Canada Guy's Perpetual Garden

I havent made any yet.

But it breaks down like this: take all your bubble hash trim or bud, chop it up, freeze it, throw it in a bucket of ice and ice water, agitate, and screen.

That easy. You can strain with bubble bags or just a coffee filter. Lots of pro you tube videos to watch on it. I was going to buy some bubble bags but spent enough on grow equipment at the time.
You could always buy some on your next grow. I've noticed good quality ones can get fairly expensive.

I don't have a bunch. Heres what I have anyway.

Those look tasty lol. Good job.

I don't bother to grade and separate it by bag or screen size. If I did I'd get about 0.5 grams, 0.5 grams and about 3 grams from the last screen. The odd little spec of green leaf gets picked out with tweezers. It all goes into one cube at my house.

I see what you mean as you explain it to me. I think you did rather good to be honest with you..

Omg I'd kill for a hit
Is there a reason it looks like that? Most of the oil is golden, some parts that grouped together are very dark, and then the clear part, I didn't actually think I was scraping anything till I had a bunch on the tool. I mean I knew there was something there just didn't realize it was collecting. In pictures it usually looks dark, and when it gets stretched you actually see more golden colors. That pic wasn't modified nor was the oil melting/vaporizing. So what's going on with my oil?

How did I not sign up to this already , my bad CG .

Rep Canada bro proudly ..

Interesting question, that.

I'm reminded of my scientific hero, Louis Pasteur, looking at the tartaric acid crystals in his wine glass, being puzzled why half of the crystals twisted left and half twisted right (he sorted them using tweezers, very geeky), and from that going on to discover the concept of optical isomers--chemicals that have the same atoms but have molecules that are mirror images of each other (and so form different crystals).

Welcome Joe! Honoured to have you here. We are just having fun growing stuff, making extracts, and learning from one another.

I haven't actually been documenting this journal the best. Mostly updates when I can and ya we just hang out. Grab a bowl or a bong, it's Sesh Wednesday!

So it's an optical illusion?

<His button having been pushed, he steps up on his soap box and takes a deep breath>

There is a lot of mystical nonsense in the cannabis community that marijuana smoke isn't bad for you, but while it's clearly not as bad as tobacco smoke, anything that's burning makes a witch's brew of combustion byproducts, including benzene, carbon monoxide, and a whole slew of really awful other stuff.

Compare that with heating THC and some other small organic molecules, like those found in pine and lemon (pinene, limone, etc.) to a low temperature that makes them evaporate and then inhaling those. It will get you just as high, but at MUCH lower health risk.

Speaking as someone who used to smoke a lot of both pot and tobacco and who has been through the cancer treatment ringer (three surgeries, chemotherapy with one of the of the most poisonous substances around, and 10,000 chest x-rays worth of radiation treatment), you really don't want to get your medical cannabis prescription from an oncologist. (And that's not even taking into account the damage that those combustion byproducts do to your heart and the rest of your circulatory system, and your skin (wrinkles!), and increased incidence of impotence, weird changes to your immune system, etc etc etc).

Along with amazing improvements in strains and growing techniques, we now have awesome little battery-operated vaporizer units that fit in your pocket or AC heaters that fit on a bong.

That's why I've got that "Don't smoke it, vape it" tagline in my sig file.

And if you really want to be kind to your lungs, there's always edibles!

OK, stepping off my soapbox now.

Stay healthy, brothers and sisters! :thumb:

So it's an optical illusion?

Just an example of something odd and interesting noticed while relaxing with the substance of your choice. ;)

Pasteur is my scientific hero because he noticed things that others would ignore and went on to figure them out and thus reveal fundamental aspects of the world and how it works.

I'm sure if he was still with us, Louis could figure out what's going on with your dab. Or Carl Sagan. ;)

I'll get there one day I'd love to feel the effects more without burning all the time .

Guess this thread will be good reads .

It takes a while to get used to the difference when you switch to vaping your herb. (Though the 99% pure THC crystals I just got from Oleum Extracts hit like a hammer. ;))

The one thing you don't want to do is turn the vape unit temp up so high that you start pushing it into the combustion region (like when vaping dry herb with hot air, like with a Volcano, or in a heated ceramic bowl with something like a Sub-Herb). The herb should only look lightly toasted when your done, not burned.

Good to know I'll bust out my vape tonight and try it .
