Yes first time using them, I usually have to fill the res once every 2 weeks or so. Saves a bunch of time.

I bought one of those autopot systems for an outdoor grow this summer so I don't have to tend to the girls daily ...do you feel the air stones are necessary in your reserve ..? Are they recommended ?
I haven't even unboxed them yet ..
So glad I found your journal ..plants look amazing

I had one of the floats stick open in a pot and water kept trying to fill the pot. I guess it was gunked up with left overs from the nutes. So lost about 15 litres on the floor before I caught it needless to say I ended up buying a 4x4 plastic tray for the tent. I would recommend cleaning the floats every 2 weeks or so.

That’s one of my fears for when I switch to DWC :nervous-guy:I was thinking of using an aquarium automatic top-off or a secondary float that's higher up to shut the flow off to the first one.

Some people put airdomes in the pots at the bottom then hydroton on top of that. I figured if I put bubble stones in the res it would keep the nutes mixed up...so no settling. It's also adds oxygen to the water. Does it help, lol I'm not sure. If anyone ever plans on autopots inside I suggest spending the money and buy a tray to fit your tent. If it happens to leak you can protect the floor underneath.

If you clean the floats once a month it shouldn't ever leak. Advanced nutes seemed to have alot of build up. I just changed my res and I'm using mega crop there was nothing in the bottom or built up on the res. Just a quick rinse and fill.

I have a saltwater aquarium so I'm big time paranoid of float valves and salt creep:nervous-guy:
Do you have any tanks running right now? If you do, what do you have?
ive never got into saltwater fish, but I had 5 freshwater tanks going at once At one time. They’re all shut down though, sitting in storage.

I don’t have much going right now, after salt creeped into my coral light and destroyed it I got rid of my corals and starfish. Now I just have a mated pair of Picasso clownfish and invertebrates.

My buddy has a huge salt water tank and it's a job in itself just taking care of it.

Yeah it takes a lot of work and money so that’s why I downsized for now.

Very cool to have a mated pair. The wife and I bred convict cichlids, guppies (but I mean, a monkey can breed guppies),Pimelodus pictus, we attempted frontosas, but didn’t invest enough time into it, so we got ride of the six we had and bought 6 baby snakeheads instead. we were super close at breeding a pair of snakeheads but was forced to downsize their tank to less then half of what they had. The female ended up descaling the male and ultimately killing him. It would have been nice to keep them in the 120 gal, but couldn’t. That’s when we shut our last tank down.
