Blue Mystic Autos + LEDs + Bubbles

The Bloom - Week 5 (11 weeks overall)

Seems like the finish line should be just 3 mile ahead, 3 miles ago. It's getting more crowded in the tent almost exponentially it seems every few days. I've been shifting the PG 180 a few inches left... a few inches to the right, angle forward.. back.. every few hours as time permits, essentially making myself a human light mover. Wire ties and branch bending as well to allow more light beneath the canopy.

The bloom, on the biggest plant "Top-Left", is a bit behind where I hoped to be in terms of mass. But I've read that some Blue Mystics wait till the final days to thicken up (I hope), and what she is exhibiting looks and smells exceptional.

The sativa-ish looking duo are definitely a week or two behind the other 3, but they make for more interesting plants. The Calyxes on Low-Right are HUGE, and instead of showing 2 hairs, sometimes there are several per calyx. This one has the sweetest berry-fruity scent and even her main stem is covered in trichomes.

Meanwhile within the canopy... infant nuggets battle to stay dense

We also began the girls on StealthHydro's "High-Feed" nutrients last week's reservoir change in addition to a little taste of Beastie Blooms as needed.

All green, no (new) burn, yeah we're happy! Hope you all are too. Be well everyone! :peace:

Good to see someone do a Mystics journal. These seeds are like 3 bucks a piece! I've got a Mystic (non-auto) going in my closet. Still a little baby, sprouted on the 16th. I heard Nirvana pulled the auto Mystics a few months ago because some people said they weren't flowering. Looks like you didn't have a problem. Good to see what these babies look like in bloom.

Welcome Growing247!

To the contrary, these ladies never auto flowered. These seeds were that were re-stocked after the first alleged issue, and were pulled again the following month after I ordered them. So we're pretty certain to have Blue Mystic genes plus who knows what else thrown into the mix.

Their vegetative growth was aggressive, by week 4-6 they had declared all female, but never bloomed. We dropped the light cycle to 13/11 then 12/12 at week 7, by which time they began to bloom. Nirvana gladly credited back and I have a harvest on the horizon, albeit a month behind.

The indica leaning phenos are dense with intense lower branching, pungent floral/fuel/oily aroma. The sativa phenos began bloom a week or so later, have stretched quite a bit and only now are beginning to fill in. Their aroma is much more fruity/berry like.

There were a number of Blue Mystic grows that just finished up, or are about to. They are beautiful plants with very complex aromas. I think you'll be very pleased with your baby!

Sitting there waiting while the bud dries and then cures is probably the hardest part. You're sitting there surrounded by buds and anything you smoke will not be nearly as good as it will be after a good week to ten days of drying and then another probably ten days of curing before it get's to be what it should be in terms of flavor. I know the feeling well. I think in the future if I buy any autos it will be Joint Doctors. He is the guy who brought auto flowers to the forefront. I read an article about him in Skunk Magazine I think it was where he described looking for a strain that could be hidden well in a guerrilla grow type situation. He explored cannabis plants that did not look like Cannabis like Dr. Grinspoon and came upon the Mexican Rudy. He crossed the Ruderalis with Williams Wonder and the rest is history. Now, I have jumped head long into the auto flowering craze. I am attempting to grow a Afghan Kush Ryder and a DNA 60 Day Wonder. We'll see how it goes. I just stuck them into my cloner/seeder on the 20th and nothing so far but a little white rootlet.

And as it usually goes too, there is no other supply of meds available... Doh!

I agree totally, even they will tell you there is no such thing as 100% auto on all their seeds, but as quality, consistency, and now larger sized plants goes, they're the top in the industry.

DinaFem Auto Haze has had very good reviews, I not seen one personally.

I'm very eager to see a Afghan Kush Ryder... (pics, journal... hint, hint! :yummy:)

I'll definitely be throwing my hat back into the auto gene pool. I still have some Jock Horror auto seeds, I believe there were issues with this lot of autos as well, only time may tell.

Looking great endive.... beautiful pictures. Those pistils look burnt orange, nice!

Thanks BlueDog! You may not be too far off either, as several days back, the main fan shut off for a few hours. When I discovered it, the tent temperature was in the high 80's. Only two plants exhibit the orange tips, they are also the most advanced of the group.

I was worried a little, but they all seem to be doing fine. I'm pushing the nutrients up this week into next. :MoreNutes:

Sorry late to the show. And from what Ive read, Id say were lucky to have one. Glad they budded for you, they look great! What color are the trichs? Peace. h

Welcome hemivette!

I was disappointed to say the least when they didn't auto. Not too sure on the full range of genetics we got, but we're still calling them Blue Mystics. We've got a giant, two dwarfs, and two that got consumed by the giant but are doing all right.

Just a few more weeks.... and :rollit:

Week 6 bloom, week 12 from seed...

Little nuggets from Top-Right. She’ll be a low yielder, but the quality looks stellar!

This one plant (Top-Left) takes up about 2/3 of the tent. The other plants, while crowded, are looking good too!
DSC03381-TLnug2cl.jpg

No massive colas, the tops (popsicles) range from 3" to about 7" tall. The narrowest are about as wide as a Bic lighter, the thickest are just smaller than a 8.4 oz Red Bull can. Top-Left and Top-Right are both sporting a majority of hairs red, but trichomes are crystal clear. I'm still holding out for a massive growth boom at zero hour. :)

Yessir. It was only a matter of time before the Auto Haze varieties came about. I would really like to try growing some of that. I bet the yields are good. Spanish breeders have come a long way but I am still a bit wary of them. The one strain I am really wanting to try growing is Iranian Autoflower. I have heard it is not a Ruderalis and can actually be vegged. I want to do some serious testing on this. From here on, I think I will be buying a few auto whenever I buy seeds because by the time regular seeds are done vegging the autos will be done flowering. That little bit of stash should hold me over until I'm ready to harvest the others. I should make a journal on the Afghan Kush. I have a Afghan Kush feminized as well as one that is a feminized autoflower, both from World of Seeds. It will be interesting to compare the two as they mature.

Here is a post (albeit brief) I saw a while back on the IAFs: Iranian autoflower »

Dr. GreenThumb seeds are hard to come by here.

they are lookin wonderful

Thank you avalon13! Rounding the bend and sprinting towards the finish line :yummy:

wow those last two pics are crazy gorgeous!:)
Damn!!!

Thanks j4s2u0, for the top pic, I actually switched off the lights and illuminated from above with incandescent light for contrast. The second is from a badly shot picture, but the close up crop on the tip just seemed to make it work.

And it's hard to take a bad shot of beauty in its simplest form. :tokin:
