BID 7.0 LED Test Featuring BudMaster II 675-XG - High Brix CocoGanics

Hi BID,

I know you've stated that the 2 LEDs you're using are different in many ways, not least the wattage, but i know there will be many people reading these journals looking for a simple answer as to which you think does a better job.

Personally, i am looking at either the Budmaster 2, 675w, or the Mars 2, 1200w for a 5x5 grow tent.

The Mars 2 1200w is actually cheaper than the Budmaster, and i can't help thinking that a product like the Budmaster is obviously built in China, so buying it from the UK (even though i live in the UK!) seems a bit of a folly. I don't know how much extra i would be paying for the 'Budmaster' logo on the side, rather than just getting one straight from the factory in China, but pretty certain it's a lot.

Is there any way you could give a bit of advice for those of us looking to get an LED in the near future? If it were your money, would you go Budmaster 675w or Mars 1200w?

Sorry to put you on the spot but i'm sure i'm only asking what other people are thinking!

Thanks BID, great journal, and i hope you are having a lovely Christmas. :)

Ok see I can't say anything about the mars2 1200 I have no idea how it compares to the budmasterII 675xg obviously the bigger light is outperforming the smaller light, so I favor it , it's killing results I get with a 600 hps, so obviously it's going to outperform the mars2 I have, it's like asking me if a I-power 400hps compares to a JDL 1000watt hps the budmasterII has a better design with 100% redundancy 1 power supply to 1 light cluster,,low ,med, high settings, user serviceable, ,I think both companies make good grow lights, the mars2 is cheaper, the budmasterII is built like a tank and cheaper than most others except for TopLeD, I can't tell you witch to buy,,I doubt you will be disappointed with either company, for a small space 3x3 the mars2 is great, the best and biggest buds I have harvested are from the budmasterII but is that because it's so much more powerful,? Is it spectrum? I can't tell you, it's really not a fair question,
If it we're my $ I would have no choice but to go with cheap as I'm on a fixed income well below the poverty line, I'm just getting started with led I've been using them less than 6 months, I have not even completely flowered a plant from start to finish under the budmasterII and only 1 small harvest from the TopLeD, so I'm still developing my opinion, that's the best I can come up with right now, I really need more time with both lights to give any kind of definitive answer, sorry I'm not more help,

Thanks for the reply.

I'll keep checking in on the journal and your progress with this Budmaster 2. Really appreciate the info:)

No prob, it's just a bit soon for me to feel comfortable saying anything very definitive, I can say that both lights have produced higher quality bud in the potency ,Trich production, aroma & taste depts, that's a blanket statement for led in general, ,very soon I will be harvesting a sour diesel #2 that has flowered starting from day 1 of 12/12, the others before it had 2-3 weeks under the hps first, I don't think it made a big difference, but I want to be as fair and honest as possible, because I know ppl are watching and $ is on the line, I want to feel 100% about anything I say and recommend, lots of ppl know I work very hard to give the best advice I can, I try to only say things I have personally tried, and limit heresay ,I will research and dig for answers to questions asked me and do my best to provide reliable info whenever possible, my reputation is important to me , ,so I will provide a good honest final review on both lights in each journal respectively as soon as I feel I have a solid feel for each,.:thumb:

it was good, got a new game, lighted gaming keyboard,a great dinner, and watched a few movies, did nothing with the green girls, i planned it that way, actually i got 3 new games but 2 came early, oh and a remote control mini helicopter looks like something from halo, but its not here yet shipping from china must be by boat or submarine lol spiffy got a galaxy tab 3 from me, and everyone else got meds (where appropriate)
i am getting the kid something late as i ran out of money fixing sjit and paying bills, it was the diet coke of xmas this year im not a fan of the holiday and i dont even believe in organized religion, a higher power and afterlife yes, thats all im saying on that subject, i did check on the clones, they dont look too good i think only 3-4 will make it, i think i waited to long and they got too cold but at least one of each strain will make it thats all that matters

Cool! I got a 50 dollar gift card, and spent the whole thing on weed gear. New chains for old light hoods, magnifying loupe, fiskars pruning snips, and some Dyna-Gro KIN rooting concentrate. Just an 8 oz bottle. Going to give it a try with my newspaper pots at transplant time.

Yep, that was some of my holiday gifting to myself. Since I never expect(ed) to go really large or perpetual, I planned on hanging in the very cabinet I grew in. Since I'm getting really close I picked up my drying rack this week. I got the smaller one, but it's still modular so I can add sections as needed. I'm stoked.

THE REPS ARE RIGHT returns this Sunday with it's long awaited 4th episode! Look below in my SIGNATURE for details. Be there or be square...

SWEET!! GREAT NEWS! My very lovely and generous spiffy just ordered something I was going to get, a living fresh ozone ionizer unit I decided that carbon scrubbers are crap at removing odor completely from very strong smelling organic/highbrix plants they smell 10 times stronger than normal fertilizer grown plants I have been running 2 scrubbers,2 Neg ionizers, and my oreck xl air purifier and 3 auto mister air freshness and onagel, and I can still smell it outside! So industrial strength air purification is the obvious next step, and at 119 bux and near 5 stars on am uh zone it sounds like it's every bit as good as the 500bone version, and from my research this will fill 3500 sq feet with enough o3 to choke Godzilla and make the air as clean as a nun's behind on Sunday !
I'm super stoked to get this item, I had one of the alpine ones just like this for an in home trial back in 95 when they we're a grand! And I remember it was amazing and changed the whole feel of my house,I have wanted one ever since, I wanted to cry when the 30 day trial was over. So yeah this is a long time coming and once again spiffy it the wish giver! Xmas keeps coming! Lol:thumb:

Hey BID - I've heard some pretty negative things about ozone. You might want to look into it just a bit more before getting it.

Here's a quote for you that I found...

Ozone has been implicated to have an adverse effect on plant growth: "... ozone reduced total chlorophylls, carotenoid and carbohydrate concentration, and increased 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) content and ethylene production. In treated plants, the ascorbate leaf pool was decreased, while lipid peroxidation and solute leakage were significantly higher than in ozone-free controls. The data indicated that ozone triggered protective mechanisms against oxidative stress in citrus.

I came so close to getting something like this myself, but after a bit of research I decided against it. I'm hoping that my Phresh charcoal filter keeps the order away - we'll see.

Lawsuits regarding the personal Ozone unit sharper image used to sell forced the company into bankruptcy. There has since been a tremendous amount of negative publicity regarding these units. In fact, I believe they are not even legal to own in the state of California.

I have PM'd you a link.

I agree that it can be a bad idea to run an ozone lights inside the grow room.
But if you have one in the exhaust ducting, it treats the stinky air on the way out leaving it smelling like a hospital.
Without negatively effecting the room or house.
An ozone light can also be used to treat the room between grows.
Kills bugs, fungus, all that shit.
Just don't be in there too long when treating it..:loopy:

Ok guys I appreciate the concern, this unit is not just a simple ozone generator, it's a full on air purification system with controls for o3 and Neg ions, I've used one before it was awesome, it will be on a timer, I've done a ton of research on this I'm confident it is the right unit for me, o3 will be set very low ions very high, and it is highly rated by hundreds of users, I'm well aware of the dangers of ozone in high concentrations , I'm not worried at all with this unit it's very trusted and proven, no worries gang!:thumb:
