Bubba Kush / GDP Quadline - First Grow

Good morning all! I've been meaning to get around to starting a journal to keep track of my progress but life has kept me busy. I don't have a ton of time to backlog all of my progress so I'll start from where I'm at and go from here. I've kept a detailed journal in a handy little app on my phone for my future use though so I've done well at documenting everything I've done.

For starters I'm currently at day 49 from sprout and the quadline has been a fun experience for me as a new grower. I chose to quadline based on height limitations and because I took a heavy interest in the training method once I learned of it.

The girls are currently at about 10.25" and I believe I need to be under 14" before flipping just to be sure I've got enough space so I may be flipping soon. Accounting for light, pot, base, etc... I've got about 30" of grow space while leaving about 12" of space between light and plants. I've also left about a 4" buffer out of that equation just incase things go differently than planned.

I stopped doing any training to them about a week ago now and since they have grown from 5.5" to 10.25".

My Environment:
2x4x5 Tent
SF2000 light
AC Infinity 4" Pro Kit with Smart Controller
Dehumidifier (humidity reaching about 65 during lights out)
2 x 6" fans
5 gallon fabric pots

I have another small panel 100w LED light that I can use to supplement light during flower if i need to.

Strains:
Bubba Kush
Granddaddy Purp

Nutrients/Soil:
Fox Farms Ocean Forest
Fox Farms Big Bloom
Fox Farms Grow Big
Fox Farms Tiger Bloom

I have a handful of other Fox Farms stuff but I am hesitant to use more of them because of non-organic factor. I don't want to use Grow Big or Tiger Bloom either but the plants definitely needed the boost from them. So any suggestions for ways of going completely organic in next grow are welcome. I will be doing my fair share of research prior to beginning next grow.

These are photos from day 44, I'll take more recent ones this evening when I feed them. They definitely looked a lot more beefy and full this morning when I peaked at them.

Excellent training.
The garden looks fantastic :thumb:
Great start.

Nice start to your grow journal @BsWeeds24

Your girls look healthy just a little hungry.
What is the ppm's of your current nutrient solution?

Stay safe and grow well my friend,
Tok..

Thanks for the feedback, I've been thinking something was a bit off with the GDP specifically. The plant on the right.

Last two feeds were about 650-700 with all the nutrients. My last runoff test was about 6.6ph and 900 ppm.

I'm running 100% of the FF schedule (BB, GB & TB) with Ocean forrest soil. Where could I increase or supplement?

I have not used Fox Farm myself, but the little research I have done in the past tells me that they run very high ppm's. The level of ppm's you are using is where I would be at. Since FF runs very rich what does your solution consist of and the amount?

Tok..

I'm mixing my feed in a 1 gal jug.

I'm using this trio here and am currently using the outlined section. I have most of the others but haven't used any but the Wholly mackerel. I of course don't use their 12/12 lighting, I'm still on 18/6.

I mix into a gal jug. My tap water runs about 75ppm. I let set for 24 hours.

3 tsp Big Bloom, 2 tsp Grow Big, 2 tsp Tiger Bloom. Usually ph balances my tap right at 6.4 and usually runs right about 650-700 ppm. Average about 600 ppfd and lights are currently about 20" from canopy.

After doing more research I would suggest you up the Grow Big by 1 teaspoon per gallon/4 liters. You may be just a little light on your nitrogen. If this is the case you should see results after a few days with the leaves get a little darker.

Remember, I have not used Fox Farm nutrients before; this is just an observation.

Tok..
Not questioning your knowledge at all, rather trying to understand what you're seeing.

You're thinking they need more nutes cause they are kind of light? I have noticed slight yellowing of tips of Bubba Kush and slight downward curling of tips on GDP. I also had some dark brown spots on lower fan leaves of GDP but haven't seen them again since I removed those.

I will try upping that GB by a teaspoon on tonight's feed. Just realized I put tbsp in previous post, that is incorrect I am using a teaspoon.

Excited to post updated pics tonight, they've stretched and have gotten bushy.

Day 49 from sprout

Upped GB to 4 tsp and kept BB & TB at normal dose. 6.4ph and 720ppm

Both plants took 1/2 gal with minimal runoff. Wasn't enough to test, I'll make sure I get enough runoff to test on next feed.

I also got a nice little surprise from both plants today! I think they're showing that they're females!

:woohoo: Welcome to 420Mag!

I see Bill284 and Tokin Roll are here already! They are Incredible Growers, you should check out their Journals! They can definitely help you out when needed!

I'm just stopping by to drool over your plants, they look Great! I assume you've been growing a while?

Congratulations on the Girlz dropping some pubics, I assumed they were Fem seeds? If so... Phew! No surprises! :green_heart:

Wow, I really appreciate that! To be honest this is my very first grow so I am pleased with how it has gone. Even more pleased with my quadline.

Yes they were fem seeds but still a relief and also an awesome milestone for my first grow. Now I will feel more comfortable with flipping.

WOW! I Really would not have guessed you were a Virgin!

If you post pics, update often, and ask when you need help... I am pretty sure (99.9%) your Cherry 🍒 popping experience is gonna be Awesome!

Again.. Welcome! Thanks for sharing! :lot-o-toke:
Haha thanks brother I'll definitely be posting a lot. I cannot wait to start seeing some buds, of course when timing is right. Don't think we're far from it though.

I use Fox Farms nutes on Photoperiod grows. If you follow their schedule, you will get Great results. Always use Cal -Mag also. I have their sledgehammer also but yet to have used it.
I have a bottle of cal-mag but haven't introduced it.

How are you using it? Ratio-wise? Do you add it in with the main trio?

I have read so many different things about the cal-mag both good and bad so I've been hesitant. I've really tried not stepping outside of the main 3.

Thanks man!

I use 1.5 Tsp per gallon of water put the Cal-Mag in with water before adding any nutrients. They should tell you that on the bottle. Use Cal-Mag even if you just water your plants between feedings.

Roger that man I will do more research on it before my next feed and may pop the seal on it. I've got the whole line of their nutes, the non-organic factor of a lot of it is why I haven't opened them.

Do you use everything in the feeding schedule?

Just follow their Schedule You'll be Happy You did. Their Nutes won't kill you or make you sick. I'm Proof of that. LMAO!

Yes, but not the Bush Doctor Sledgehammer but I have it. It's for flushing your plants if you think you have salt build up, I guess.
