Buds Buddy Does DWC: Critical 2.0 For The 1st Time

Well I'm kind of amazed at the plants today. Barely any curl left in the leaves. Looks like they grew .5" & another set of leaves over night. Still look a little rough; but I have some hope for them now.
I think in a week things will look OK again & they'll actually look like plants ... lol. I think they like their new home.

I've been watching my room temp & RH & everything seems to be going good out there even in 107 Degree Heat outside. My low temp has been 72 F & the high temp 77 F. I think I can be happy with that.
My RH high was 66% & the Low was 45% so I'm content there also.
pH I'm checking daily & adjusting to 5.8.
ppm is still at 348.
Haven't checked the PAR / Lux yet. Keeping the light high the 1st week till these girls recover more.
But all in all ... things look better this morning.
I'll post pics tomorrow for an update.

Sorry haven’t been getting notifications. Room looks and sounds like it’s performing as planned. Once the roots get out of the hydroten the explosive growth should happen. I’ll check more often since I’m having issues with being notified.

A little update with some pics. Just checked buckets & pH was 5.9 so left it alone. ppm was 347 so nothing to mess with there either. Room is now staying 55 - 65% RH & Temps were 72 F low & 77 F high.
Plants look better; but not out of the woods yet. I noticed 1 single root poking out the side of the net pot in each of the plants.
Here's some pics.

Plants are looking much better. :thumb:
Everything seems to be in order, the only advice I could give you now is that I notice those blue water level tubes on the sides of your bucket are not taped. Do yourself a favor and wrap those up with black electrical tape, algae loves to form in those tubes.

Hmmm, I was told to buy the Blue Hoses instead of Clear for that reason. The pre-manufactured DWC buckets all come with Blue Hoses. If they need to be black I'll go buy black hoses as I don't care for sloppiness. I had a roommate move out on me once. He said I was too much of a neat freak for him. I just call it organized. If the power goes out & I need something I can easily find it in the dark. I like things that way ... lol.

I'll ask this question again because the guy at the Hydro store says they are 2 totally different things.
I hear some use Hydro Guard. Some use Z7. Some use both. So is there a difference in these 2 products ? If so what is each one used for ? Do I need both ?
LMK so I can pick the stuff up tomorrow if needed. Hydro store closed on Sunday.
As far as the Cal Mag goes .... Should I buy something liquid or get the Greenleaf stuff since I'm using MC ? Plan on ordering Bud Explosion & Sweet Candy anyway for my next photo grow.

Ya im pretty sure light penetrates those tubes, I could be wrong though. As far as hydroguard and z7 goes they do the same thing, but I prefer hydro guard. I wouldn’t buy their cal-mag product. Most people use botanicare or some other liquid cal-mag, I use true plant science organic oac cal-mag.. it has nothing in it but calcium and magnesium, no nitrogen so I love that stuff.

It’s personal preference taping the blue tubes. Once the canopy is formed you won’t have to worry about anything forming. I don’t tape up the sight tubes but I do for the tubes that run from the buckets To my Rez, I use foam rubber insulation from a hardware store so no light and less loss of temperature through the hoses.

You ask about Hydroguard and Z7. It’s personal preference again, they are mostly the same. Stick with one and I don’t mix the two. I use Hydroguard and am pleased with the results. 2 mil per gl. The root zone will love you for it. Once they reach the solution below....standby for some vertical growth, you’re nodes are tight and will reach a point quickly where you will need to decide to Top or Fim. Then the scrog net will come into question of....how will I be able to see my roots? You won’t if using a net. Don’t worry....you don’t see them in soil either.....no worries they are still there and white. A funky smell will be your tell tail sign something is amiss. Continue to use Hydroguard or Z7 whichever you choose and refilling the buckets while pouring over the top of the hydroten will help with anything trying to form on the top of the hydroten.

Hows the Pooch? Still kicking I hope.

The blue hoses are o.k, near the start they might get a touch of green on the inside, so when i do a nute change and if they happen to have a bit of a green color in them, all i do is i have a gun cleaning rod i attach a little cloth on the end and run it up and down a couple of times, then twist the hose at the elbo carefully and let a little water run through and your good. Anything will do with a little cloth attached to the end. if you use black hose you won't see the level and you want to see how much water it is drinking later on in the grow so you can replace when it gets low. :peace:

Forgot to answer your CalMag question. Get some....liquid or powder, I prefer liquid since my grow is only two sites. As well, you know, from previous grows that these plants are CalMag hogs. I use it every nute change. Additionally, for me it’s the first deficiency that shows up if one does so I have it available just in case.

Thanks for the tips. My little buddy has gone totally blind. He's running into thing but starting to figure it out. See's a doc Friday.
