Bud Washing

it taste smoother as water cured buds do.

I still have to ask - Why? I don't spray my plants at all, and indoors has hepa filters etc. There is no need to wash the buds.

Water curing is a real process, but involves soaking the buds for days. The end result is tasteless, odorless, smooth smoke.

I am NOT sold!!
have never done it, most likely will NEVER do it!
I have a superior product as is, no degradation is evident in a simple natural & well honed method.
BTW: thank You in advance " those many" who have expanded my experience!
I have shamelessly copied & used the vast wealth of info thru out the Internet world!

Just sayin,

Thought I'd post some post-wash photos of trichs, for what it's worth.
Spicy White Devil which is JackXBlueberry. Washed vigorously, at full strength, with lemon and bksoda.
It's important to note, that these were also trimmed, prior to wash.

As mentioned previously, they look none the worse for wear! In fact, I don't even notice a gland missing damn!
@PeeJay posted a pic of some of his buds post wash, and it was evident that he knocked some resin heads off with his wash! I wonder what you two did that was different?!
Can you elaborate a little in regards to "washed vigoursly"?

And @ Doc Bud, do you think that the foaming agents used are capable lifting dust and dander from the super sticky stalks and heads? Or just the leaf matter for the most part?!

:peace: & Blessings!

I pretty much beat them - like they owe me money. I hold the end of the cola, and plunge it into the buckets, almost as fast as I can, and jerk it back, so that I can feel the heavy buds swing backward on the taut stem. Vigorously. I splash them around like that for about 20, 30 seconds or so, and then pop them into the next bucket - where they will wait, till I move them all again. They get manhandled, but then pampered again. :) Quart glass jars, plenty of Bovedas :)

They look none the worse for wear to me.

I have noticed no difference, and I have some before hand photos as well. My USB micro tags them by date, and she's a recent harvest. I'll find the before pix. :peace::Namaste:

Let me just say, I certainly wouldnt turn down a bowl or spliff of that!

Nice response brother! And thanks for the time in replying!
As you can tell by the inquisitive nature in my posts, I'm still trying to convince myself that I must try it, even tho I'm months away from harvesting lol!
But really, thanks again for taking the time to post here and share brother.
Every little bit helps! I know for sure that I'm gonna at least try it out.
I just know from what I've read, that I need to do it right after harvest, so I'm trying to get as much info as I can in regards.
Another tough thing about making the decision is that you don't see is going on anywhere but here.
I'm a very skeptical person lol. Of everything that sort of challenges what I know to be "normal" you know?
I like my comfort zone maybe just a little too lol

And you gotta love the Boveda's right?!
If I were the head of the company, I just might charge more for them lol!
They're that good!

If you search way, way back, you'll find that I mentioned using Boveda's on 420 about 4 years ago. Before lots of people have heard of them.

Same deal with washing buds. You haven't heard of it yet, because it's a new idea....cutting edge even.

Wash the buds, you'll never go back.

Found them! :Namaste: Here are a few before/after the wash. Picture file name is the date in US format. Harvest was Feb19. Samples were random, and were taken to determine whether the plant was ripe (looking for amber), so there was no effort to standardize them - they are different magnification even, so it's just for reference really. I read about the process, developed by DocBud, about a year ago - and have washed all of my harvests since. :peace: I LOVE my buds, they are my gifts to myself. I wouldn't compromise them in any way. :peace:

Before: 2-3 days before chop, plant is still intact (LESS MAGNIFIED THAN THE FOLLOWING SET)

Post harvest, 3-4 days after chop (MORE MAGNIFIED THAN PRIOR SET, Looking for amber)

Are you sure you didn't mix 'em up? :cheesygrinsmiley:

~beat it ... beat it good ...~ :slide:

Actually, I'm gonna go a little more gentle on mine than I have been - just nice to know they're that sturdy. :cheesygrinsmiley:
