Hello :420:

Well this grow will definitely be testing new waters for me. Any advice/help/comments will be greatly appreciated. This will be my first Scrog, and my first time using Coco with all new strains so bear with me.

Strains

1x Feminized Green House Seeds - Super Lemon Haze
Green House Seeds Super Lemon Haze has won the 2008 High Times Cannabis Cup with a landslide of votes. Its incredibly intense lemony flavour, with a strong haze background has a sharp and intense taste, which reminds of lemon, lime and pink grapefruit, followed by a very earthy and musky haze aftertaste, with traces of incense and black pepper. The effect is very balanced; it starts with a quick indica-hit feeling that softly moves to a very strong high, with a social and creative side. The Super Lemon Haze is a very smooth compromise between the great qualities of its parents. It's cannabis seeds has 9-10 weeks flowering time, and a very typical Christmas tree shape. Plants tend to grow quite tall, but the internodes are not too far apart, and allow easy topping. The leaves are very sativa-like, while bud formation comes dense and has a high calyx-to-leaf ratio. The Super Lemon Haze is very effective both indoors and outdoors, and responds very well to high-EC hydro systems as well as organic soil setups. When cultivated in soil, the spectrum of terpens is more developed and gives an extra lemony flavour. The THC is high at over 22%, ensuring a very psychedelic experience to even the most experienced smokers.
Effect: A very lemony haze, works fast and lasts long. It's a very powerful high, very balanced between a physical and a cerebral side.
Flowering outdoor: finishes end October in northern hemisphere, production up to 1000 gr/plant.

1x Feminized CH9 Critical Mass 33
Critical Mass (Mr Nice Shantibaba) X Jack 33

Very nice plant metabolism and structure, very frosty and dense buds, with a sharp flavor, we used our jack33 to feminise it, dominant traits will be leaning towards the Critical mass.

A reworked excellent version of an old breed once known as Big Bud. This is an absolute must for the cultivator who demands a high yield with an equally high stone. It is the heaviest plant currently in production for commercial farmers and outdoor crops, resembling the male genital protrusion of a giant donkey. Due to its heavy flower construction it can be susceptible to mould if the growing area is too high with humidity. So be warned, harvest on time!!! It has a genetic pedigree originating from a particularly heavy Afghani combined with the original Skunk#1. An expected yield indoors would be realistic at 650-750 grams per square meter... possibly more for the experienced cultivators? If you cultivate outdoors then expect to harvest in September for the northern hemisphere and by March for those in the southern hemisphere. Breed by the original breeder and founder of the original Seed Bank.

Can be grown outdoor & indoor
Flowering time: 7-8 weeks
Indoor yield: Up to 120 gr indoor with 25-35 days of veg
Outdoor yield: Average of 400 gr outdoor or more depend on vegetative time and season, up to 600 gr
Lineage: Critical Mass x Jack33
Bouquet: Strong, peppery, rich and intense aroma
Type: Indica/Sativa

2x Reg DNA LA Confidential
DNA Genetics LA Confidential Feminized cannabis seeds are great for medicinal use as they relieve pain and help insomnia. For the everyday user, the high of this herb is psychedelic and energetic, with a hammer. The LA Confidential is a heavy eater. There are two real phenotypes of the Confidential and they will both finish in 45-56 days. One is a bit more hardy, but both equal in knock down drag out stone. Preveging is advised to maximise the yield. Thinning the large fan leaves in the later part of the flower cycle will promote more light getting to the lower buds, thus increasing your yield. With an incredible smell and unique flavour, DNA Genetics LA Confidential Feminized is one of our most prized plants and delivers one of the highest highs.

Nutrients

I'll be utilizing Blue Planet Nutrients along with occasional EWC teas & foliars

The 4 beans sprouted on March 3rd. These are all freebies. Today I fed them 2ml of Thrive Alive A & B. They are planted in Promix HP and will be my bonsai mothers. However the 2 LA Con's are Reg's and the CH9 critical mass has lots of reviews of it turning hermie. So I'm planning on doing a little test batch while the Scrog plants are vegging.

There are three reasons for the test batch
- Determine sex of 2 LA Confidentials
- See if critical mass 33 hermies
- Provide me with a little smoke

Once the 4 bonsai moms are established, I will take cuttings and flower them in 2L right out of the cloner under 150w HPS & CFL's. The results will determine what 2 plants I use for the Scrog.

The Scrog screen is 3' x 4' and sits a little higher then a foot above the 5 gallon Aurora root pots

Here is where the plants will spend their future soaking up the sun

Welcome aboard. I have a couple of questions/comments.

1. Nice SCROG screen. Your area looks nice and clean. I don't see any Flowering light but you said they'll spend their time soaking up the sun. Are they in some sort of Greenhouse? What will you be flowering under?

