Boss's Poor Mans Grow

Hey man, for the record, I used to make big bucks. Did the corporate thing, 80 hour weeks for 15 years. When I got sick, it happened to be 6 months after I had just changed jobs, so after 6 months, insurance and disability ran out. I applied for government SSDI, and got turned down, applied again, and I am still waiting on an answer. They will approve me, but now they owe me 2 years of back pay and 1800 a month. I had no idea that you always get turned down the first time, and that you really need a lawyer to win. I lost my house, a car, my credit, almost my wife and family, because the system is so abused by deadbeats. anyway, blah blah blah, it will all be ok in the end, as Moose might say, "No Worries Mate!"

I just noticed something that may help... Could you maybe Macgyver some sort of reflector for your CFLS'?
It would help focus the otherwise wasted light onto your plants.

Oh and I know what you mean. I hear stories like yours all the time. It sucks when things like this happen to good people. Only because deadbeats don't like to take responsibility for themselves. Well I wish you well through all this mess. I am sure it will work out in the end.

I just went and looked at the reflectors. The only problem is I can only fit one bulb in each, which means double the wires, and lord knows I have enough of those :cheesygrinsmiley:

What I think I will do is bend some sheet metal, or make somthing from wood and coat it. My main idea here is to spend as little on this as possible, even though I could spend more. I went all over looking for a PH tester, and found nothing. So, I will have to order that over the internet.

I did pickup some more full spectrum 100 watt CFL's, and some no nute potting soil to mix with sand for the babies that just hatched. Oh and some folier spray!

Regular potting soil with no nutes and a bag of 3 month nute no name.

Man, my daughter is up already...
:-)

Like I said, I re-arranged everything, and I am ready to go 12/12 lighting. I am trying to figure out the light timer, and still have the fire safety cord setup correctly, so I still need a timer. No worries.

these plants look great even without nutes. I've walked into a grow room that held 3 ft. baseball bat colas and had been fed not one nutrient, Fox Farm soil and PH adjusted water.

Actually, they have been fed seedling 4-5-4 and Plant-tone 5-3-3 organic with all kinds of minerals I may have been missing.

All I have for flowering is a 12-18-6 that i may not use. I'm really wanting to break the budget and get some tiger bloom and one other I saw here on the boards.

Thank you for all the support :-)

Epsom salts. Many bloom formulas are derived from magnesium sulfate. Epsom salts is magnesium sulfate. Seems to really help keep the leaf green during the flower period and its easy to get and so freakin cheap that it won't break your budget. I got best results just using it as a supplament in conjunction with my fertilizer. 1 table spoon per gallon is considered half strengh and will not burn plants. I never felt a need to go higher.
Can also be used to supplement the veg phase too but you still need a vegging fert.

Going 12/12 tomorrow.

Because of the 5'5" hight limit, and all the new girls are hatching, it's time.

I really don't know exactly how far along I am, but around 40 days.

Here is the re-arranged room and new lights.

Oh, the carbon filter is not working good enough, I need more carbon, so that's tonights plan. Wife went down there and said she can smell it at the stairs. HINT: When a woman tells you she smells somthing, 99% of the time, she is right. (The gas company man told me this, and since my wife called them, he knew there was a leak somewhere)
So if you need odor advice, ask a woman,.,,
