Seedling...good day bud!
Yes...for fan filter combo i HIGHLY recomend you purchase a Can#33 filter w/ a flange for a 6 inch fan.....i run an Ostberg.
Those 4 inch ones are just too small for larger areas and its best to run that combo between 70 and 85% of max. as to prolong the life of not only the fan, but the filter as well.
Make sure to get a speed controller too...they are cheap at around 20 to 30 dollars.
I have lots to say about this aspect of our growing.cheers
Good stuff....I hate too many choices. I can go for that Can 33 filter, 6" flange and see about a refurbished 6" fan...along with a speed controller of course. I'm gonna put off switching from tent to room until the next cycle is close to flower. I don't want to put too much pressure on it and I want to make sure everything gets done right and not just quick.
I also borrowed the Delorean to gather a bunch of your thoughts on foliars. Hope you don't mind.
Foliars
"The reason we like to wait to foliar until it's "in between" drinks is just to spread out a good thing ,know what i mean...Giving the microbes a 'treat' via the foliars /thru the roots in between drinks helps keep the soil fired up and alive."
"Keep in mind that foliar spraying should be concentrated on the undersides of leaves if at all possible and to only spray every 7 to 10 days as too much can , and will stress the roots."
"We all have to remember that foliars feed the heard thru root exudes...and if those foliars are too strong or too often ...the roots can simply not handle it and so we see that in things above the soil looking crappy."
"With our system we use , which is Doc Bud's High Brix Blend it incorporates different foliar sprays to mainly feed the soil biotta thru root exudes. Our two main foliar sprays are DeStress and Brix. They are to be used every week to ten days with the DeStress being used for just that...any time stress is noticed..ie , during LST or transplanting."
"spray all foliars when the leaf 'stomatta' are open, otherwise your kind of wasting it. Stomata are open about an hour after lights 'on'. Why would you spray during lights off?"
"A tip when spraying the foliars. If you dont wanna get on your knees and spray from bottom up ...to get the undersides ...just use one hand to lift up and then spray. Some gets all over your hand and arm but it's how i do it"
"when i mist the foliars i simply wait til the lights have been on for about an hour,..the stomata are open then,..i spray , over , done. I don't have to turn the lights on , or off , just wait an hour before spraying. Cheers."
"Spray the foliars one hr. after the lights come on. The stomatta on the leaf surface needs time to open as they have mostly bin closed during night time hrs. You may hear different opinions about this but i did my research and am happy with the results i get doing it this way. Adjust your spray bottle to only spray a fine mist, concentrate on the under sides of the leaves. Only a light misting , do not soak them."
"Ya....when spraying the foliars ...only lightly mist the plant...any drops remaining...just give the plant a quick shake to get all the excess off the top of the leaves. The drops stay there and amplify the light causing that burning u describe."
"Sprays should be done sometime when lites are ON...and not about to go off...more risk of mold that way. I always spray mine sometime during the first 2-4 hours of lites "ON". This way the leaves are ready for it(stomata is open) and there is no risk of mold with all that extra moisture in the room with the lites off! Spraying right before lites off...especially deep into bloom will "invite" mold , for sure. Cheers "
