Canadian Growers Group & Friends

The smoke is getting worse here in BC. I just checked my plants in pots and my garden. Three of four in garden are nearly 8 feet tall, but willowy. Only one is showing pistals: the Zamaldelica X (Durban Poison x Big Freeze), my own cross. It's been a funny year weather-wise, and I'm not sure what the harvest will be like if they rest don't start flowering soon. Here are some pics from this morning: !st pic on left is the New Caledonia, Bangi Haze, Power plant, Purple Satellite (in pot) Zamal DP BF pistals, and Bangi Haze on right of photo.

Don’t think I’ve posted in a bit, so I shall update my grows. Outdoor girls are getting closer to flowering, with my Mango Sapphire actually already started mid last week. Being guarded by the newest backyard assistant manager Fozzie Bear. Had to hack and train the monster clones but seems like I will get an ok yield from them, if all goes well. Needed to restart a Sugar Breath and is roughly 2 weeks behind everyone else outside. Which is a shame since she is growing beautifully with all the LST i did in hopes of a good yield in the end. Tent girls are doing amazing after 3 weeks of veg, well Sour Diesel needed to be restarted from seed and is a week behind everyone else. Then late this afternoon I transferred my Malawi and Lennon plants over to their own 5x5 tent in hopes of producing a few monsters with a ton of LST. New exhaust installed as well, in hopes no bug issue occurs like my sisters turn with it. So outdoor pic are from today and indoor group is from yesterday

Moved her inside 36 hrs ago to darkness and turned on the lights to 12/12 this am. Nice structure to this manafolded planted which I didn't trim other than yellow leaves and a few lower stems....keeping my fingers crossed for her as the plants I had in the light with nitrogen overload and a Thrips infestation which reduced the quality of the Cola's and quantity....

how many weeks did it take you to grow this plant up until now? got to say it start using smart pots eh!!!

I have some outdoor plants looking like they want to flower and some that are not, usually mid august before flower in ontario i've found.
* think we still at 14hrs daylight in ont. so i hope august is sunny and hot with little rain.

Thinking the forest fires up north are screwing with weathers and sunlight, wonder if are boys & girls in BC having same early flowering with all the forst fires ??

This plant was started in the light box in March and put outside permanently not until the beginning of June due to frost and so 2 months outside in her bucket and then back inside to finish under lights so I guess 20 wk or less. This was a experiment to see what I would get with combining lights with a outdoor grow and will take another couple of months to finish. My usual containers are 15 gal plastic tubs but I had no extra this time and also I would have difficulty moving them around.
What I did find out is:
1)due to the excessive heat we have here 2 months of +30C this plant need water every second to 3rd day.
2)The big plus so far is the strength of the solid stems as opposed to under lights which may indicate the poor quality of my lights however I will use both 600 W lights to finish this 1 plant as opposed to 4 in the past........

We switched these to 12/12... into and out of the shed at 6:30. We figure that they will be done about the same time that our sun hits 12/12 here in Sask.

I'm not sure how they will fare on that wagon once they start stretching. We will see I guess, there may be some super cropping involved. Variety is unknown, the pic was taken 1 week ago.

thats a alot of work but worth it to have good weather for blooming .. i just started feeding my outdoor plants transitioning blooming ferts... never tried this early .. maybe the plants will go into flower 2 to 3 weeks ..
big black tent around a plant works too..

Will do - I'll post in here occasionally.
These are my neighbors plants and they are in dirt...somekind dirt. So far I've just been giving them my runoff water from my coco grow (heavily diluted). I fed them properly once at the last feeding (4 days ago). I do wait for their tears before I water (leaves & tops fall over).
They are really nice plants as in max 1/2" between nodes, seeds came from a friend of a friend type of deal. I would say they're definitely the same strain with a node every like 3/8 to 1/2 ". Not my plants so I did no trimming.

We tried a pop up ice fishing tent... not near dark enough in there IMO. I suggested painting the fabric to make it darker... not my tent. The shed is dark.

I would use the 6 mill black one side white other side for a tent all the big grow shops sell and amazon..
most would use the white to reflect .. turn around to keep light out 100%

My totally uneducated guess would be your bloom will start around Sept 25. Fertilizer has nothing to do with the switch to bloom.
Again I'm just going by the little that I have read, I'm no expert, just an interested bystander.

my education and experience would have to disgree totally that fertilizers can have a major impact on the switch to bloom .. if u meant finishing bloom at sept 25 u be a week to 2 weeks early .. cheers..

The Four Girls in the garden are getting a little hard to hide, 8 feet high and growing. The strains from Left to right are: Bangi Haze, Nepal Jam, Power Plant and Zamaldelica X (Durban Poison x Big Freeze). I'm hoping we don't get an evacuation alert as the fires are moving closer. Oh well, you can only do what you can do when things are out of your control. Still I'm crossing my fingers that I will end up with something for the winter. Hasta luego mis amigos.
