C99 345W LED Grow Test

I love cindy, and was psyched to see what they would do under led's. Oh well.
I'll have to come check u out magic beans.
c-ya on the forums

Some people share some people don't share. It is all good. I do not share much. A grow journal is a personal thing. I do watch a lot other forums. I was watching this one too... I thought your LED's were doing very good compared to the results I got from LED's. I wish you would see this through. I would like to see more updates!!

Ok guys, sorry I didnt reply sooner. I dont check that email very often.

First Id like to say thanks for the love, absence really does make the heart grow fonder :)

Second, although every person enjoys a good pat on the back, I know I grow good dope. I wouldnt mind people letting me know they are following however, as I do "Hey nice journal Im sub'd" My intent for starting a grow journal was to provide those thinking about switching to LEDs, with some useful information/documentation. I know everyone likes the bud porn including myself, but thats not a good enough reason for me to stick around while leo is out there watching us.

Steve - I started my grow journal from seed because I saw thats what most do, so I figured people like to see that, I originally wasnt going to post until I had bud porn.

Magic - I know how to play well with others, although you havent seen me on other peoples journals I am following 9 and commented a few times in them. Anymore than that for me and diminishing returns takes over. I have also significantly been involved in helping 2 newbies. Most who have said something in my journal, I have read their entire journal page for page as well. I didnt get around to yours because you recently posted in my journal and I was already thinking about abandoning mine. I could have browsed yours quickly and said I read it but Im thorough.

I will continue posting, I just wanna know people are following that Im actually helping to make a decision to go LED or not - dig guys?

Ill post a gardem update later tonight.

Hope yall dont think I was complaining about not getting attention. If it were attention I was after I would have quit this journal a while ago :p I just felt like my documentation was in vain. Thats all.

Thanks for the replys -

Not in vain, for me anyway. I am interested in led's and watch several led journals. So I say thanks.
I guess I should comment more, lurk less. Let the brave journalers know we are here silently watching. :)

I second that! I've been lurking on every LED grow journal on this site and some other sites for years now. The first year or two LED's were too weak and anything ran at over 100mA was close to $5 each. Now you can get good growth and the industry has developed. (You can get 5 watt LED for that price now.) For the past year and a half you have had 2 or 3 companies that make a decent to good product getting a bad rap due to the 15000 cheap Chinese imports that are simply thrown together with no R&D, testing, and even worse, going off stuff they read on a forum and placing a order with a little bit of extra play money. Then for the next year after that, you have people dooming all LED's as being giant pieces of crap and spewing more bad information.

Over the past few years, I personally have spent tens of thousands of dollars paying for research papers (can't always get them from my old University), buying lights, burning up drivers, and buying test equipment. Those companies that took the time to produce these LED's correct have a huge overhead before things ever get off the ground. The price you pay for a good LED grow light is well worth it. Last week I lost over $500 in LED's alone testing overdrive currents, heat production, and what my heat sink can handle. (FYI you cannot drive a 3 watt LED at 2A for very long regardless of how good your heat sink works... internal failure occurs.) I learned an important lesson tho, manufacturers limits are not 100% accurate and I can design one hell of a heat sink without a thermodynamics degree :)

Garden update: 23 days flowering.

Yesterday was the first day I gave all the girls the full recommended dosage of nutes according to FF.

The last pic is for you illynboy to show you how much pruning I did so you know I did some prior to moving to the flower room. You understand I dont prune much, just up to the kneecaps, I know you said you like a thin canopy. Oh and btw, the one with 11 blades, not budding like the rest. It may be a longer flowering pheno or maybe its not even in the same family, however it looks similiar to the others. Its number 10.

Thus far I cant complain about the LEDs. If anything at least it makes for very artistic photos :) Anyway promised an update so enjoy. Not quite bud porn yet -

This is why I watch your thread. I am actually surprised you are getting the great results you are with the LED lights. I must have have a bad LEDs because your plants look like they are flowering very nicely. Good Job. :bravo:

Thanks guys, I think the research that goes into the light configuration is a very important aspect when ordering from chinese manufacturers. They can make 'em but cant design 'em. I dont think you had a bad LED closetfarmer maybe just bad design - who knows.

The LED lights I have are the UFO model. They actually work great for veg. However, they would not work well for flowering.

Your flowers are looking nice! :bongrip:

Ricky

Keep up the good work.

Just because we don't all post doesn't mean we aren't watching.

And I am sure the LED has a lot of people watching to see the END results more than the every day "I fertilized, I pruned, etc"

Sometimes I just give a quick glance or read a sentence or two if the post is big and is just trading comments or compliments rather than info that could help me or others.

I sometimes get a little discouraged too if I don't get a lot of responses to a post, but If one guy learns or appreciates something I have posted, it's all good with me.

Damn man, lookin NICE!

I def. think Ill be "ready" for my 2nd grow with all the help and input youve given me along the way, much appreciated, and good to see you back! :yahoo::yummy:

From your results Im def. gonna look into this 345w Penetrator!

Not to jack your thread Ricky. @JWB, take a look at the site's sponsors as well. They all have great lights and there are journals to document their effects. Also, ask Ricky if he would purchase form the same company again or if he would go with someone else. Customer support and satisfaction are huge considerations for me when making a purchase.
