70 bucks for the hps from htg supply, it is an awesome little hps that doesnt get too hot and makes it easier than setting up tons of cfl's. I run two 46 watt cfls for side lighting because those are the biggest you can safely run on a timer.

I've never been told that running more than 46w CFLs is dangerous! I'm running about the same as you, but I have 8x23w CFLs, a 125w CFL, and a 150w HPS all running on a single power strip and single timer....Is it the way they start up that is dangerous? I figure 450 watts is ok for one outlet...?

quix i was thinking the same thing, i have timers all over the house one is running a 1600 watt heater no problem, it sez 15 amp max load the heater is 12.5 and never a problem, and nothing on wattage at all, watts are not the issue generally its the amps that do it!!

its not the amount of lights in the outlet that isnt recomended. I am pretty sure all outlets and surge protectors can safely run whatever grow lights you throw at them. What I was talking about was that running most medium based CFL's over 46w equivalent are not recommended when hooked up to a timer. It has something to do with the way the timer disperses power, my uncle is an electrician and told me that. It's not like you will have a chrenobyl meltdown, i just think its not good for the bulb. I beleive the boxes say not to use with electrical timers as well.

well i just checked my tracking number for my beans and they are in, waiting on spiffy to bring them home tonight after work! gotta say im so pumped i do think a couple will be started tonight!!! and the focus of this journal will be shifting, and or a new journal started, the new camera is nice except it eats batteries like crazy, maybe 20 pics to a new pair! so i think the camera search continues, any ideas on a good inexpensive p&s camera, perhaps i'll save up for a good one,ok heres some new shots of the "poo poo gold" ladies *wink @ siscokid* the frost damage seems to be done and they are looking better,,

so i peeked in the seed jar, and discovered that the 2 purple#1's are both cracked and pushing out a taproot! thats a lil' over 12 hours yippee!!!!! nothing from ww or pm yet

The anticipation of waiting for seeds to pop and the exhileration once they do pop is a feeling I will never get over.

well i have some amazing news!!! my most lovely and amazing gf "spiffy" just ordered a 400 watt hps with dimmable electronic ballast for me so i can finally flower the girls to their maximum potential! i just might be the luckiest mofo on earth!!!! 300 cheers for spiffy!!!!!!!!!! this grow is about to take on a whole new life!! between this and the seeds and nutes im about to pee myself!!!!!! spiffy!!!!!

ok the fix is in! 100% success all 4 are showing signs of life!! the maroc(fem) popped out a taproot last night a lil' less than 24 hours and this morning the ww is cracked open the purple #1 's are at about 1/4 inch taproot, i went ahead and put all 3 purples in coco/pearlite mix,ww(fem) will follow as soon as she has a 1/4 inch root, with getting a 400watt hps do you think it would be safe to germ another 1-2 seeds? or just be patient i am planning on mothers and clones,,hmm i guess i just answered my own question damn i really wanted to play with more of them, but i will breed some for seed oh my this is fun,,,!!! ok im feeling kind of worthless due to the fact that i have spent hour after hour reading here on the 420mag like 8 hours a day!! for the last week or 2 its a blur, i think i need to get some other stuff done!!! so if you notice my presence is less, (doubt it lol) nothing is up,,just me taking care of the real world!! lol i feel like a strung out junkie "doing my 420mag" fix all day!! its "digitalcrackk" i swear!!! lol ok im out for a minute or 4,,,waiting for the seeds to break ground is the worst for me!! i wanna know what im gonna have, i really dont mind if 90% are male cuz i need pollen and males are beautiful too! i know i will have 2 girls for sure fem seeds, im really wanting a male purple #1 so i can breed to ww and maroc moms, hmm "pourple widow" and double purple m" f1's

It's great when your mate participates with your grow, isn't it? My bf does all the electrical stuff for me or has even bought me pots, dirt, nutes, and light. The lights were wrong but the thought was there so I told him leave the growing to me. He checks on them just as much as I do. I think his fave part is when they start giving off an odor. He has been wanting to get me a hps light for the longest and sometimes he feels bad that he can't afford to do it. But I tell him the things he has done has meant a lot to me.

Oh you don't wanna talk about bad relationships. Most of mine have been abusive but he is the first that treats me like a queen. I cook and serve him too but he does most of the cooking, we fight about who is going to cook since we both love to cook.

You make my heart swell my Friend. You give hope to all of us. We're sure not perfect of body, but she saw your big heart and knew you a fine person when she saw one. It gives hope to many on 420. Mate your a fine person in my eyes too!

Bud, my heart gave a skip too, when I heard about the impending blow. Even though it's probably not possible...maybe the seismographic monitors are wrong. I chose to live here, so I will ride it out, whenever it comes. Can't say it's not exciting out here.

Now thats what I am talking about!!! that is kind of the reason my GF let me actually build the grow spot and let me grow!!! although she doesn't really see the medicine behind it all, but sees how it makes me, when in pain or lack of sleep, 100% @$$ hole!!! well i feel im more of an 80% but you med patients know what I mean!!! LOL anyways, when I sleep and awaken refreshed, I am a pleasant person!!! And I feel ya on the "go play your game, I'll fix your plate" mine does the same, but on occasion!!! of course I turn the tables every now and then!!!
