silly question : your germination procedure ?

I have definitely had my fair share of issue’s.

Issue for me is if they don’t just grow.

Sprouting seeds can be very simple to very aggravating.

I like using paper towel in a ziplock hanging my bag vertical just so that I can see them crack then transferring to medium.

This can be an issue for some as the seed becomes very delicate to handle.

So lately I have just been using an oasis cube. Root riot I think is one brand.

These cubes come with a hole about 3/4 inch deep , I would pick at it a bit backfilling it so that it’s 3/8 deep.

These cubes will hold excess amount of water and seedlings root will just hang out if you keep it too wet , so soak it.
Then shake it a bit , shake a lot and you could almost empty it.

Toss my seed in hole (on its side) and cover. Then 24hrs later I might peek , if it’s on . No more peeking as it will show quickly.

I would put a dome on my tray until they emerge.

If seeds are older I would consider scuffing a bit with emery paper.

As last resort I have cracked some with needle nose visegrips.

Some in this run were that way.

Good morning.

Hope everyone has had a great holiday weekend.

x’s are doing well. I have been waiting on some branches to develop while others just keep bulking.

Tied the bigger pair down again for the last time , it’s just up from here.

If the two others were as spread with branches I probably would have started 12’s.

But wanting these smaller ones to branch out I will instead try a slow transition into flower while the pieces of this puzzle come together.

This will be the third night of 17-7, will adjust an hour every 3 days until 12-12 then possibly even going a bit shorter.

So at this time these ladies Veg on.

Well definitely this Hygroben is the chit.

I also run in my rdwc system and it’s Snow White under the waterline.

So moving along with rdwc , the lighting changes an hour every 4 days.

I am now on 3rd day of 16-8 , starting to bush up.

How long do you typically veg?

July the 8-9th x broke ground.

First day of flower will be in 6 more days after I have run first 14 hour day.

So 70 days from putting seed in medium.


Strawberry banana, rooted clones enter system veg for 32 days to an 8 mainline then turn.


Mix of chocolate diesel and strawberry diesel from seed , few bumps along the way but just under 60 days.

I have grown pot for quite some time.
Being in my mid 50’s I have seen a few things done a few things.

Like root rot, when I was dabbled my first dwc buckets 32 years ago it was white buckets, food and water.

Ph what?
Root rot, what’s that?

Mix it up and turn the 400 watt mh, hps in the 3x3 sloping roof under the stairs setup.

To this day have a buddy that likes to reminisce of those times.

Now come full circle and its dissection in science class.

As I mentioned in an earlier post I have been gradually turning xs into flower as nature does.

Crop steering. Today is day 3 of 15-9.

So today and tomorrow then it’s 14-10 (first day of flower).

I have watched another persons grows for sometime and this is the approach used.

There is some literature , added brackets

So at this time i am 375ppfd at the tips.
Ec .984 this has risen the last two days .009.
Ph 5.8 , this doesn’t change when your ec is on.( and everything else is good)

The little black pipe is the return draw from the middle at the tail end of loop.

On the other side of fan there are also lines.
One is a drain the other a feed line for my agitation.

Now we exit the tent and I have a steel shelf with my reservoir and chiller. Drain hose.

There are a few things going on out here.

Behind tote is 550gph pump drawing from the back water falling into tote.

In the reservoir there is a wort coil to chill the water.
And a 400 gph pump using the Venturi to bubble.
Behind tote is one more 400 pump that is my drain pump which is now a dual purpose and used agitate the surface with 4 sprays in each.
It just so happens 2 hit the pots.

At this time I also run an air stone in each pot , but this is not needed and a bit overkill.

I use an inkbird to run the chiller , an inkbird for my heat if need be.

Have a panel on rack and my driver hanging back there with some controls and such.

That’s about it.

It does look that way and hope to get close to the edges.

Watching there progress I see some of the side branches outperforming the main branches.

There distance to the light obviously is shorter, so for now I will let it grow.

Going to adjust my ties a bit to spread just a tad more.

Mixed sts up a year ago April .

It’s been refrigerated in a black bag and looks to me like it’s worked it’s magic.

Stability was thrown out the window.

Ec drops 75 and ph up .4

Yes this is a good thing.
24ml of each base , grow and bloom brings the ec back up and 50 more (1030) and brought the ph closer to 6.

Water is down 7 gallons the past 3 days, so will top that up once I feel comfortable the ec is in right place and adjust ph to 6.
