Oh man im praying for a couple of them i hope things get squared away and fast. Only key things is ph and ppms. I wish i could figure out what caused all that discoloration but i know if you get the ph and ppms settled your going to be fine.. dont panic yet bud your doing good you have alot of work on your hands. Youll get this figured out real fast. Temperature could be causing that (maybe)

Thanks for checking in on me :)

I *think* they're improving. I think I'm seeing some new growth on many of the plants. The temperature stays about 75 @ 55% humidity during lights on and 65 @ 55% during lights off. I can change it if it's an issue.

I'm running 2x 1000W HPS with Hortilux bulbs in 8" XXXL Sun System hoods. They're both hooked up to Lumitek digital balasts and currently running @ 600W until my plants look like they can stand the heart of the sun.

If the LED's fail to perform I'll be in the same boat with you, using them for veging/moms/etc. Kyle at advanced told me they should meet or beat a 1000w HPS... we shall see.

I highly doubt they'll outperform 1kW HPS, don't get me wrong they work but i think when using LEDs you have to know you're going to take a hit on yield to get other benefits associated with LEDs.

yo this is a sweet grow, your diving right into your first grow no fuckin around. nice. now i dont know much about hydroponics but wont the plants outgrow that tray you have them in? sorry if thats a noob question. this is really cool though im in! how much did that LED panel cost u?

They may outgrow the trays, since this is my first grow I'm not really sure. My intent is to flip them to flower a bit before they're going to start touching each other.

Each LED panel was ~2K so I'm into them for about 8K total right now.

I just turned the lights up to full strength last night... but they're still quite a ways from the canopy. I'll be posting new pics later today.

A couple questions...

1) Increasing nutrient strength - I'm trying to decide how to get from H&G week 1 at 65% strength which I'm running now to hit my 450PPM upto H&G week 1 100% strength without burning my plants. Is it safe to go from 450 to 600 or 650 in 1 rez change? I'm thinking about doing it this friday which will be 14 days in the trays for the plants.

2) Light distance to canopy - I'm thinking about puting the LEDs at ~22in from canopy and the HPS at 2-2.5ft. Does that sound reasonable? The LEDs heigh I'm basing of Magic Beans' thread where he did an analysis. The HPS's I found some threads that suggested 2ft was sufficient but I'm not sure. I did the "back of the hand" test and they do not burn me at 2ft away, just barely warm.
 
Nice set up man! I did almost the same kind of grow only on a smaller scale. I only had a 6x6 room to work so I ran a 4x4 flood table filled with the hydro rocks one 1k watt HPS in a Raptor hood and the old line of house and garden. I got around a 1.75 pound harvest out of that set up. I ran higher plant count like 40 in the 4x4. Your run will be fine if you saved those poor girls from the hell you already put them threw keep a close eye on your ppm and ph and you will be ok.
 
hey buddy hows things goin? well if you want to go to 600 thats fine but id take it progressively. like next rez change go to 525 ppm then over the next couple days add nutes to raise it to 575 then the next day go to where you want...its always better to under feed than over feed...always. plus you can check how your plants react to the ppm raise
