Big Jack's First Grow Ever - Flo-Og - FINI - Znet-9 LED - In Dirt

Re: Big Jack's first grow ever! Flo-Og/FINI, Znet-9 LED, in dirt

I don't see the brown tips. Everything looks good to me. I judge how they are doing by trichs and not by time. I find the recommended times are not always very accurate. I just watch my girls and let them tell me when they are ready. :goodjob:

Okay cool, I'll just wait and post pics along the way. I got a loupe but it's only 30X and I'm not sure it's strong enough.
You can't see the brown because I keep trying to take pictures under LED. I'll try to take it out into the light.

Subscribed.

First grow here, so no authority, but brown hairs or mixed white and tan hairs are very common. I'd do a Google image search on the name or check out photos on the breeder's site. Odds are you will see pre-flowers and flowers that look just like yours :)

Things are looking good. :goodjob:

Welcome. I'll check that out, thanks.

I finally took the vegetables in cups out of the tent even though we don't have our garden ready. They need to toughen up outside anyway. So now I had space to re-pot everything to final pots. I put the 2 OXs and a Flo-OG in 5gal Air Pots. The other Flo-OG I put in a Smartpot as an experiment. Well see if one grows better. Clones would make a more sound experiment but oh well. Final soil is 100% FFOF. the plan is to let them settle for a week and a half and then flip the lights to 12/12. the auto FINIs will have to spend their last few weeks in 12/12. I'm keeping the male in the corner just for morbid curiosity and until I figure where to safely dispose of it.

damn! they are under led only? if so, really eager to see how these flowers form.

a windowsill works good for young plants if the conditions outside are still too harsh. that's where my tomato plants are at right now :thumb:

Funny you say that since I'm considering getting some side lighting but I'm also tempted to run this whole grow like this just to know how the light will do alone. My concern is when they get big the light penetration won't be very good.

I would like to see how an led only grow performs, but don't let that influence your decision. so far most if not all the led grows I've seen people defoliate and ruin their yield. your plants are setup to create big buds, I can tell.

So what's up with these autos? The pistils are turning brown and shriving on some of them. This bud is the worst.

It's a bit tricky to see if there's an issue with those pics. It is perfectly normal for them to turn brown as the buds mature. Going off your time remaining, I've never done an auto but I'd say you are a good 4 or 5 weeks off.

Re: Big Jack's first grow ever! Flo-Og/FINI, Znet-9 LED, in dirt

maybe heat stress?

Re: Big Jack's first grow ever! Flo-Og/FINI, Znet-9 LED, in dirt

no, but if the pistils touched the light this can happen.

Fini autos are starting to fatten up. Frost is coming along but not as fast as I expected. I'm considering getting Cha Ching or some such similar booster. I've been feeding these full strength Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom so maybe they could take something else as well to finish them up.

The transplanted one on the right has almost caught up to the final pot from seed one on the left which is interesting. Though it has a different shape sending out side branches far.

This one is farther along as represented by a little more height and fatter cola
