TO SEE ONE OF THE NEWEST LIGHTS FROM VIPRASPECTRA
LIGHT MY LIFE
AS WE GROW SOME SWEET WEED!

I'm happy to tell you all that there's a new light in town! A well done ViparSpectra KS5000! What a beauty! First I want to give thanks to ViparSpectra for picking me to show their new light! Valerie has been a dear with many helpful talks out back! Thanks Valerie, see you around!

Let's get to the light!
It came yesterday boxed so well that I cut the tape on one edge and opened it, then slid the box up and the light stood up on it's own like nobody's business! A very easy to do unpacking! It comes folded in half.

Everything needed to hang the light is in there and I got it up in minutes!
It took me a minute but I found the perfect place for the power supply/ballast that can be in or out of the tent depending on tent temp. I'm keeping it in for this run.
It has a handy way of hanging! I snapped two regular light hangers on it and gave it a hang on the side.
I like the detented light level changing knob! It clicks to each level of power of which I will tell you about in more detail later!

Today I'm just unboxing and hanging, and planting the new garden. I'll go on about all the details I have on the light in the near future posts! There's a ton of great information! I'm buzzed to start to get to know it, and Ms Valerie as we go along! @ViparSpectra Rocks!

On to the genetics!
All @Herbies Seeds genetics! I put 1 each of the following into wet paper towels and into ziploc bags and onto the cable box for probably 2 days. I'll check after 1.
I'll be using cloth pots, probably 10 gallons final. Solo to 1, to maybe 3 or just to the ten.

And we're off! I'm so happy to be growing with this new light! Right off the bat it's saving me 23% in electricity compared with the light I took down that ran at 650 watts! It's important! More soon!
Woohoo Vipar Val rocks again. :yahoo:
Congrats on the new @ViparSpectra :woohoo:
Fantastic light, one of the best going right now.
Big things to come.
Yeaaaaaa.:cheer:
Take care my friend.

Hey Otter, this is exciting news. Congrats on the light! I'm ridiculously jealous of the BB #3. I'm looking forward to learning a thing or three :goodluck:
Thanks Carmen! I am too! I've been growing a lot of really nice and exotic to me genetics, and growing a blueberry will be a throwback in time. I grew a whole tent of BB auto's once before I came to 420Mag and that's the last mostly BB one since. We love BB!
Highya SO,

Congratulations on your big new light! She's a beauty!! New choices look very nice! Will be a fun grow to watch!! Happy Smokin'
Thanks Bode! Something new and more modern if you can believe it. It actually is! I'll show you how I'm thinking in posts to come!

TALK ABOUT THE VIPRASPECTRA KS5000 A LITTLE WILL YA OTTER ? UPDATE

Hi all, a little information about this light. @ViparSpectra has employed an engineering improvement that my last light of only a few years of age doesn't have! That is two fold. One is the light bars. That to me is THE WAY TO GO. Heat goes up and out of my tent much easier with this config! The other is the way they actually place the light emitting diodes, LED's, on them. As you look at the bars and come to the ends you can see the LED's are bunched up there rather than in all the middle. That makes for a nice corner coverage of light. That means more solid bud out of a grow to me. Those two things along with quality diodes which I'm told these are, make for a fine light if you ask me!
Why?
Well because with these improvements I'm betting my grow will do as good or better than its predecessor running at 650 watts! That's a ton of saving, 23% if my math is right. With my electric bill up as it is, this is a welcome thought! Let's watch it happen!
Here's that light bar with the LED chips placed strategically in order to make proper light distribution.
More tomorrow.
Hoping for a great day!

HI TRA! It's the Manual in one pocket and happiness in the other! BTW there really is a manual with so much pertinent information in it. First one of the lights I have. Love your bag!

SURPRISINGLY FAST TAIL MAKING UPDATE

Hi, so this run and the last one I skipped the water soak before the paper towel rest to crack seeds. I'm finding they crack and go like crazy anyway! Today I checked on them after a day and a half and they have longer tails than I'm comfortable with really and I wish I'd looked in yesterday like I planned!

Tell me how you get them in the hole when a tail is an inch long please? Do you make a hole an inch and a half deep and get it down there somehow or do you lay it down or what? I'm pretty sure I like em best when they just crack and I get them in the hole!
I didn't forget to mico it this time ;) .
The next gen.

Make a divot with your finger. Make it wet. Mycorrhizae it. Now take the point of a skewer and in the middle of the divot make a “hole within a hole.” Now drop the seed in the divot and manipulate the tail to go into the second hole. The seed coat at the top should stop it at the level of the divot. Cover. Wet. I do it like this almost every time. I believe a longer tail upon starting only helps the plant get acclimated more quickly.

Stone, that last tap root pic is pornographic! 👀

Ok, that sounds solid Jon. I think I just needed a plan to change the

rut I work in. Flexibility is where it's at! Thanks!
Stone what u setting height of the light to bro.
It's about a foot from soil Dust and on second power. It's hitting around 250 PAR

I KNOW! That's one reason I hate to let them go that far. They already have become intimate with the paper towel at that point! I had to look the other way to pull it out but I could feel its grip on the tap! Shivers!

AND NOW THE REST OF THE STORY UPDATE

Hi, now I have them safely tucked away in their stable setting with some heat below and some moisture and a fan going on. I feel like I'm doing something!
We are growing cannabis here folks, and in a beautiful new config!
Here's how it fell together a minute ago.

That's it for today. All this plus we put the Christmas tree up today! All those memories! It's a great day! I hope yours is a super one as well! :peacetwo:💕

You keep the light quite close, does it matter as long as the PAR app gives the right DLI? Just keen to learn for my next upcoming attempt.

I've had it much further away just ensuring the DLI is correct for each stage during my current attempt and wondering if there's downsides to that approach :)