2. I noticed you'll be using BPN. I use them and love the products. I hope they knock it out of the park for you.

3. I noticed that your SLH has a flowering time of 10 weeks while your Critical Mass and LAC are set to finish in 7-8 weeks. Do you have a specific plan for placing them in the scrog screen so that you'll know who's who when it's time to chop the early finishers? Just something to think about if you're going to SCROG them all together at the same time.

4. I'm excited to see how the Critical Mass produces.

May all your buds be dense my friend.

It is an honor to have you be a part of this adventure. I love your journal's, as a matter of fact I have 2 Snow white beans on the way with my march attitude promo order.

To answer your questions

1. Yes it is an old 6x8 shed, I replaced the roof with greenhouse film. I also have a 2'x4'x5' tent on the opposite side of the shed.

2. I hope I can do them justice ! I switched to them halfway through my last grow but it will be nice to finally try them from the get go.

3. Thanks for pointing that out I hadn't really thought of that. I'm now thinking I will use the Critical mass and the LA C. for the Scrog. That is if I get a female LA C. If not I will pop another 7-8 week strain. I can run the SLH next to the screen in a 7 gallon Aurora root pot or I might give my DWC bucket a try.

4. I agree, I was kind of disappointed by all the hermie reviews I read but I also saw some people that said they were stellar plants. I like the description so It's worth a shot in my book.

Also I have a quick question if you wouldn't mind giving some advice. How would you go about training the 2 plants for the Scrog to fit the 3'x4' screen? I was thinking somewhere along the lines of topping at 5th node and LST'ing the tops? Would FIM be better for Scrog?

Nice set up man can't wait to see how things turn out. I'm also SCROGing 2 white widows with blueplanetnutrients and a 400w HPS. Feel free to check it out and get any ideas even though it looks as if you have done plenty of research :)

:thankyou: and welcome aboard ! The more the merrier.

Very cool, I will definitely check it out. We have similar set ups so it will be helpful to know what to expect.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad you enjoy my journals.

I'd top them at the 5th or 6th node and then then train the tops along the underside of the screen, I'd run them along the bottom of the screen and position the tops where needed by attaching them to the screen using pipe cleaners which can be easily removed. Veg them until the screen is 65% of the way full and then flip the lights to 12/12. After you flip the lights, continue to train them along the screen for another 14-16 days and then let them go vertical. Every strain stretches a bit differently but a good rule of thumb is assuming that the majority of the stretch will be over by day 21 of 12/12. You'll end up with 4-7 inch tops(fat nugs) above your screen.

I wish you the best. I'll be watching.

:thumb:

Thank you, I appreciate the helpful info. Now the only slight problem is that since I'm outdoors I don't really have control of the flip. I've been looking at the sunrise/sunset times to try to time it the best I can but that only gives me a general idea of when they will start flowering. I had an idea to supplement with 2-3 cfls overhead from 4am-6am, 4pm-6pm. I am hoping that the 14hrs will ensure my plants will stay vegging because my mom's are under 24hr and I'm worried they will prematurely flower even though it's still time to Veg outdoors. I'm also hoping that I will be able to have a little control of the flip by turning the cfls off to manually induce flowering once the daytime starts decreasing. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

What are some risks of flipping late? I know mold is a given without proper circulation but what other problems will I run into.

Alright everyone I came across something quite interesting today so I thought I would share it and see if anyone has encountered something similar.

I was checking in on them today when I noticed that the Super Lemon Haze has a node protruding from the cotyledon. I though that was pretty strange, then I examined the other side and there is no node to be found. Has anyone seen this before and is it normal or do I have a mutant?

Kind of hard to see but here are the pics

Just got done mixing the Coco and brewing an EWC tea. I will water the coco with the tea tomorrow when it is done brewing and let it cook until clones are ready. I decided to cut the coco with a few amendments.

Here is the Coco Mix

- 2 CF Royal Gold Tupur (Contains: Coco, Humboldt forest humus, oyster shell, perlite, silica)
- Few extra cups of perlite
- Mycorrhizal Fungi
- 2 1/2 Cups Worm Castings
- 1 1/4 Cup Gypsum
- 3/4 Cup Azomite

Seedlings are still recovering from Topping, I'll have another update in 3-4 days

Update: 3/26/2012

Well it's been longer then 3-4 days but not much has been going on! The SLH, C. Mass, & 2 LA Cons are still recovering from what I believe is nute burn and their topping. They were looking a little hungry and I think I overdid the nutes a little. Live and learn

On another note we have 3 new seedlings joining the crew! :cheertwo:
They broke ground two days ago on the 24th, and were transplanted today

1x Feminized Nirvana Snow White

Nirvana Seeds Snow White is one of the highest quality white family selections, the fat pure indica father gives Snow White a denser statue than its close relative - White Widow. Snow White offers a big yield with dense sticky buds covered in trichromes. Snow white is well suited for hydroponics, with a smooth taste and a powerful indica stone it makes Snow White a nice Widow variation. It is suitable for indoor growing, its plant height grows to medium height. Snow Whites cannabis seeds take 8-10 weeks to flower and its THC is strong between 15-20%. Harvest outdoors is October.

