in a year or two. Wife and I use to go to Montreal often when we where younger. Great culture shock!

I hear you, Odjob. Cold spell just finished here as of this morning. Going to finally get warm night. My branches outside are way too soft for their thickness. Had to stake a few which shouldn't be needed when quadlining.

I took advice from @Azimuth about dandelion tea. He has a link for it as most of you already know the recipe.

Did this 5 hours ago.

Just so LOVING all the 411 since I joined 420. You guys are a gold-mine! :thanks:

Enjoy your Sunday, Gents!
Cheers.

Nice job, Scott! :goodjob:

That will be ready to use in about a week's time as the sugars will pull out whatever they're going to in that time. The remaining solids can go in your compost pile after you filter out the liquid. The sugar ferments are generally used 1:1,000 but I usually do 1:750 which works out to about a quarter teaspoon per liter. A little goes a loooong way. :thumb:

I've switched my training method from tying down the branches over to Hafta's Fishing Weight Training . Outdoors, the constant gentle breeze swings the weights a bit making the plant strengthen the branches. I grow indoors in a cab so don't get the breezes, but am liking the approach so far.

I used brown sugar and a bit of water and just for fun threw in a little yeast. It bubbled for a little while and smelled like silage. I didn't separate the roots, leaves and blooms. I just threw everything in. I wish I had chopped it up finer but... meh...I was hoping it would do the trick on it's own. I'm not sure how you can tell when it is ready tho...
I have also moved it into two jars so that there is much less air - the dandelions have all gone mushy and brown.

The sugar ferments take about a week to maybe 10 days at most and then what you have is about all you'll get. The best results I've had have been mixing equal amounts by weight of plant material and brown sugar and mixing them thoroughly tryingmto coat all plant material in sugar. Then it goes into a glass jar with a breathable covering and then is capped with a layer of brown sugar. It's best if the jar is only 2/3rds full.

After a week or so, strain out the plant material and add it to your compost. Use the extract at a dilution of 1:1,000. I usually go a bit stronger at 1:750, or a quarter teaspoon per liter/quart.
