the seeds from the hbd in hydro are regular seed not fem, the only ones fem this run are the blue cheese and blue mystic all the rest are regular, my preference i fem'd the blues because i wanted to have them in an uncrossed form and be able to move on to other strains i would like to have all my seeds in regular as a breeder wannabe its nice to always have males in your fav strains, thank for the encouragement the rest of the plants harvested were grown in coco and bpn organics at this point now that the bucket is gone everything is coco /bpn/organics :thumb:

What was the issue that caused the roots to get that way? It's likely that it would be relatively easy to fix, we just need to work out what caused it. Out of interest, what's that bag around the roots in a couple of the photos, was that round the roots the entire grow?

im afraid im already put off the hydro right now its not my first attempt at hydro i have done veggies and a coffee can diy thing in my very first journal if you care to look, still have that one laying around, im not saying i'll never try again but im not interested in it again anytime soon i may even donate all my hydro stuff to a grower that needs it,time will tell, that bag your asking about is not on the roots its around the sub pump that was feeding the drip manifold in the top above the hydroton it was dwc and recirculating drip i had airstones and a 158gpm pump in that bucket and still had mass issues keeping it sterile i added the industrial grade h202 29% at double the rate on the bottle , the bottle said 2ml per gal i was doing 4-6 ml per gallon and changing the res at minimum every 14 days mostly it was weekly due to it getting so nasty i quit using anything but the 3 part and liquid blue, but at least i got a second generation batch of hbd:thumb:

thats the plus that made it not total waste ! yup those roots freaked me out big time and im left puzzled how can that stuff be there when i was running the drippers straight down all around the root ball(a sad small rootball) with such a high level of h202 , it will be cool to hang again i should have some genuine gdp beans for you by then or some clones im gonna run the gdp and blue dream pretty hard for a while and the skunk#11 if it proves to be as nice as the claims! hell the only thing i will make room for at this point would be mendo purps,a high cbd like harlequin , og kush, or some other elite strains , i pulled a widow bomb today that looked rough just cuz im not wasting my time and space on plants that are not doing great ,i guess i have just spent to much time and $ on crappy sick plants that i get barely anything from, space is to limited for that lol but im really excited to get some new stuff flowering and that will be happening very soon:thumb:

last 3 pics, the one with the seeds all the seeds in the pic are from the 2 grape sized buds in the pic
lat 2 are my latest air/bidpots im experimenting with longer protrusions
thats the shots for the 2 blue cheese plants there are far more fem seeds than pictured about 4 times as many thats just what i have in the way of pics

Everything looks like it turned out great BID. Hydro is funny, I don't think I had a successful harvest in my first 4 tries, it's always something. Once you get it dialed in it's pretty much set it and forget it, learning curves are rough on top of being as sick as you have I would be discouraged with it too. You do have a great organic program going on and the pics to prove it. :passitleft::peace: glad your feeling somewhat better :)

not so much really there was not much trimming but there was lots of tweezer hash lol i just dissolve the goo in alcohol to be dried out one day when its gotten dark and murky reps back:thumb:

either blue cheese or blue mystic are great choices mystic is good for bed,keeps well and gooey,cheese has an amazing smell and high harder to clone , both produce heavy dense nugs, might put both on that list:thumb:

yeah the worst is behind me on the flu,and hydro is just not my thing another thing is i dont like paying for pumps n bubblers to do what coco does for free, power outtages are death ,i mean yea the lights but worst case i stick em by a window or in the greenhouse i like the neater look without all the tubing and cords, i dunno this just brought me closer to my love of coco:thumb:

Those black roots are crazy. Have you found anyone else every encounter that before? I've never seen anything like it.

Sucks about the hydro I've never been able to do soil go figure but hydro and aro I do great never could figure that out ha ha

well guys thank you so far i have alot of work to do on "my" strains but the fem stuff is just a seed form of a clone really some would argue but its the genetics of the one strain not crossed and theres a possibility of hermy and other phenotypes but in all my yrs of femmin seeds i have only seen 2 from a strain that has that tendency anyways, one day i hope to be a totaly legit breeder that you could order from at least the vendors but i have a ways to go yet
those roots didnt smell much kinda a slight earthy soil like thing but faint, and i have no clue what caused it i followed the bpn sched an kept h202 in there so your guess is as good as mine
thanke for all the positive words, tonight the skunk#11 and big blue dream momma went into flower wont be to long before i get some gdp flowering im guessing i have 2 males and a female but the preflowers are small and deceptive, i am sure i have at least 1 of each sex so you know what that means hehe

Yo Bid, did you use jiffy pellets for the plant with slime?
I had one split when I used the top/drip style and it freaked me out,hand the fresh dug hole in the woods smell,
Hate to see you leave the DWC scene, but you is a soil professional and always have useful info.:peace:
