Can you smoke on a cruise ship?

Going to Fantasy Fest in Key West, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios-JAMAICA in October aboard a cruise ship and was wondering how easy it is to smoke up on the ships? I'm pretty sure that you can't smoke cigarettes or anything else in the rooms because of smoke detectors but is it possible to burn one on the deck late at night? Do they even allow smoking on the ships at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :Rasta:

Well, at some points in the middle of the night, you might be by yourself up on the boat... so maybe if you go towards to back of the boat and toke up real quick you might be alright. I think I Went on the same cruise as you are

I would definitely find out what the laws are on that.....my guess would be that it's even more illegal to be bringing weed on a cruise ship because it could be considered international smuggling or something.
Too bad though.....you shouldn't even have to worry about it, for such a harmless little plant.

Really... you did the same cruise? How did you like Key West? I'm psyched for Jamaica which will take the sting out of having to obstain on the ship (if I, in-fact, have to obstain.) Was the Jamaican weed awsome or what?:Rasta:

Does a bear shit in the woods?

when i was on a cruise a few months ago there was people smoking weed in the room 4 doors down from mine, u could smell it on the whole floor btu when u went past there room WOW, u knew where it was coming from, and i never saw them get in trouble.

as for me i snuck some weed on board with a little pipe and toked up on the lower deck on the back of the ship, nothing to it.

my buddy got thrown off a cruise ship recently, for smoking weed...
he is now on an international list to be double checked everywhere he goes, worldwide...
depends on who catches you, i guess, just like anywhere else...

yeah im not sure if they check your belongings or not but if you could get a pipe on board im sure its not that big a deal to toke a lil in your room. i wouldnt suggest smoking a joint in there unless you could get a smoking room. but a bowl of some kush would be enough to get stoned and it wont set of the smoke detectors.

LOL OR there should be some of those little...knob things that stick out on deck? either for the anchor or maybe one of those ventilation shafts where all the exahust air from inside comes out? crouch down behind one of those at like 3 in the morning and pretend you're a rock.

that works for me. LOL

I would recomend maybe baking some "special" baked goods, or late at night go outside the room then take a fat chop !! , these are just my ideas

THAT is a good idea. nice solution...:headbanger:

I used to go down every night on the running deck and blaze at the back of the ship with my uncle when I was on my cruise. But you can generally find a small area that no one will be around. I went to Jamaica too, very cool. Don't be cool like the kids who thought they could light up in the bar during karaoke night.

thanks for all the replies.... seems like it can be done, but discretion must be excercised! The baked goods idea is a good one...I'd actually mentioned that to my wife before and she thought it was the way to go.:headbanger:

How about checking with your travel agent? They are supposed to find out EVERYTHING to make your trip safe and comfortable.

Lots of the ships now have cameras ... in the hallways, on the decks, etc. So if your travel agent can't tell you, research the cruise lines and international waters Laws. Better to be safe than sorry.

I don't know if that is a good idea!!! Thanks for the thought though.

I'm not tryin to put out negative vibes here, but if u get a somehwat bad feeling about it i would play it safe, u could get charged with tryin to smuggle the stuff if u bring it or u could get kicked off the cruise if they do check yer bags / have dogs, just my input, I would take some advice from some smoker friends who have ever been on a cruise and see what they have to say if they have been on cruises around your area :allgood:
