Brazilian with Swiss roots growing on HPA

I would like to introduce myself. I'm LukeHighWalker, a Brazilian/Swiss engineer with Swiss roots living in Switzerland.
Mostly interested in technologies around growing and a real DIY-hands on guy.
Welcome to The Forum @LukeHighWalker !

If you like DIY and ever want to grow in soil, check out the #SIP Club thread. We get hydro type growth in a soil based media.

I don't know much about your style but would like to follow along. See if I can learn something. :thumb:

Have you had any problems with roots growing into the drains? Thats my problem now and not too many people doing areoponics. I'm looking forward to see how everything goes with your setup always need ideas to make it better
@Wrecked11, yup! My plant roots seem to have a sixth sense for drains too. Like divining rods, but for drains. After some botanical tinkering, I found that a rhythm of "7 seconds on, disco break for 600 seconds" is the sweet spot for watering. Just a heads up, though: it's like balancing a three-legged stool of EC, pH, and VPD. If they're not singing in harmony, the plants will be the first to tell you... usually by throwing a leafy tantrum. 🌱🎤🕺

Thanks a lot, @Azimuth! The concept of growing on soil based media together with hydro type irrigation sounds pretty interesting. I surely will be checking out the SIP Club for some ideas though!

Sorry @Wrecked11, maybe I Wasn't precise on my reply to you. Indeed, I have issues with roots in the drain as well. By the look on this picture you can see that the roots are taking all available space inside the root chamber. The best indicator for roots clogging my drain Ist the Nute tank Level, as the level drops quickly in such cases. Many times I can handle with spraying as much nute solution as the plants can take up. But generally, I need to clear the drain by hand. That's why my root chamber is made of a box with an easy to open lid. Cheers mate

No problem my latest hurdle is the roots i was hoping you had a miracle answer I've tried alot of things. My latest attempt is a mesh screen with expanded pebbles over the drain hopefully it will be enough to keep them out if not back to the drawing board
