My recommended distance for this light & these strains is 20". Any lower, I was burning leaves & coverage loss began to be noticeable on the edges of the tent.
That said, this is not enough light for a full 4'x4' tent in my 2 grows of experience with it.
I grow & train to have flower canopies, not plant canopies, so I use every square inch, equally, of a grow space.
That said, the middle of the tent has HID-like growth, but as you move to the edges, the growth is noticeably smaller. The optimal footprint of this light is rectangular, not square, and it is not 4' x 4'. More like 3'-6" x 2'-6".
A single of these would be good for a single big plant or 2 in a big (4x4) space, but not a scrog-like grow.
My 600w HPS did a similar job. The differences I see at this point are:
The HPS bud is bigger, but not much & not as much lower (useable) growth.
I would need 2 smaller lights (or 1 more of these) to get the most of my grow space.
The HID setup uses more, is louder, & the plants are less lush/healthy as the growth under the LED setups.
Conclusion: I'm sticking with LED, but need another light for my specific usual space, 4'x4' & 5'x5' tents, to get the max out of the space.
The growing cycles under LED are superior than HID. It's a friendlier environment & makes HPS/MH seem like a desert.
The lack of fans & noise making shit sold me week 1.
The last week or 2 when the flowers are finishing is another phase where LED excels. The trich growth is pretty crazy.
Oh man, the lack of heat is kinda new. Actually takes some getting used to. I miss huddling up in the grow space during winter for warmth. But not really. Lol.

good to know that 450 watts of led lighting can compete with 600 watts of hid lighting.

The last of the OG clones. The bigger fans turned a gold, pink color the last week. I grew these in my bottle cloners. Little things, but great bud.

The Purps are ready!!!
I'm pretty stoked about BIDs Purps. I've never grown a people strain & these are beautiful.
Pretty purple. The smell is crazy. Tell perfumy & like fruit. I almost wanna take a bite out of one. The trichs are purple too.

So, for finishing, in raising the light about 4 to 6" & flipping the light back to "veg" mode. I've switched out over this morning.

I might still do it yet, I'll see when my new lights turn up if I can set it up. It does recommend to do it in the manual for my lights so there must be something in it

I'm chopping the Darkstar & Kush today. The Chiesel & Kalish will be harvested tonight.
Mini Smoke Report:
The Darkstar quick-dried buddlings are very hard hitting. This is some of the strongest indica I've ever smoked & I take concentrated cannabis oil daily. My tolerance is so high, I'm basically a walking weed plant.
This stuff is going to be crushing after I cure it.
The buds are really heavy with a good yield too. I'm guessing she went 4-5oz's.
The smell is...dank. That's the best description. Not pleasant at all. Like a musty, dank basement.
Harvest pics of the others & I think we're done here.

That's awesome Cajun! I know my Darkstar won't get that big, but now I'm really excited to get it going. Congrats on another spectacular harvest

That BID is looking so nice. The only purple I have grow is purple because of the temps outside. That one of yours is gorgeous. Your harvest is also looking might hefty too.
