BrixNewb's First Grow & Beyond

Same problems here with cloning... I lost my ways again.

My first attempt at concentrates - Green Dragon. Almost ate my whole kitchen down with munchies.... now understanding how brownies could be dangerous.

I seem to have cloning down (although this morning I pulled a clone out to find some white fuzz on the lower part), as long as I don't let them dry out too much. The germination is what's been kicking my ass. Luckily it seems as though I have found an easy enough method.

Got the Octopot underway, soon to have a hempy plant or two underway with Texas Tomato nutrients, lots of experimentation going on around these parts. Although the Octopots take up a good bit of my vertical space, so they will have to really shine to become part of my grow.

Sue had asked me a couple days ago if I had been weighing my harvests and I realized that it has probably been months since I have taken a weight on a plant I harvested. Being that we are experimenting with different things in the garden, I decided to weigh the Katsu Bubba x Blueberry Temple plant that we harvested the other day. I had already cobbed 42 grams of semi-dried bud, but the remainder weighed 125 grams. All tallied, that brings me over 5 ounces from one plant, that's really good for me, super happy. Glad I decided to weigh her!

It was sweet to see the boost to your confidence level when you weighed her. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart: The two remaining in the flowering tent look like they're every bit as big if not bigger.

My arm is stretched straight from my shoulder joint. These girls are huge!

They're also beautifully, colorfully, fragrantly, delightful to be around.

Off to one side the Octopot/TTF experiment is shining! One week into her flip, she started stretching two days ago and today she's in bloom. :yahoo:

Look! The newer residents. :battingeyelashes:

Back here we have one of the strangest cannabis plants I've seen. She has speckled leaves that I thought were a concern until I noticed how healthy she was and looked closer.

She displays what Brix identified as a "Duck's Foot" leaf structure, where leaves stack themselves, something brand new to me.

She had a moment of struggle a ways back, but she seems to be doing well, though in her own eccentric way. Lol!

One of Brix's pups has a taste for cannabis leaves, dancing under foot, ever-hopeful for a dropped treat. Tonight we discovered he'd been helping himself.

Maybe she'll push out stronger oils to counteract the grazing. Lol!

Can't leave without a picture of the young ones now, can I?

Sure is fun being here. :slide:

Easy come easy go Brix. Sometimes it just happens.

I'm getting better at letting go. lol.

It took B.B. :yahoo: The ever-popular Purple Punch lives for another rotation. A cutting got potted up this evening. :battingeyelashes:

I took pictures of the flowering part of Brix’s garden to share. I know, big surprise. Lol!

The veg tent is coming along nicely, waiting for more space in the big tent.

My vegging girls are holding up the back wall. :battingeyelashes:

The real show is in the big tent. :slide: Starting on the early side....

She’s in bloom! WooHoo! Odd though she may be, let’s hope she delivers surprisingly interesting and potent buds.

Moving over to the older girls....

Let’s start with the Octopot girl, in her third week of bloom. Next week she’s scheduled to switch to Texas Tomato Fertilizer, but I suspect Brix’ll Jump the gun and start her with the next water addition to the reservoir. She never drinks from above any more, especially now that her roots have found the reservoir.

Brix has a companion PC in kit soil, running a week behind this specimen, for purposes of comparison.

Sitting beside her is the Purple Punch furthest into flowering. What a magnificent chemovar, smelling like candy with a dank twist. Mmmm....

And behind her, the remaining of the three Katsu Bubba x Blueberry Temple specimen’s. Brix hopes to keep her going another two weeks so I can assist with the harvest. He’s learned how handy it is to have another pair of hands for trimming. Lol!

She shows no signs of slowing down. He waits for them to stop drinking and she’s still sucking down drenched within four days. A strong and hearty specimen in her own right, she looks to come close to the bountiful harvests her sisters brought in.

That’s all for today. I’ll be flying to California on Wednesday for a 12 day cannabis playtime of DrDoob’s making, so I won’t be posting any more lovely shots of this garden until I return. I’ll miss them. Lol! It’s been fun documenting a garden this huge! I’ve grown in numbers, but my plants never reached this size and yield. IMO, Brix is doing a bang-up job of working Doc’s kit. :battingeyelashes:

You got that right Birdie. Not sure I could handle two of her ;)

Thanks for the thought Ween, but I will ALWAYS be a Brix newb!

Yeah, I got all the girls down that are coming down at this point. Now I can take a little break for a few weeks.

Things are cruising right along. Babysitting Sue's girls while she is away. Trying out the Octopot, looks like she is wanting more calcium, so I added a little bit yesterday. Got some girls that are ready to up can that I am going to try running Hempy with. Other than that nothing new.

Other than that nothing new.

Except the girl trying to take over his flowering tent.

See her, over there taking up more than her allotted share of real estate? Lol!

Good grief, she’s a lovely specimen, cal/mg concerns notwithstanding. He’s taking care of that with CaliMagic and I suspect she’ll recover nicely, if you buy into the idea that anything can slow her down.

Mighty impressive. I’ll give Octopot that. She exploded with vigorous bud sites and spread out in a way no one really anticipated. Charging into flowering mode, this one. It’ll be fun to watch her finish on Texas Tomato and CaliMagic and nothing else. :slide:

I’ll get more pictures taken over the next couple days. His garden looks luscious. :green_heart:

Looking good..

I did see Jetdro tell someone they needed to flip early in the Octo's or they would take over. looks to be true.
I think I am going to try the smaller size Octopot and see if that makes a more manageable plant. If I stuck with plants this size I would only want to grow 3 in a 4'x8'. But yes, she is impressive. Never had anything close to this size, and she looks like she will be a nice yielder too.

Two SweetSue's in the same space time continuum would maybe create a Unicorn or a huge cannabis plant. I hate math so will leave that for the mathematicians.

Sue would fly in riding a cannabis unicorn.

I’m still laughing at that.

Ok, time to show off the other side of Brix’s flowering tent and one of his vegging girls.

He has three Pineapple Chunks running at th moment. One is stalled in veg hoping for space to open up.

Running one week behind the Octopot girl we have the youngest one in flower.

Then there’s that statuesque beauty usurping so much space Brix has to rearrange.

The rest of the girls are looking sexy in their own way.

There are two Purple Punches growing. They have the most incredible fragrance. Makes you want to eat them on the spot. Lol!

He also has two specimens of Lemon Lotus x Love Gift that we figure must be two different pheno expressions.

Though there are obvious similarities there are some glaring differences as well. The taller girl has red spines on the upper fans.

The stouter of the two has plain coloration on her leaf spines.

The lanky girl has rich purpling to her stem...

....while her shorter sister lacks the hue.

Here they are side by side. The one on the far left behind #2 is #1. Cute, eh? Lol!

It’ll be interesting to see how different the harvests turn out.

Gotta end with a pretty one. :battingeyelashes:
