I saw this on one of my flowering plants, it looks male but in the exact same spot on the back of the same branch is a calyx with a pistil sticking out.

My fan leaves on my mother plant vs one of its clones.

Interesting to see such a difference. Same hand for reference.

Off to a healthy start!
Thanks Pennywise! I had some free time to read through some of your journals, and boy am I inspired to keep my SOG top of the line

Update: day 9 of SOG
Girls are springing up quite nicely, nearly the same height as the rest of the canopy.
However a couple are lagging behind.

There’s a lot of trichomes starting to grow on this little girl.

A clone that I am growing out as a mother, is currently in a 2 gallon smart pot. It has huge fan leaves and looks like it’s next set are going to be just as big.

I don’t know if this is considered a phenotype change from the original mother. If someone with more experience would care to explain a possible reason, I would like to hear it.

Mothers loved giving me some babies so they grew me more.
I feel like the canopy is too thick, I get a lot of lower growth with long spaces between nodes.

Do you think I should trim some of the fan leaves?
Same question for my little girl who I recently switched to flower.

Looking forward to your input.

Offspring can vary quite a bit actually.
It’s so cool, I just thought they would grow all the same.
Is this what’s considered different pheno, or is it just genetic variation

Plants all looking healthy and happy Macdaddy!

They do look very bushy, i'd say remove a couple leaves here and there over a couple days not to stress her out! :ganjamon: But yes i do think she will benefit from minor trimming.

Thanks buddy

I’ll give that a try, I trimmed off some of the fan leaves blocking nodes on my flowering girl. Will take it slow with the mothers.

So if I find a plant that has good qualities, I would want to keep as a mother that’s a good pheno?
Yes if you have a cutting from a special plant you can grow it from clone.

I need to keep my hands away from this girl, fighting temptation for the first is way harder than I thought it would be.
The first ones always the hardest! Being patient with this plant is important though - the flowers stack on a large amount of weight and potency during their last 2 weeks of flower - and you’ve still got some good time to go ;):passitleft:

The flower tent is looking fuller day after day, I need to get my next run of clones in their cups, just waiting for more root development!

There are about 2-3 weeks left on this girl so she got her final feed today.

This girl is looking good after topping all her central tops.

My clone mother is definitely a keeper, big fan leaves and quick growth.
