Bignstrange's 4x4 800W COB LED Grow Tent - Promix - New Grower - Drop In!

Honestly if my plants turn out like yours I'll be pretty freaking happy! I just think these big leds are a little much for baby plants, I keep thinking back to the manufacturers guidelines for hanging them 2 to 6 feet. The vipar might do a better job for veg in all honesty

Yeah I agree. Plus you've just gained a bunch of flexibility as you perpetual grow. ..

Can't resist peeking in on em. .

Noticed a bit more wavy leaf action so the lights up to 37 now!

With all this debate about topping n such I've decided not to do it today, I definitely don't want to do it too soon! I took pics from a different angle tonight and I'll take more tomorrow and hopefully get some input on when these girls should be ready for that!

For now, nightly update!

Do I have to write 5 seperate vows or can I get away with one for all of them? . . . . .

G'night y'all!

420-magazine-mobile498807764.jpg

I forgot this just before lights out! Pots are getting dry so they might start getting a taste of some real food soon!

Everything looks great Big :) I'd say the seedlings are at a stage in their life now where the more light the better! You want to see those leaves pray towards that light, you're definitely gonna want all those lumens as they go into hard veg mode :circle-of-love: This is all just how I would do it anyways. Either way once you feed you're gonna really want to amp up the light to give the plant power to process those nute's

Thanks for the advice! As long as I don't see any light stress I'll keep the light where it is and let them grow into it, I think 40 inches might be good, but I'll see how they do today and keep an eye out for little hints .

Definitely need an 8ft tent to run these lights :S late flower i might have to attach the lights right to the tent frame unless I can keep em short.

And as I'm typing this my power is flickering on and off :S oh Jeesh

Good morning . .

Good morning . .

I hope the power doesn't go off  and in flower you're gonna find out your babes can handle tons of light. People regularly exceed 1500par at canopy around here, and with high watt HID, that number can be even higher. unless you plan on letting them veg for a few months, you should be fine on height :)

Thank you so much! All these numbers are putting me at ease. I'm certainly the intuitive type but I've grown to love numbers and data so seeing quantifiable measurements soothes me . I'm still newbie, especially when it comes to led where lux counts are thrown out and there's invisible light etc. :S

I'm excited to ride these lights out through the whole cycle on these girls and see how they do! See if they are worthy of going into the next tent I'll be adding . but your definitely right they will take it better once I get some real food in em!

Just having some coffee and then I'll get morning pics :)

Started germinating a new bean this morning! Visited my little seed stash
420-magazine-mobile153138824.jpg

And chose a peppermint kush fem from Barneys farm! I took the weakest looking seed, though all of them were mature and promising looking .

And same germination method as at the start of the journal, into a bag with paper towel in rested tap water with og tea !

420-magazine-mobile1641156307.jpg

Rolled up and popped onto a heat mat with some cardboard just to stop it from getting hotspots in the sandwich bag!
420-magazine-mobile1280012430.jpg

I'll check that in 2 days .

I'm thinking I'm gunna feed them before I take the pup for a hike today, maybe in an hour or so. The promix seems to keep the plants happy wether it dries out completely or not so I've been going for mostly dry and then replenishing water so that the roots always have fresh oxygen! I'll drench them when I feed today, I'll post an update on what the ladies get, and maybe a group shot before I go out!

Cheers everyone !

Good to have you here Kev!

Now if you can just gently guide me towards a harvest like yours we can all be happy . . seriously though great work!

Everyone go check out Kevin's journal and see his amazing first harvest! Really good stuff!

Purple train wreck will have to wait until next year unfortunately :(

Unless someone wants me to test out some lights or something! :3 .

Planning on doing the BC and WW twice and then the peppermint kush I want to mother, clone and sog in the 4x4 2 times! Gunna try to learn these strains before moving on to the next!

Glad to have you here man! Hope I have a girl as beautiful as yours one day . .

Oh right, I just saw you said you chose Peppermint Kush. That sounds good too!

And Wow, thanks man your too kind. I'm very pleased with the way this first grow turned out. Even though I was only able to grow one plant, due to some seed germination failures. But that's ok. Always next run .

Seriously though I appreciate it, I'm sure your grow will turn out just as good, probably better . good luck man

Bignstrange you're lucky to have genetics like that - Wish I could afford to order real beans xD
Peppermint Kush sounds like a winner, I can't wait to see how it goes for you.

I thought it would be worth the extra 10 bucks a seed to make sure I had good genetics,I've grown a bad seed before and it's not worth the soil! I'm hoping it turns out! .

On another note, I fed the girls after coming back from an adventure, I bet some of y'all are gunna grill me on this one-just keep in mind I said I would push this space right at the start of the journal!

Mixed 1 gallon of nutes, fed each plant between 270 and 300 mL. Top dressed 1/4 tsp og tea. Started at 6.1 ph and 57 ppm, after mixing it all we were at 6.2 ph and 550 ppm, I didn't bother with ph down, these girls need some cal mag and it's absorbed better at a higher ph!

2mL micro, 4mL grow, 2mL bloom, 4mL regen, 5mL cal mag, 5 mL grozyme

Now you can all proceed to give me the heat on why I fed so strong n blah blah blah .

Worst that happens is I have a peppermint kush on the way ;P

420-magazine-mobile396022398.jpg

Just before feeding-and I also got shipping confirmation on the light n kit today!

Almost 420! :blunt:.

lol I'm lucky if the seeds I buy cost 10$... that's around my cutoff price I like going the 6-10$ range as there's tons of decent plants in that range from respectable breeders... Plan on making a bean purchase within the next few weeks definitely excited Ive been eyeballing a few strains. Definitely agree with bagseeds and soil aspect lol... my first grow was 4 bagseeds and all were male.. second grow it was a 50/50... not the highest quality but she was an amazing yielder.. I was going to keep cloning her until I realized I can always buy me a good yielder for fairly cheap that doesn't throw nanners late flower lol.

Yea I throw it back to the being in Canada thing, not many cheap, good options so I ended up with an expensive good option just to avoid international shipping! Oh well the seeds I have will last a while anyways!

Lol yea avoid those late nanners for the price of a seed .

That's not that hot. Not sure what week you are on but my week 3 (week one is seedling) schedule with GH is Micro 3.7ml Gro 3.7ml Bloom 2.5ml Silica 1ml CalMag 5ml. or thereabouts. If tips burn adjust accordingly lol. :)

Lol thanks Scoooter!

I guess my oldest is 20 days youngest 18 from seed so almost there! The schedule I'm working off calls for 600 ppm week one of veg then 200 more each week until we hit 1400 by adding massive in during flower then carry that through to flush!

I'm super new to the whole nutes in a bottle thing so I'm just being cautious as a newbie should .

Speaking of which I just went to say hi to them, I expected them to be all droopy from the water but to my surprise they were reaching up to the light! Guess they really do need the nutes to use the light!