1x Feminized Cali Connection Buddha Tahoe OG

She is a selected Pure Tahoe OG.

This pheno takes you to enlightenment which will have you soaring for hours. She is very immediate once you inhale bam she sends you to the clouds, she will be great for indoor growing and suitable for outdoor growing just watch out for mold at the later part of the season due to its resin content...

Flowertime - 60-65 days
Yield is approx 500-600 grams m2

2012-03-26_13_54_31.jpg

1x Regular TGA Vortex

TGA Subcool Seeds Vortex: My oldest head stash crossed with my new favourite., Apollo 13 X Space Queen. Both parents have a similar pungent, rotten fruit, baby poo smell. Both carry heavy potency and copious amounts of resins. The resulting Hybrid cross fulfills my desire to have Apollo-13 in seed form even before we continue with the cubing. Vortex cannabis seeds grow short to medium in height with wide bushing and loads of bud sites perfect for SGROG. Vortex produces a medium yield. Vortex cannabis seeds can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors, she matures very fast. The best way to grow Vortex is wide sagging bush with hundreds of bud sites. Lots of stakes and string. her cannabis seeds flower between 50-55 days.
Sharing traits of both mom and dad some females lean so much towards Apollo even Mz Jill can't tell the difference in a blind taste. My favorite female is a sweet and sour girl that to me tasted like Sour Patch candy but I yielded close to 4 ounces with minimum training. She is easier to grow and trim than mom. Vortex high is -heart racing, energizing, confusing, stoned, ripped curled under, stupidity and smells like Mango Snapple with lemon/ Taste like sweetened lemonade.

Hopefully we can get this journal more active, It will be a while before we have buds forming since the grow is outdoors and we have a few months of Veg to do still. I know people only look for bud porn but I'd like to have a nice little community in this journal like the others I'm subscribed to. If you have questions, comments, or anything I encourage you to not hold back. You are all more then Welcome
:Namaste:

Welcome Soldier,

Gen. Astonr420 here to let you know that your journal is now being added to the BPN Army Blog.

ADVICE:
You should never mix BPN with anything else, it is well formulated to work on it's own without any outside help if you will...
Your fan, clean that up soldier, I see dust. Never a god thing, should always keep a grow room as clean as possible.

Again that was just some advice, feel free to tell me to F off... LOL.

So are all of the babies going to be set for outdoors? or just the last set of pops?

I totally understand what you mean about everyone looking for Bud Porn, although that is one of the perks of the plant, it must crawl before it can walk. To make the best flowers, we have to veg our babies the best we can. Vegging is my favorite part of growing, to imagine where the bud sites will form, or how your going to bend it to allow more light in the middle for more terminal buds (Colas). Next is Harvest, I love to see the fruits of the labor. and then Flowering, I say this because you watch out for your babies to the max in this phase. "Is that Powder Mold?" or "That better not be bud mold!" and the one I don't like the most "SHIT! Spider Mites!"

Can't wait to see your progress brotha, you are going to love that BPN, made me throw everything else I had away.

:welcome: Astonr

Thanks for adding me to the army blog. First off, I would never tell anyone on here to F off. This is a place I come to learn and improve from all these wonderful people and their helpful information.

As for the BPN, I am only mixing the BPN micro along with the dyna-gro for the mother plants in my bathroom because I can't have the smell from the organics in my house.

When I flower I will be using only BPN and aerated teas because I'm aiming to be as organic as possible

The fan will be clean as a whistle next time you see it :)

I hope to flower as many of them as possible outdoor, however the 2 LA Cons and Vortex are Regs so I will flower some clones off of them asap under a 150w hps in my tent.

I agree, veg is fun for me as well. I really like to low stress train and it amazes me how it works.

Mini Update: 3/27/12

Okay from now on to make it easier on everyone else including myself I will be referring to the plants as a Group A and Group B

Group A: Started on 3/1/12
-1x Fem SLH
-1x Fem Critical
-2x Reg LA Con

Group B: Started on 3/24/12
-1x Fem Snow White
-1x Fem B. Tahoe OG
-1x Vortex

Group A's pots were getting light today so I gave them a watering. Still giving them plain water and the new growth looks like it is improving.

The Super Lemon Haze has already developed a super strong sweet skunk odor when I place the leaves up to my nose. Smells at least 2-3x stronger then the critical mass & 2 LA Con's.

The LA Con's smell is hard to describe, kind of musty, a little like some bubba kush I had last week

The Critical mass's smell is the weakest, just smells like some green leaf, it is the fastest grower so far but the nodes are spaced the furthest apart as well. It also droops like crazy almost instantly after watering

Instead of using 2L's for inside the tent, I have gone with 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 6" square containers. I would say they are around 1.3 - 1.5 Liters
