Brightlight Thank you for showing those amazing plants to the world. I honestly don't understand how you seem to harvest a plant so often. The colors on them are amazing. Organics right? :thumb:

It's a fly that mimics bees. I see them outside around my basil plants all the time. I think they feed on the nectar of most plants like bees.

Thanks. That's where I've seen it!

Welcome HiddenGrow. Thanks for joining us, the kind words, & info on bee like fly. The way they can "hover" made me think they were of bee family. Separate veg & flower tents allow me to harvest more frequently. Took last summer off & came back fired up to grow. Starting to run out of gas a little so will slow it down a bit. Yes, organic style growing. :Namaste:

Awesome journal and description of the high u get from the Indicas. If u don't mind me asking what were your favorite indica dom/ strains you've tried

Seems I can't even remember what I grow anymore. But a few other indicas that I've grown & favored besides the Sensi Star I mentioned are the recent LA Affie. Pure 100% Afghani at its best...rich flavor, great effect. I often select it as well as Sensi Star as 1st bowl of the day. The OG Rascal White Master Kush was a standout. Hard to find nowadays as OGR seems to have disappeared again. Some White Urkle still out there. Emerald Triangle Lost Coast OG is a 60-40 I/S that is also special. Haven't tried the more prevalent HSO version. Recent Pisces Cookie Tang has been best cookie cross to date. RP Strawberry Banana also worthy. From the old time classics I still love Romulan, Northern Lights, Purple Urkle, Bubba. Lots of so so Bubbas due its popularity but a good one is excellent. Gonna get back into some of these classics soon. Well there's a few for you.

Gorilla Dosha
Another IHG DoSiDo cross. Huge plant, huge yielder. Wild grower, rough & ready knobby looking bud, colors beautifully late. The Sour Dubb, Thai & Chem in GG4 pairs well w/ the heavier DoSiDo. Good level of sativa genetics in GG4.

Sensi Star
At planting I had 2 seeds left...one breeder seed & one seed from 2013 outdoor grow. Went w/ the older outdoor hermie seed. Funny used to be outdoor growers would usually be happy when we got a seed off of an outdoor female. Always fat & viable. This pheno is a green, leafy, nondescript huge plant. There's a smaller less leafy one that frosts up like hell too. Wanted to see what would happen if I grew a herm. seed indoors. Grew just like her outdoor mother....leafy, not that pretty. No male sacs at all but took her to 64 days & last wk. or so she started throwing late bloom bananas like crazy. I observed for a couple of days before chopping. Bud looks like nice outdoor bud but she made up for it by delivering a really superb SS high. So while not going to be a common practice, may be ok to grow hermy seeds insides if careful.

Current Plants in Flower
From the freebie jar....G13 Labs Blueberry Gum. Haven't grown any BB for yrs. plus always liked Hash Plant. G13 Labs seems good. Have grown several freebies but never bought any of their strains. Great logo.

Delusional OG
Crazy name but great genetics. My 1st Illuminati strain. Despite OG name, really a sativa dominant strain. Bohdi's famous Goji OG x Pestilence. Goji has the Nepali OG in it. Bohdi paid $20,000 for it back in 2004. Pestilence is one of Illuminati's signature strains...Abusive OG x West Coast Dawg. Will be one the last 3 of 9 to mature. At least 2+ more wks. Showing some promise.

Frosted Strawberries
Kyle Kushman Strawberry Cough x The White. This is the Relentless version. drcannabi grew the Connoisseur version to perfection awhile back. Fast finish...these pics at 50 days. Last feed was at 41 days. Will be harvested this wk. Good validation that Bright Light Mega can grow. Crimson/purple leaf tips, edges, & undersides giving her a rosy, gray look. Trichomes that anyone can love.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

The Strawberrys are a very early strain, and beautiful. You got me thinking about not feeding the tent/yard SHYs anymore. Checking trics at 55 days. What fun! You grow pretty weed BL. Great Day and Great Growing.

Spot on HG... there are a lot of insects that try and mimic others for survival.

I think that one is a Hover Fly.. she looks a lot like a honey bee.

I don't think birds eat honey bees but love flies, so look like something that has bad taste ... hiding in plain site as it were.

My favorite kind of stealth!

Kinda like young stoners going to the park to get high in the parking lot.. cops come, they have no where to go...arrested.

Park in the Walmart parking lot and we look just like every one else. Puff puff pass... cops come, lock doors and go into Wally World for a laugh or 3. Not that I'm promoting driving and puffing...whatever, cause that's just stupid. A friend of mine told me that story! :smokin:

Wow ... how did I get here?

BL nuggatage looking mighty fine indeed.

For me and the stony weeds, I think a lot of it depends on harvest time. I like to chop when the calyx's are fat and full. I get more of a head high first then the mellowness after, which I like.

Hey thanks my friend... That came today..... Once I get my electric all dialed in I'll be starting up some fresh strains... Hope alls' well in your neighborhood.... Keepem Green

Just stumbled across your journal brightlight. Im dave you mind if I take a seat you seem like you have alot of experience and knowledge and the pictures from your former grows say the same

Welcome Cannoisseuras/Dave. Thanks for joining us & your kind words. Please join in anytime you wish.

Harvesting the 1st group under the Mega. Works similarly to the Neosol but improved coverage & penetration. Designed for a 5x5 flower footprint, I like what I'm seeing with it under a 4x4 footprint. The white light may waste a few watts but what a treat on a daily basis....seeing them under natural light.

Late rainy season helped with cooler temps & good rH....but last few days the 1st heat wave of the yr. hit. Not the best for drying but cooler temps soon.

Those that looked like an early finish got last feed at 41 days. Some samples taken at 48 days. Good impression on these early samples so harvested several at 8 to 9 wk. range. Plenty ripe. Returning to bud appearance as primary harvest indicator.....far less reliance on trichomes. Used to be that's how most did it before the trichome/microscope era. Waiting for trichomes has caused me to go too long more times than not.

Relentless Genetics Frosted Strawberries.
Kyle Kushman Strawberry Cough x The White.
Tiny in veg, it grew tall & didn't want to stop so was topped at ~6 nodes. Then multiple super crops to continue limiting height. For my setup, "tall" means ~30". Breeder said tall phenos lean toward The White. Earthy, musk fragrance. Lots of frost. Sneaky color in there too. More on high later...early samples, too many strains being sampled, but remember that it was quite good.

A small from way down on a lateral. Happy with this kind of penetration.

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

That Reckless looks bomb :thumb: Plants are looking super lush, with a beautiful fade. As someone that's played around with more than a few light configurations, white light seems to aid general health - so I'm sure they appreciate the few extra watts.

Never grown The White yet.....I've only grown the one S.Cough cross, and the leafs were somewhat similar to your FS...color creeped on too. It was that SSD I ran, and still rave about. Wicked underrated imo. :volcano-smiley: Can't wait to hear how the smoke is. :Namaste:

re: Brightlight's Strain Fest - Organics & LED

Beautiful pictures... Hey I threw a Tahoe Star on a towel and cracked in under 24 hours and resting nicely in some soil now... Should peek out in aday or two.. Keepem Green
