Breaking Brix: Buck's DIYs

I don't think it will matter. But I'll try to find out for sure. All it's doing is making a loop, in theory shouldn't matter if it's before the pot or after. Damn canna I wish we new, couldn't tell by the pics. You ran it for while.
Yeah haha It seemed to work fine until the meters were installed and I realised it wasn't pulling anywhere near what it was supposed to, but it took my autos well into flowering anyways .

Growmau put his on the positive lead so I'm assuming as long as it's on one it's fine.

It was hard to tell by the pictures for sure, even at that low of a wattage these things pump out the light!

I also realised I have to rewire my original panel because for some reason I thought Black was Pos and White was Neg and now it hurts my OCD and I have to switch it .

I also took my 4000k panel thats hanging off the 250k pot and put both drivers on their own 100k pots since it seemed to run one driver harder than the other. So that is cool for a temp fix but I'm staying away from the 250k pots from this point forward.

Never used the 250k pots, I'd have to do math. It shouldn't matter on which side the resistor, by the way it works it doesn't matter which side of the pot.

Yea wire color bothers me sometimes, but I used red/black for my ac hookups. In DC the black is normally always negative(common), red is hot. AC 240v single phase black and red is your hots.

Got my new toys today. I've never seen a package that was wrapped so good, even the driver boxes were wrapped with 2" of foam.

I was surprised on how thick the heatsinks are, 1.25". Just hope the work as good as they look

I was kinda looking at that, might move the 2 cobs to outside edges and have double board in middle. I'm thinking it won't be to bad, the frame is 54"x60". And also I won't be using my tent this time, it'll be covering 30sq ft.
Can you wire the board so you can control dimming/spectrum individually?

The boards have 4 channels,2-white, 1-blue/uva, 1-red. To use the controller I had to get 3 drivers, one for each color. I'll be able to dim and adjust each color separately, but have to tie all 5 boards together. If I want to control only 1 board, gotta have 3 drivers. I'm thinking if I move cobs in middle row to outside edges and double board in middle shouldn't have too much if hot spot. I'll check everything with meter, as long as everything is within 150 ppfd I should be good.

I would slide those center boards out to make two even rows of three boards. It will be the most uniform. Then fill in the cobs around them.

The problem is it's one heatsink, double the length. I thought about that after I ordered lol. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too bad. He has a 1200w fixture, with 6-200w boards grouped close together. That center row will only have 2 cobs on outer edges and the board in middle. I'd hate to buy 2 more singles, I got a fortune in the 5 I got now with controller and drivers. At 5 ft wide, it'll be spread out( I hope)

Shouldn't be a big deal, the boards should have a bigger foot print than a cob.
Your makin me wanna start upgrading my cob setup again, gotta kick this addiction!

I just got the test kit sent off. That was really simple and fast to do. Took longer driving to post office lol. The test has 4 squares per card. They give you 4 stakes to mark your plants with a spot on the card.

I only had to clip small portion of the bottom cotyledon leaf(round ones). Then place it in corresponding inner card square.

Then just close the cover, I used round end of screwdriver and smashed sample. Open card back up and gently wipe away excess plant material.

I repeated this 8 times. It's important to make sure you clean scissors or tweezers with a minimum of 91% alcohol between samples. So you don't have any cross contamination.

This turned out to be a very simple and easy procedure. The instructions were very easy to follow. If you have any questions you can actually call a real person. For just a few plants these kits are great. But if you have a lot of plants it could get expensive. I just checked their prices, if you only buy 2-4 plant test kits, the price is $128.59. I thought that is kinda steep, but if buy more it gets cheaper, down to $10 a test. At $10, I think that's a great price. It's worth $10 to not waste 2 months of electric and nutes.

Hoping everyone is having a great weekend .. Going to lake, can't wait to see some fat girls in bikinis.

That's way cool Buck, I'm interested to see this process.

So if you buy a 4 test kit do you have to send in all 4 at the same time or could you send in say 1 every other month or even say like 2 per year?
